Lack of Student Motivation in Today's Educational Environment

Growing student disinterest is one of the major problems facing contemporary education. This

problem stems from many things, such as a focus on standardized testing, electronic distractions,

and a mismatch between the interests of the students and the curriculum. Numerous students

believe that "the current educational system is more focused on passing tests than on meaningful

learning," according to Jones (2023) (p. 45). Instead of absorbing the topic, students are under

continual pressure to get excellent results, which makes them feel frustrated and unmotivated.

media and digital entertainment frequently diverts students, making it challenging for them to

focus on their academic work. According to Jones (2023), students often find it difficult to relate

what they are discovering to their passions or aspirations for the future. They find it challenging

to stay engaged in their education as an outcome of this disconnect, which makes them feel

detached from the process of learning. Due to these issues, an entire generation of students is

finding it difficult to maintain their motivation. If these problems aren't resolved, motivation will

probably continue to decline, which will affect participation in class and lead to worse grades. To

address this issue, schools should Emphasize giving students' education greater meaning and

importance while relieving their test-related stress. They find it challenging to stay engaged in

their education as an outcome of this disconnect, which makes them feel detached from the

process of learning. Due to these issues, an entire generation of students is finding it difficult to
