How I developed these presets
These presets were designed specifically for Portraits.

Generic presets usually don’t work that well when applied to


Portraits. This is because things like skin tone, clothing, and the

contrast between them are so difficult to get right.

As such, these presets focus on neutral skin tones while adding

some flare and colour changes. They ensure skin doesn’t turn
way too orange, or way too yellow, or way too green - just human
skin colours.

They’ve been tested on all types of skin; white, tanned, dark, etc.

How to install

Lightroom Classic

In the Develop module of Lightroom, on the left sidebar, there will be a


“Presets” section.

Installation is as simple as selecting the “+”, and “Import Presets”.

Simply select the unzipped folder you downloaded and it will add the entire
folder and all the presets into the list.

In the Edit (e) module of Lightroom, at the bottom of the sidebar, there will
be a “Presets” button.

Installation is as simple as selecting the “…”, and “Import Presets” in the


Presets panel.

Simply select the unzipped folder you downloaded and it will add the entire
folder and all the presets into the list.

Lightroom Mobile

Installation for Lightroom on mobile devices is a little different.

Follow the previous slide to ensure that you install the presets through a
desktop version of Lightroom.

Ensure Adobe cloud sync is enabled.

Once the presets sync over Adobe cloud, they should appear in the
“Presets” section when you are editing an image on a mobile device.

Lightroom Mobile-only Install

To install the presets on Lightroom Mobile only, follow this method:

1) Unzip the main folder on your phone


2) Navigate to the “Adobe Lightroom Mobile-only Install” folder
3) Each one of the DNG’s has their corresponding preset applied to them.
Open them in Lightroom Mobile
4) For each preset, press the ellipsis menu (…), then select “Create Preset”.
5) Name each preset by the code of the corresponding preset
6) Make a new preset group, call it “Pat Kay Presets - Portrait”
7) Tick the following boxes: Profile: Color, Color, Effects, Detail
8) Press the tick in the top right to complete
9) Repeat step 4 and 8 for every preset in the group until complete
