are all described below. This assignment provides an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of
the module learning outcomes.

The formative tasks which are outlined in the Module Guide are essential to the completion of your
summative assignment.

This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your
achievement of the following module learning outcomes:

LO1 Understand and apply basic IT solutions in the context of your studies.

LO2 Use the different functions and features of cloud computing.

LO3 Understand and use a range of media in presenting ideas.

LO4 Recognise personal and data security skills from the user’s perspective.

Task requirements
Overview:
The assignment should be submitted by 23:59 on Monday 10th February 2025 as a single Word
document in the Assignment Template, which contains the cover page and a template for all FIVE
PARTS of the assessment. In total, your work should contain 1000 words plus 5 mandatory
images/screenshots.

The Assignment Template can be downloaded from the course Moodle site by clicking on the
Assessment Tab and then clicking on the link marked “Assignment Template”.

Make sure to proofread your work before submission to avoid spelling or grammar mistakes. Ensure that
referencing is done while accessing online resources, including eBooks, images, and credible secondary
data sources for all the parts. References are strictly necessary in Part 3 and Part 5. However, you
should include at least ONE credible reference, with Oxford Brookes University Harvard referencing style
applied, in each other part to achieve a higher score.

GBEN3002 | Assignment Brief | Academic Year 24/25

Part 5 (200 words | Mark 20% | LO1, LO2 and LO3)

Poster about your business
• Create an A4 poster (using the Poster Template) outlining your business from Week 4 and
three specific IT solutions which could help that business (200 words + images). Include IT
solutions linked to Marketing, Customer Experience and Ways of Working (refer to Week 4
teaching materials). The Poster Template can be downloaded from the course Moodle site, by
clicking on the Assessment Tab and then clicking on the link marked “Poster Template”.
Include images and at least two citations/references (in the poster itself) which support your
argument. Insert your poster as an image into your Assignment Template.

Formatting Guidelines

• Assignment Template
o The Microsoft Word Assignment Template document must be used.
o Use Arial font.
o Set the font size to 12pt for the main text.
o Apply 1.5 or double spacing throughout the document.
o Clearly indicate each part of the assessment, following the template structure

• PowerPoint Slide Guidelines (Part 3)

o There is no required template for Part 3. Students are encouraged to explore the
templates available in PowerPoint and select one relevant to their topic. Alternatively,
students may design their own.
o Ensure that text on slides is readable for an audience member several metres away
from the presenter. The minimum font sizes are:
▪ Headings: 36pt
▪ Sub-headings: 28pt
▪ Body text: 24pt
o All three slides must be inserted into the Assignment Template as images.

• Poster Template (Part 5)

o The Poster Template must be used. This is available from the course Moodle site
under the Assessment tab.
o The template is A4 – your poster should remain in these proportions.
o Ensure that your font size is readable. The minimum font size is 12pt.
o Use any font but remember that you are producing a professional poster and will
be assessed on your design choices.
o The poster must be inserted into the Assignment Template as an image.

• General Format Considerations

o All references, including those in texts, on PowerPoints slides, and on the poster, must be
formatted in the Oxford Brookes University Harvard referencing style. Guidance can be
found at this link: https://radar.brookes.ac.uk/radar/file/370e1de4-8ea3-18c5-0eb6-
676d7efc9533/1/harvard.pdf.
o All text in Parts 1,2 4, and 5 must be written in full sentences and paragraphs, rather than
bullet points, using the skills in cohesion and coherence gained in Module 1.
o Information on the slides for Part 3 may be given in sentence-length bullet points.

How your work will be assessed

Your work will be assessed on the extent to which it demonstrates your achievement of the stated
learning outcomes for this assignment (see above) and against other key criteria, as defined in the
University’s institutional grading descriptors. If it is appropriate to the format of your assignment and
your subject area, a proportion of your marks will also depend upon your use of academic referencing
conventions.

This assignment will be marked according to the grading descriptors for Level 3.

Submission details
This assignment should be submitted electronically via Moodle (module tutors will discuss this process
with you during class time).

● All submitted work should remain anonymous; therefore, please ensure that you only include
your student ID on your assignment.

● Please ensure that your work has been saved in one Microsoft Word document, as guided by
the template.

● You can submit your work as many times as you like before the submission date. If you
submit your work more than once, the most recent version will replace your earlier
submission.

● Once you have submitted your work, you will receive a digital receipt as proof of submission,
which will be sent to your forwarded e-mail address (provided you have set this up). Please
keep this receipt for future reference, along with the original electronic copy of your
assignment

● You are reminded of GBS’s regulations on academic conduct, which can be viewed on:
GBS Academic Good Practice and Academic Conduct: Policy and Procedure

Submission date and time

This assessment should be submitted before 23.59pm on Monday, 10th February 2025, via the
Final Summative Submission Point on the course Moodle site:
https://moodle.globalbanking.ac.uk/mod/assign/view.php?id=133511

You should submit all work for summative assessments by the above deadline. Work not submitted by
the deadline will be marked as 0% RN (refer, no work submitted) unless there is a valid reason for the
late submission (i.e. having been granted an extension to the deadline or a deferral via the
Exceptional Circumstances procedure). For information on exceptional circumstances, additional
support and assessment guidance, please refer to your programme handbook.

Work marked as 0% RN can be resubmitted as per below.

For guidance on Poor Academic Practice (PAP) or breaches of Academic Conduct (AC), including
the misuse of AI, please refer to the relevant policy document online at GBS Academic Good Practice
and Academic Conduct: Policy and Procedure.

Feedback and marks for this assignment will be available within three weeks from the deadline

Resubmission date and time

The Oxford Brookes University Regulations for Study (6.9) set out the rules governing your
entitlements to resit assessments and retake modules. You can make your resubmission by Sunday
30th March 2025, before 23:59 PM.

Key Principles that students should be aware in making resubmission.

● A reassessment task will normally take the same form as the original assessment.
● The mark that you achieve for a resit will be capped at the pass mark - this means 40% for
this module. The only exception to this will be where you have made a successful claim for
exceptional circumstances, in which case, the mark achieved at resit would not be capped.
