The setup of this annual fund gift table was guided by a strategic approach inspired by the

example in the textbook “Conducting a Successful Annual Giving Program” by Kent E. Dove.

By examining Dove’s table, I created a framework that balances major gifts with a wide base of

smaller contributions, which is essential for reaching various levels of donors. Since I was unable

to find an original gift table specific to the SDA Organization for direct comparison, I developed

this draft to reflect a realistic and ambitious target. The total fundraising goal of $5,000,000 was

chosen because it represents a reasonable benchmark that supports significant projects while

remaining attainable with committed effort.

In designing the table, I took into account the values and giving practices within the

Christian community, especially the belief in tithing. Many Christians believe that giving 10

percent of their income is part of their faith commitment, which is why I expect a significant

portion of this goal can be met within the $1,000 - $4,999 and up to $999 ranges. These ranges

reflect anticipated support from members who may not contribute at the highest levels but are

committed to consistent giving. This approach ensures that the SDA Organization can benefit

from both major, transformational gifts and a steady influx of smaller donations that, collectively,

help achieve the overall fundraising goal.

This is just a draft, but I believe it is a reasonable starting point for the SDA

Organization's annual fund. It outlines a balanced approach to fundraising that leverages both

large and smaller contributions, aligning with the community's giving practices and values. This

draft aims to reflect attainable yet impactful goals to support the organization's mission

effectively within Illinois.
