1. Software Introduce
1.1 Introduction
Network Printer software is ultrasound image software on the PC-platform, which is
driven under Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 operating system.
The software is easy to use, without to install the driver. Network Printer software can achieve
the functions: capture images, edit and print the report, save and inquire the case, statistical
analysis, database backup and others.
The hardware and software requirements of PC or laptop as follows:
CPU: 1.0GHz or larger
RAM: 128MB or larger
Network port
Laser printer
Word 2000 or later version

1.2 Features
 Flexible report format, doctor need to select the most appropriate report format
 Has template replacement function, convenient for doctors to automatically adjust the
report template if necessary
 Has Word function to facilitate doctors accustomed to using Word
 Support background image acquisition, achieve the background acquisition of multiple
patients, quickly switch the forth and back patients, enter different patient reports, the
perfect solution to the problems that the speed of ultrasound doctor writing reports not
keep up with the check speed
 Has enlarge collected images function, convenient for doctors to quickly view
 Adjust the brightness and contrast of the images on the report template
 Has images import and export function
 Has special symbol input function, right mouse directly select special symbols
 Has professional terminology templates function, right mouse directly select the
diagnostic content and result associated with the eye, saving input time and greatly
improve the speed of report generation
 Has case database backup and restore function
 Support a variety of conditions search, can query keywords and statistical report
2. Use Induction
(1) Unzip the Network workstation_V3.2 compressed package to the PC side.

Attention: Before you run the Network Printer.exe software, please close the
Windows Firewall or Anti-virus software.
(2) Open the Network workstation_V3.2 folder, right click icon and
choose “Run as administrator” to open the software.

Note: In Windows XP OS, directly double click icon to open this

software; in Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 OS, it need to right
click icon and choose “Run as administrator” to open the software.

(3) When you run the Network Printer.exe first time, close the Windows Firewall or Anti-virus
software, or if pop-up the Windows Security Alert or appears unknown program, choose
the all access or unblock, the software can run normally. As shown below:

(4) Open this software and enter the system setting; you can achieve the report printing
function after finishing the settings.
Description 1: As an administrator to access the software, not as a Guest account.
Description 2: In Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 OS, to enable the boot AUTO
RUN feature, you need to right click and choose “Run as administrator” to run the
software; if open it directly, the boot AUTO RUN feature will not work.
Description 3: If the font display on the Network Printer interface is not complete, it may
be that the screen resolution of the computer has been enlarged or the font is too large. It
is recommended to reduce the resolution or font size of the computer screen.

3. System setting interface

Click “Setting” button to enter system setting interface, as shown in Figure 3-1.

3.1 Configuration option
 HOSPITAL: Input hospital name.
 STORE PATH: Click "Scan", the folders "Data", "TempImg1", "TempImg2" are stored to
the desired path.
Description:
1. The ultrasound images of Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner are transferred
to the Network Printer software and saved in the "Images" folder in the "Data" folder.
The "TempImg1" and "TempImg2" folders are used to store the images in the temporary
area 1 or 2 respectively.
2. The received images are automatically named in sequence based on the current
computer time plus ID; if there is no ID, they are automatically named in sequence
based on the current computer time.
 LANGUAGE: Set user language, supporting Simplified Chinese, English and French.
Note: After the user language has set, you need to click the “APPLY” button, then
click “EXIT” button to exit the Network Printer.exe, you need to re-run the
software.
 Image Format: set the received image format; support JPG, BMP, PNG, TIFF.
 AUTO RUN: Select the checkbox to enable this feature, uncheck the checkbox to disable
this feature.
Description:
1. Boot auto run feature in Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 OS requires
administrator privileges. Windows XP doesn’t need the administrator privileges.
2. In Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 OS, if directly open the software not as an
administrator to log on, even select the “AUTO RUN” function, this function will not work.
3. In the case of Enabled “AUTO RUN”, if need to close this function, you need to right click
and select “Run as administrator” to open the software and then to disable the function,
the “AUTO RUN” will not automatically run next boot.

