SAFETY DISPOSITIONS
Before starting up the machine or making any maintenance work, read carefully this
manual.
To carry out the maintenance operations, cut the power from the general switch.
During these operations if any defence has being removed, once finished replace all
of them.
The use of ear protectors is recommended, depending the positioning of the ma-
chine.
Before manipulating in the electrical panel, disconnect the power from the main net.
When the nozzles of the glue injector are manipulated, do not forget to leave them in
the right position, otherwise they could cause burns.
The key for cancelling protections (engineer key), should be only used by qualified
personnel.
To open or close the front guard nº20(see next page), use always both hands. When
opening place it in its highest position, otherwise it could fall.
REMARKS
The machine is fitted with a hot-melt unit, vacuum pump and air compressor (op-
tional), read all these manuals which are supplied with the machine.

* 220v: cable multiwired (3 poles). Isolation: butylic rubber.
R S T N R S T N
To change from 380v to 220v or vice versa, change the transformers TR1 and TR2 and the motors
M2, M3 and M4. DO NOT CHANGE M1 as this supplies neutral and phase, the same as the
Nordson and as such will always be 220v. Check and change the mangnetothermic interrupters "Q"
(not supplied with the machine)
Once connected, check the voltage before supplying current to the machine. The machine has
stickers indicating the installation voltage.
☞ general switch: ON
☞ machine switch: ON
☞ activate the NORDSON by pressing the green button.
Checking the turning direction of the machine, we know that the vacuum pump also turns in the
correct direction. To do this, follow these steps ;
+ Release the emergency stop/s.
+ Press the yellow button (impulse) to re-arm the machine. Attention : the Nordson must be ready,
the air pressure must be at the correct level and the guards must be in position and closed (see
following section).
+ Press once again this button to give an impulse.
Check that the compressor (if supplied) and the stacker turn in the correct direction as well, if they
do not change the phases at their plugs.

The machine is equiped with a presostat which stops the functioning of the machine if it does not
have air pressure. Nontheless, note that the machine pressure needs to be 7kg/cm2. If not it will
result in the machine stopping.
MACHINE START UP
Before working with the machine it is necessary to check that the movements are correct and that
everything is in it´s correct position after transit. To do this follow these steps ;
1. Remove the handle from it´s housing and insert it in the position indicated
in the photo.
2. Turn the machine over in the direction of the arrow one full cycle.
3. Once the process is made, the machine is ready to work on automatic.
The machine is equiped with a number of measures that impede the machine from starting;
1. Presostat (detects if the machine has the correct air pressure).
2. Handle must be in it´s housing.
3. Guards must be in position and the mould guards closed with both bolts.
4. Motor switch --> (factory set), pressed position.
5. Chain switch --> (factory set), pressed position.
6. Jam detector arm,down.
7. Flap folder arms (magazine), down.
N.B. : The stops and safety switches can not be adjusted, under normal conditions these neither
deregulate or breakdown on their own.
8. The vacuum does not work when:
- The green light on the Nordson is not lit ( wait until the glue reaches temperature )
- The red light on the Nordson is lit ( problem in the glue tank ).
- The Nordson cuts off automatically when the machine has not worked for a period of 2 hours or
the time as set at timer T1. In order to start working again press the Nordson re-arm (the green
button on the front of the electrical control panel).

HOW TO USE THE TIMER DATA MICRO
ON / OFF
- To set the time
Press simultaneously buttons “D”, “¹”, “M”, and C1. All the previous memorised programs will be
erased. Once release pressing, it will appear on the display 0:00.
- To enter a program
Push “PROG” to start programming. On the display it will appear ¸ and two flashing black points. With
keys “C1” and “W ” you can choose the type of manoeuvre:
Key “C1”Þ Press once to connect “ON” (it will appear on the upper right side)
Press twice to switch “OFF” (it will appear on the upper right side)
Key “W ” Þ Press once for a two seconds temporised manoeuvre
Press twice for a five seconds temporised manoeuvre
Press three times for a ten seconds temporised manoeuvre
The “W ” manoeuvre gives a short electrical impulse (2, 5 or 10 seconds) to switch on the Nordson tank.
With a two seconds manoeuvre it should be enough for this purpose.
Once the type of manoeuvre has been selected, on the screen it will appear 0:00 plus a flashing arrow
above day 1 (Monday). In case of temporised manoeuvre it will also appear a second flashing screen
indicating the impulse selected (2, 5 or 10 seconds) with the “W ” symbol.
To program the days, use “D” button to move from one day to the next one and “PROG” to set the
day(s) desired once the flashing arrow is above that day. So “D” allows you to move along the 7 days
and “PROG” to select the flashing day. On the display it will appear a fixed arrow above the selected
days.
Use “H” and “M” buttons to select the time for the manoeuvre to be made.
Once you have entered all these data, press again “PROG” to go on to the next program. To finish
programming, press “¹” and the time will be displayed on the screen.

Press “H” continuously and a double figure number will appear on the screen that can be modified
using C1 button (from 1 to 47). The programs will be interrupted during those days, and it becomes
effective at 0:00 of the following day. Whilst holidays program, on the screen can be read the “H” letter.
- Manual commutation
With C key you can make ON/OFF connections without altering the established programs.

DRAWING 28
Using the handle, DRAWING 2, turn the machine in the indicated direction, and bring
the pusher forward until it touches the blank as in DRAWING 28. Move the blank
forwards until it is in line with the nozzle. The first glue, STEP 1, will be fixed while in
this position, in the following manner :
1.- The MODE button of the programmer should be placed in the PRG position.
2.- The PROGRAMMING MODE button should be in TCH position.
3.- From the OUT Nº. button the OUT 1 mode will be selected.
4.- Press the STEP button in order to go the STP1.
5.- Press the ON / OFF button to place in the ON position.
6.- Once in this position, press WRITE to introduce the value.
With the above operation the starting of the glue line will be fixed. To fix the end-
ing point, we will continue advancing, using the handle until the desired point for
ending the glue line. Once it is reached press the ON / OFF button to put it into the

For the rest of the glue lines the same steps described above for the first glue will
be followed, taking into account that in the case of the glue lines on the rear part of
the box, data should be introduced in STEP 2.
