TRACK 12 ZADANIE 1.

Woman: Michael, do you remember your first adventure holiday?


Man: Oh, yes. I was alone, as my girlfriend had just left me, when an old friend of mine invited me to go to
Spain with him. At first I didn’t even want to join in, but eventually we ended up visiting Morocco!
Woman: My story began when I was 18. My parents were a bit anxious and they didn’t want me to go so they
advised me to start with somewhere close. So I set off round Britain, on my own, but my first trip was
a horror!
Man: Why?
Woman: I thought the best way to travel was to get free rides; it’s cheap and you can make new friends but it
was gloomy and windy all the time and I had to wait hours for someone to pick me up.
Man: That reminds me of my Iceland expedition, just that instead of hitchhiking I was cycling. Well, there are
some disadvantages, but over the years I’ve met so many hospitable people all over the world. Once in
Thailand I met a guy, Anurak, who actually flew me in his plane to the nearest town. He offered to give
me a lift and of course I accepted, not knowing that it was going to be a plane!
Woman: That’s why I love adventure holidays! People think that the world is a dangerous place and you need to
be brave, cautious and have a lot of money to travel.
Man: That’s not really true. Having a lot of money isn’t necessary. You should have courage, yes, and be
careful, but above all you must be friendly. After all it’s the people who are most important.

TRACK 13 ZADANIE 2.

One

Well, I can’t say I enjoyed my beginnings. I couldn’t understand much but I was encouraged to join an advanced
class, which turned out to be a mistake. Everybody was speaking fluently and I… I was just stressed and
disappointed. I believe that building students’ confidence is part of the learning process – I’m a motivational speaker
myself, so I often challenge myself and others, but here it just didn’t work.

question, remember to put up your hand. Oh, and procrastinating is not a good idea, so try not to put off tasks. Always
hand in your projects on time. Now, do you have any questions?

I joined the class last month and I absolutely love it. We often do pair work and what I enjoy most are the games we
play. The ... erm … the ... teacher shows questions on the board and we have to answer them on our mobiles, it’s fun,
really! Of course, we also have to learn words and some grammar rules and take tests from time to time. I work for an
international company and I really need to improve my language skills to get promoted.

TRACK 14 ZADANIE 3.

One

In this job you need to be mostly reliable and punctual. It’s important to be good with people, but also with children
and animals as you never know who’s behind the doors. Since you are going to use a bike, you don’t need a driving
licence. As for the money, you decide the days and hours you would like to work. You will be paid per hour and you
will get a bonus for working more than three days a week.

Man 1: Have you heard the news? Mike Mollan has been arrested!
Man 2: Mike Mollan? Who’s that?
Man 1: He’s the world famous hacker! He broke into the FBI systems to steal information and then he tried to sell it
but it seems he didn’t get away with it. The police caught him and he is being charged with hacking and theft now.
He might end up in prison for a long time. But I bet that the worst punishment for him will be a ban on using
computers.

China will not release the new film by Quentin Tarantino Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with Leonardo DiCaprio and
Brad Pitt playing a TV actor and his stuntman. Set in 1969 Los Angeles the film tells the story of two friends trying to
adjust to a new reality, with the history of the Manson family in the background. It recently turned out that Shannon
Lee made a complaint to China’s National Film Administration because of the way her father, Bruce Lee, was shown
in the film. The director decided not to change his original version as he believes he presented the real picture of the
famous kung-fu artist.

Twelve volleyball players have been disqualified from the International Volleyball World League. National teams from
Portugal and Indonesia were participating in a prestigious competition that was held last week in Ottawa, Canada.
Unfortunately, the sportsmen didn’t follow the rules of the game. They passed the drug test, but the referee caught the
teams cheating as they had planned to lose their matches. They intentionally lost to avoid stronger competitors in the
finals.

Mum: These dishes won’t wash themselves, Martin ... And do I really have to ask you to make your bed every day?
Son: Mum, thanks to the dishwasher we don’t need to wash the dishes. But, is it my turn to load the dishwasher?
Can’t Lucy do it? And then could I empty it when it finishes? By the way… can you iron my clothes? You
know it’s not my thing. I’d make my bed in the meantime.