3.2 Network Setting

Network setting has two ways: “Direct Line to the Ultrasound”, “Line to the network”.
Whichever way you choose, the default value is 8866 in the network parameter setting; usually
it doesn’t need to re-set. When set the network, it does not need to set DICOM parameters.
After the network setting is successful, you can network printing and transferring images.
 Direct Line to the Ultrasound

Schematic: Direct Line to the Ultrasound

1. Open the Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner.

2. Use a network cable to connect the network port of the instrument and the computer's
network port, and then installs the printer on your computer.
3. In the Network Printer software, the default way is “Direct Line to the Ultrasound”,
without requiring the user to set network parameters, the default value is displayed as
shown below:

4. Press key on the keyboard to open “System Preset” dialog box, select『Network Set』,
press『Set』key to show the “Network Set” dialog box, ensure that the default setting as
shown on the Figure:

5. Press key on the keyboard to open “System Preset” dialog box, select『Server Set』,
press『Set』key to show the “Server Set” dialog box. View the “LAN Server Set” in the
“Server Set” dialog box; ensure that the IP address is the same as the IP address of LAN
Server Set in the Network Printer software.

6. After setting is correct, you can directly print report or image.

Note: In the “Direct Line to the Ultrasound” way, the computer cannot connect to
the Internet network.

 Line to the network

Schematic: Line to the network

1. Open the Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner.

2. Using a network cable to connect the network port of the instrument to the switch, the
network port of computer also connects to the switch, and then installs the printer on
your computer, the printer sets for sharing; Make sure the PC can connect to Internet.

3. In the Network Printer software, click the system setting icon , select the way “Line to

the network”, click button, the network parameter of ultrasonic diagnostic

instrument automatically appears, as shown on the Figure A:

Note: In the interface “Ultrasound network param setting”, if not display the local
IP, please wait for a while to display.
4. Press key on the keyboard to open “System Preset” dialog box, select『Network Set』,
press『Set』key to show the “Network Set” dialog box, the IP address of the instrument in
the “Ultrasound network parameter setting” appeared on Figure A directly are entered
into the “Network Set” dialog box, as shown on the Figure B:

Description1: Set the network properties of the Opthalmological A/B mode
ultrasound scanner, including IP address, subnet mask, and default gate.
For example:
IP address: 192.168.0.251
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gate: 192.168.0.1
Description2: The IP address of the instrument and LAN Server should be on the
same subnet. Do not clash with other hosts of the LAN when setting IP address.
5. Press key on the keyboard to open “System Preset” dialog box, select『Server Set』,
press『Set』key to show the “Server Set” dialog box, the “LAN Server Set” in the
“Ultrasound network parameter setting” appeared on Figure A directly are entered into
the “Server Set” dialog box, as shown on the Figure C:

Note: In the LAN Server Set, IP address is the LAN Server; TCP port is 8866.

6. After the setting is complete, choose『Verify Settings』 button marked on the dialog box,
“Success!” prompt box will pop up, press『OK』of the prompt box, press『Set』key, and
then press 『OK』of dialog box, press『Set』key, that is finishing the correct LAN Server
Set, you can directly print report or image; If pop the warning box, please check IP
address and TCP port, as well as the network cable is properly connected.
Note: In the “Line to the network” way, the computer connects to the Internet network.

Description:
1. The default is “Direct Line to the Ultrasound” way. Whichever you choose, it requires
administrator privileges. In Win 7, Win 8 or Win 10 OS, directly open the software not
as an administrator to log on, even change the network setting function, this function
will not work. It requires to right selecting "Run as administrator" to open the
software, then change the network setting, this function will work next boot.
2. The specific usage of network print and transferring images sees the User’s Manual of
Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner.

