DLP 1_The Undefined Terms
DLP 1_The Undefined Terms
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
geometry of shapes and sizes, and geometric relationships.
B. Performance Standards: The learner is able to create models of plane figures and
formulate and solve accurately authentic problems involving sides and angles of a
polygon.
C. Learning Competencies: The learner:
1. The learner represents point, line and plane using concrete and pictorial
models. (M7GEIIIa-1)
2. The learner illustrates subsets of a line. (M7GEIIIa-2)
D. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
identify the different undefined terms in geometry;
represent point, line and plane using concrete and pictorial models;
give concrete examples of point, line and plane; and
name a point, line and plane, and subsets of line.
II. CONTENT
A. Topic: The Undefined Terms
B. Prerequisite:
C. Methodology: Inductive / Deductive Method
D. Materials:
PowerPoint Presentation
Smart Television/Laptop
Pencil/Ballpen
Notebook
E. Values:
The students demonstrate mastery in identifying point, line and plane;
The students demonstrate mastery in illustrating segments of a line;
The lesson teaches students to develop their critical thinking, collaboration,
and attentiveness in class discussions.
IV. PROCEDURE
DAILY ROUTINE (3 minutes)
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
Good morning, Class! Good morning, Ma’am!
Let’s start the day with positive thoughts, disregard Yes Ma’am!
all the bad things that happened to you, choose one
or more emoji to describe your feelings right now.
Raise your hand if you already played this game Some of the students raised their hands.

_____
Answer:
Plane Ma’am!
For the Unscramble Word, I will be showing an
unscrambled word, and you have to get the
correct answer.

2. A R Y Line Segment
3. O I N P T M D I Ray

For example:
Plane MPO
Plane PON
Plane ONM
Can we also identify plane to real life object? Plane NMP
1.top of a table
2.cover of a book
Example:
Very good, now let’s discuss the segments of a Points Q, R and P are coplanar because
line. they lie on the same plane.
Subset Description Example
Line A part of a
segment line
containing
two points
called
endpoints Notation:
and all the AB (read as segment
points AB)
between
them. BA (read as segment
BA)
Ray A part of a
line
containing a
point called
endpoint
and goes
infinitely in Note: Ray YX is not
one the same as ray XY
direction.
Let’s have,
Congruent segment – segments that have the
same length.
Based on the figure which are congruent
segment?
Okay what else?
That’s right therefore, AB ≅ BC ≅ CD ≅ DE

ASSIGNMENT
Directions: Observe your surroundings and look for real-life applications of the terms we
discussed (point, line, plane, line segment, ray, and others). Draw and color them. Pass it on
not later than March 31, 2023.
Example: This window represents a plane.
V. EVALUATION
I. Determine whether the following suggests a point, line or a plane.
_____1. A portion of telephone wire LINE
_____2. Mole POINT
_____3. Top of a table PLANE
_____4. Location in a map POINT
_____5. Edge of a book LINE
