1 Product Overview

The HD601 is a handheld code reader for

commercial vehicles. It can quickly and easily
access the vehicle's ECU (electronic control units)
and sensors. Its functions include reading/clearing
fault codes and analyzing live sensor data. It covers
all major truck models that comply with the
protocol standard SAE J1939, SAE J1708, ISO
14230-4, ISO 15764-4 and ISO 9141-2, ISO 27145-4.

2 Operation

2.1 Connection to the vehicle

You can connect the reader to the vehicle ECU via the
interface OBD II.

If the vehicle interface is 6/9 pin, please use the

transmission line to connect. One side of the
transmission line is connected to the vehicle interface,
and the other side is connected to the OBDII interface
of the code reader.

Caution: The operating voltage is between 9V-36V,

please make sure the output voltage of your vehicle's
diagnostic socket is 9V-36V.

Turn the ignition key of the vehicle to ON or start the

engine, then the code reader will start automatically.

2.2 Menu and Functions

WWH-OBD(World-Wide Harmonized On-Board

Diagnostics): Diagnostic procedures for vehicles

3 Software Upgrading

Upgrading the product software is supported. The

steps are as follows:

1) Download the upgrade program from

www.anceltech.com to a Windows 10 computer.

2) Connect the reader to the Windows 10 computer

via a mini USB cable.

3) Select the ABOUT/Update Mode menu, and the

reader will enter the update mode.

4) Launch the update program on the Windows10

computer and select the appropriate port.

Note: Please make sure the operating system of the

computer is Windows 10.

5) Click the Start Upgrade button to perform the

upgrade.

6) When the upgrade is completed, the prompt will

appear on the screen. You can look up the new
version number in the ABOUT/Tool Information
menu of the code reader.

Note: If the update interrupts and the system crashes,

you can try to re-enter the update mode through the
following steps：

1) Pull out the USB cable and hold the reader off,
and then press the Enter key.

2) Connect the reader to the Windows 10 computer

via a mini USB cable.

3) Release the Enter key when three indicator Lights

on the reader light up, and then the reader enters

4 FAQ（Frequently Asked Questions）

Here are some frequently asked questions and

answers about the HD601.

Question: When I update the HD601 tool, I cannot find

the serial port query. How can I find it?

Answer: Please make sure that your computer system

is a Windows 10 system. For Windows 10 systems, the
update tool will automatically detect the serial port
number.

Question: when diagnosing the truck, it shows NOT

supported.

Answer: please confirm the power and ignition key of

the vehicle to ON or start the engine. Then check if the
test path is correct or not. In most cases, for American
trucks, please select HDOBD menu. For American
pickups, please select both WWW-OBD and HDOBD

Question: What is the WWW-OBD?

Answer: WWW-OBD brings together the entire range

of OBD specifications for cars and commercial vehicles
into one globally valid regulation.

Question: Why cannot the tool clear the error codes?

Answer:

1) Help to check if the vehicle problems have been

2) The HD601 can only clear standard OBD codes;

3) Some fault codes in the history cannot be cleared.

Question: Does this diesel scan tool work on American

trucks?

Answer: Yes, it works on most trucks with J1708 and

J1939 protocols.

Answer: No, it only supports basic diagnostic functions

such as read/clear codes, read data stream.

2 Operación

2.1 Conexión al vehículo

Puede conectar el lector a la ECU del vehículo a través

de la interfaz OBD II.