3.3 DICOM parameter setting

After the success of the network settings, set the DICOM parameters, ultrasound images
can be transmitted to the DICOM server.
1. Set the DICOM parameters in the Network Printer software, as shown on the Figure
AA:
(1) DICOM service IP: the default IP is 192.168.0.252. Whichever way you choose “Direct
Line to the Ultrasound” or “Line to the network”; the entered IP should be the same as
DICOM service IP.
(2) DICOM service port: is fixed value “104”.

2. Press key on the keyboard to open “System Preset” dialog box, select『Server Set』,
press『Set』key to show the “Server Set” dialog box. In the Server Set interface, the
“DICOM param setting” appeared on Figure AA directly are entered into the “Server
Set” dialog box, as shown on the Figure BB:

3. After the setting is complete, choose『Verify Settings』 button marked on the dialog box,
“Echo success!” prompt box will pop up, press『OK』of the prompt box, press『Set』
key, and then press 『OK』of dialog box, press『Set』key, that is finishing the correct
Dicom Server Set, you can transfer DICOM files; If pop the warning box, please check
IP address and TCP port, as well as the network cable is properly connected.
Description: The specific DICOM file transfer sees the User’s Manual of
Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner.

4. User Interface Introduce

User interface includes report interface, case database interface and system setting
interface. Network Printer software is composed of five function buttons: Report , Case
database , System setting , Hide and Exit system .

4.1 Report interface

Click button to enter report interface, as shown in Figure 4-1. The report interface
displays the report template, related report operation and the displayed images list.

4.1.1 Report Template

The system provides five kinds of report templates. Report templates are: Single Image B,
Double Images B, Type A, IOL Calculate and Pure Images. Five kinds of report templates are
shown in Figure 4.1.1.1 to Figure 4.1.1.5.

In the report interface, click the " " icon at the left corner of report, pop up "Open"
dialog box, select the desired icon, and then the selected icon will be shown on the
ophthalmological ultrasonic medical report.

4.1.1.1 Single Image B Report Template

In the single image B report interface, ultrasound number is automatically generated by
the system, no need to input. According to the need, the operator can input information, such
as hospital number, ward zone number, bed number, ID, OS/OD, name, sex and age. Or,

press key on the keyboard of Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner, click
“Transfer” button on the “Patient Data Input” dialog box, the patient information (Name, Age,
ID, Sex) will be directly transferred to Network Printer.

Press key on the keyboard of Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner or long
press foot switch for 3 to 5 seconds to transfer the ultrasonic image to Network Printer
software, and the Network Printer software receives the image. The operator drags the image
into the “Image” box of the report. Only one image is displayed in the single image B report.
In the “VIEW” and “RESULT” column, user can directly enter the diagnostic content; or
right-click the shortcut to select the desired diagnostic content or special character, the content
can be displayed in real time on the right box, easy for user to preview.

4.1.1.2 Double Images B Report Template

Two ultrasonic images are displayed in the double images B report. The specific operation is
the same as single image B report.

4.1.1.3 Type A Report Template

In the Type A report interface, ultrasound number is automatically generated by the system,
no need to input. According to the need, the operator can input information, such as hospital
number, ward zone number, bed number, ID, OS/OD, name, sex and age. Or, press key on
the keyboard of Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner, click “Transfer” button on the
“Patient Data Input” dialog box, the patient information (Name, Age, ID, Sex) will be directly
transferred to Network Printer.
Type A report displays the waveform image and the A-scan measurement data; A-scan
measurement data includes the A-ultrasound biological data and the IOL calculation data.
Press key on the keyboard of Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner or long press
foot switch for 3 to 5 seconds to transfer the waveform image and measurement data to Network
Printer software, and the Network Printer software receives the image and data. The operator
drags the waveform image into the “Image” box of the report. A-scan measurement data is
obtained automatically from the Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner.
Note: When dragging a waveform image to the “Image” box, the image must keep
consistent with the left/right eye.

