 This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.


 Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
 Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
 Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
 Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
 Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with sub-parts of the values
of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
 All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of 5 marks, 2 Questions of
3 marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in the
2 marks questions of Section E.

21. (a) On a morning walk, three persons step out together and their steps measure 30 cm, 36 cm and 40 cm
respectively. What is the minimum distance each should walk so that each can cover the same distance in
complete steps?

(b) The LCM of two numbers is 9 times their HCF. The sum of LCM and HCF is 500. Find the LCM of
two numbers.
22. (a) A bag contains some balls of which x balls are white, 2x are black and 3x are red. A ball is selected at
at random. What is the probability that it is (i) not red? (ii) white?
OR
(b) Nikhil and Pratik are playing with a 6 – sided fair die each, numbered 1 – 6. They roll their dice once
at the same time. A player wins only if they get a number larger than the other player. What is the
probability of Pratik winning the game? Show your work.

23. Find the ratio in which the segment joining the points (1, –3) and (4, 5) is divided by x-axis? Also find the
coordinates of this point on x-axis.

26. ₹ 9,000 were divided equally among a certain number of persons. Had there been 20 more persons, each
would have got ₹160 less. Find the original number of persons.

27. Two people are 32 km apart on a straight road. They start walking at the same time. If they walk towards
each other with different speeds, they will meet in 4 hours. Had they walked in the same direction with
same speeds as before, they would have met in 16 hours. Find their walking speeds.

28. (a) Two concentric circles with centre O have radii of 10 cm and 4 cm. From an external point P, tangents
PA and PB are drawn to both the circles, respectively. If AP = 24 cm, find the length of BP.

OR

(b) Prove that tangents drawn to a circle from an external point are equal in length.

32. A triangle ABC is drawn to circumscribe a circle of radius 4 cm, with point D as the point of contact on side
BC, respectively dividing BC into segments BD = 10 cm and DC = 8 cm. Find the lengths of the sides AB
and AC, given that area of ∆ ABC = 90 cm2.

33. (a) The pyramid graph below shows the ages of the 548 Members of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha.

On an average, how much younger is a female MP than a male MP? Round your answer to the nearest
whole number and show your work.

34. (a) Solve the following system of linear equations graphically and shade the region between the two lines

35. State and prove Basic proportionality theorem (Thales Theorem).

SECTION-E
36. We depend upon natural resources such as water, air, flora and fauna, as we are aware that in the construction
of a house, lots of wood is used and that we get from forest. There are organised rules and regulations for
the same. 228 logs are stacked in the following manner: 32 logs in the bottom row, 31 in the next row, 30
in the row next to it and so on as shown in the figure.

Based on above information, answer the following questions:


(i) How many logs are there in the 5th row from the bottom? (1)
(ii) How many total logs are there upto 4th row from the bottom? (1)
(iii) (a) How many rows are required to put all 228 logs? (2)
OR
(b) How many numbers of rows are required to stack 203 logs?

37. A smash shot in badminton is when the shuttlecock travels in a straight line just above the nets. The line
of impact and the net are perpendicular to the horizontal ground.
(Note: Take tan 30° as 0.57, tan 50° as 1.19, cos 30° as 0.86 and cos 50° as 0.64)

38. A ‘circus’ is a company of performers who put on shows of acrobats, clowns etc. to entertain people started
around 250 years back, in open fields, now generally performed in tents. One such ‘Circus Tent’ is shown
below:

The tent is in the shape of a cylinder surmounted by a conical top. If the height and diameter of cylindrical
part is 9 m and 30 m respectively and height of conical part is 8 m with same diameter as that of the
cylinder part, then

(i) Calculate the slant height of the conical top. (1)


(ii) Find the area of the canvas used in making the tent. (1)
