I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:

a. define propaganda,
b. recognize the different propaganda techniques, and
c. demonstrate the use of propaganda techniques through promoting local
products.
II. Content
Topic: Propaganda

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
 It’s a wonderful day today and let us begin our discussion with
a prayer to ask guidance from almighty god.
 Good morning class! How are you today?
 Kindly look around and tell me who is absent today?

 Today will be another day of discovery and with that I want to
exercise your mind with this drill entitled “Your Tagline Sounds
Familiar”
 Instructions: Identify the name of TV commercial base on the
tagline that will be flashed on the screen.

 At these moment, we will begin our discussion about
propaganda and propaganda techniques.
 Please pay attention during the discussion so that you will be
able to answer my questions right after the discussion.
 Feel free to ask if you have clarifications.
PROPAGANDA
Propaganda is a form of communication to distribute information. It is
always biased. The information is designed to make people feel a certain way or to
believe a certain thing. The information is often political. It is hard to tell whether
the information is true or false.

Propaganda is information that is used to promote or publicize a point of


view or a cause. It is often has the connotation of being biased or misleading in
some way-not telling the entire truth because of the need to promote a view,
cause, product, or person.

PROPAGANDA TECHNIQUES

1. Card Stacking – is a one sided technique that aims to sway people’s


perceptions by highlighting or focusing on the product’s best features only.

testimony and influence the people.

3. Bandwagon -Influencing people by telling them how everyone is using the


same product or is true to the same ideology. You are atrracted and
convinved to used the product or join an activity because “everyone” is
doing it.

D. Application
“Promote Me!”
 I will be grouping you into 3 and do this activity entitled
“Promote Me!”
 DIRECTIONS: each group will choose a leader and the group
leader will choose a product and technique to be used in
promoting the product. The presenter from each group will be
selected through randomizer.

IV. Evaluation
“Deal or No Deal”
 Let’s play “Deal or No Deal”
 Mechanics: the teacher will randomly choose the player
through the wheel of fortune. The chosen player will decide
whether Deal or No Deal.
 If the player chooses Deal, he/she will choose a briefcase
which contain a specific question. If the player can answer the
question correctly, there will be a reward.
 If the player chooses No Deal, the player will choose a
substitute player and the substitute player will automatically
play the game.
 Here are the questions inside the briefcase;
 What is Propaganda?
 What are the different propaganda techniques?
 How do you use different propaganda techniques in
promoting local product?
 How will you use card stacking technique?
 How will you use bandwagon technique?
 Differentiate card stacking, testimonial and bandwagon.