4.1.1.4 IOL Calculation Report Template

In the IOL calculation report interface, ultrasound number is automatically generated by
the system, no need to input. The operator can input hospital number, ward zone number, bed
number according to the need.
OS/OD, name, sex and age can be obtained automatically from the Ophthalmological
A/B mode ultrasound scanner, also be inputted or edited by the operator.
IOL calculation report displays the IOL calculation data. IOL calculation data is obtained
automatically from the Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner. In the IOL calculation

interface of the Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner, press key or long press
foot switch for 3 to 5 seconds to transfer the IOL calculation data to Network Printer software,
and the Network Printer software receives the IOL data.

4.1.1.5 Pure Images Report Template

In the pure images report interface, only display four ultrasonic images. The specific
operation is the same as single image B report.

4.1.2 Report Operating

The system provides the following reporting functions.

New: New case

Save: The current case is saved to the case

database.

Save WORD Doc:

Report saved as WORD format file

Print: Print out five kinds of format report

Preview: Preview report

Import Image: The desired images are imported to

the right image list

Export Image: The right images are exported to

the desired path

Transfer Patient Information: Transfer the patient

information on the Network Printer to the
Opthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner

4.1.3 Display images

: Display the images on the current

area, click the buttons and below to
switch display the images.

and : Display the images on the

temporary area 1 or 2, click the buttons
and below to switch display the images.

: The images in the temporary area 1 or

2 are transferred to the current area, user
only load the images on the current area to
the report.

: When select the current area, empty

Take Single Image B report for example, specific steps are as follows:
(1) Click button to enter report interface, user can select the desired report template, such as
Single Image B report.
(2) Click button to start new patient examination. In the report interface, you can
input hospital number, ward zone number, bed number, OS/OD, name, sex and age.
Ultrasound number is automatically generated by the system, no need to input, each click
“New” button, ultrasound number will automatically turn a sliding scale, such as the default is
00000001, click “New”, the number automatically becomes 00000002.
(3) Load ultrasound images to the report. There are two ways, one is to receive images transferred
by Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner and load to the report; the other is through
the "Import Image" way, the images are loaded to the report.
 Load the images transferred by the Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner to the
report
① If select the button, the images transferred by ultrasonic diagnostic instrument
will be stored in the current area, hold down the left mouse button to select the
desired image in the current area of the right side, directly drag into the “Image”
box of the report and then release the left mouse button.
② If select the or button, the images transferred by the Ophthalmological A/B
mode ultrasound scanner will be stored in the temporary area 1 or 2. The images in
the area of “tem1” or “tem2” are not directly dragged into the “Image” box of the
report. Select “tem1” or “tem2”, click button, the images in the area of “tem1”
or “tem2” are transferred to the “Cur” area, and then drag the images into the
“Image” box of the report.
 through the "Import Image" way, load the images to the report
① Select the button, click button, select the path need to be
imported image, appear the success dialog box, click “OK”, the selected images are
all imported to the current area at the right side of image list; If
select or button, the selected images will be all imported to the temporary
area 1 or 2 at the right side of image list. Click the buttons and below to switch
display the imported images.
② The images on the current area at the right side of image list are directly drag into
the “Image” box of the report.
Note: The images on the temporary area can be transferred to the current area,
but the images on the current area are not transferred to the temporary
area. You must first transfer images on the temporary area to the current
area, and then drag images on the current area into the “Image” box of the
report.
Description:
1. When there are multiple patients in order to check, you can place the current
patient images to the current area, the follow-up patient images in turn were
placed to the temporary area 1 or 2. First import the images of the current
area into the report, edit the contents of report and output the report. And

then “New” report, the images on the temporary area 1 or 2 are transferred to
the current area, edit the report and sequentially output other patients report,
which can improve work efficiency.
2. Double click the image in the list of right images, you can enlarge the image.
3. Double click the image in the “Image” box to pop up properties dialog box; you
can adjust the brightness and contrast of the images on the “Image” box and
the image list.
4. The images on the temporary area 1 or 2 are stored in the "TempImg1" and
"TempImg2" respectively.
(4) In the “VIEW” and “RESULT” column, user can directly enter the diagnostic content; or
right-click the shortcut to select the desired diagnostic content or special character, the content
can be displayed in real time on the right box, easy for user to preview.

