Questions from Physics 1

The document contains a series of physics questions focused on unit conversion, vector calculations, resultant displacement, velocity-time analysis, and a scenario involving a car's braking distance. It requires calculations for magnitudes, scalar products, angles between vectors, and comparisons of distance and displacement. Additionally, it poses a real-world problem involving a car's reaction time and braking to determine if it will collide with an obstacle.

4. Figure 2 shows the velocity-time graph of a toy train moving on a straight track in
55 s.

a) Determine the time and acceleration at point P when the velocity is zero.
b) Is the total distance travelled by the train less than, equal or greater than its
total displacement? Justify your answer using calculation.

5. A car is traveling +20.0ms-1 when the driver sees a moose

standing on the road. She takes 0.80s to react the steps on
the brakes and slows at 7.1ms-2. If the moose is initially 45.0m
away from the car will the car hit the moose?