(5) After completed the editing of report, user can click button to save the
report to case database; or click button to save the report as WORD format.
Click or button to print out the report.
(6) Import/Export or Empty images:
 Import Image
Select the button, click button, select the path need to be
imported image, appear the success dialog box, click “OK”, the selected images are all

imported to the current area at the right side of image list; If select or button,
the selected images will be all imported to the temporary area 1 or 2 at the right side of
image list. Click the buttons and below to switch display the imported images.

Note: “Import Image” need to import the folder stored the images, not directly
import images.
 Export Image
Select the button, click button, select the path need to be
exported image, appear the success dialog box, click “OK”, the images on the current
area at the right side of image list are all exported to the selected path; If
select or button, the images on the temporary area 1 or 2 are all exported to
the selected path.

 Empty Image
Select the current area or temporary area 1 or 2, click button to empty the images
on the selected area.

4.2 Case database interface

Click database button to enter case database interface, as shown in Figure 4-2.

The case database interface provides the following fields: ultrasound number, hospital
number, ward zone number, bed number, ID, name, sex, age, OS/OD, check date, doctor, view,
result and IOL calculation. Click on any of the fields, the content will be automatically sorted
according to certain rules, such as ultrasound number is sorted by size, as follows:

(1) Query function

Click button to enter query page:

The query page provides the following fields: ultrasound number, hospital number, ward
zone number, bed number, ID, name, sex, OS/OD, doctor, OS IOL calculation, OD IOL
calculation, age, check date, view and result.
The inquire method:
 Query according to the search field, such as: select the checkbox, enter hospital

number .
 Query according to an established combined condition, such as

Description:
a. You must enter the condition sequentially by age descending and check date
from the past to the present.
b. If need to query the day of the report, you can enter the exact time of the day
or enter the date of the second day. For example, query the report on the
July 25, 2017, you can enter

; or enter

 Fuzzy matching query, as long as the term appears, query it.

After setting the search condition, click and then click to get
the query results.
Note: Whether which method to query, you must select the checkbox in front of
the search field.
(2) Statistics

Click button to enter statistics page:

Selected cases: accord to the query conditions; find the number of cases qualifying.
Total cases: the total of all cases.
Percentage: selected cases a percentage of the total cases.
(3) Open the report

Select one case in the case database, click button, jump to report interface and open
this report. Also double click one case in the case database, jump to report interface and open
this report.
Attention: The report of the case database can only be browsed and cannot be edited.
(4) Delete the case

Select one case in the case database, click button and pop up warning dialog box,
click “Yes” to delete the selected case, click “No” to give up deleting the case.
Attention: If there is no backup, cannot restore the case after delete, please cautions!
(5) Empty the case

Click button and pop up warning dialog box, click “Yes” to empty the database,
click “No” to give up emptying.
Attention: If there is no backup, cannot restore the database after empty, please cautions!

(6) Backup

Click button to back up all the cases to other path. For example, the backup file
name: Patient_2020-09-07.db.

Description: .db format database file can only be opened in this software. For example,
the backup file name: Patient_2020-09-07.db.
(7) Restitution

Click button to open the backup database file (such as Patient_2017-10-11.db),

appear success dialog box and click “OK” to restore the backup.

(8) Today’s case

Click button to display today’s cases.

(9) Display all the case

Click button to display all cases saved in the system. In the report interface, you

save a case every time, click button to automatically display this case just saved.
(10) Transfer patient information

Select a checked case and click button to directly transfer the patient information
(Name, Age, ID, Sex) to the current examination report, so that users can quickly obtain patient
information.
4.3 Hide the software

Click the “HIDE” button, the icon appears in the taskbar, the software is minimized
to display; click the icon on the taskbar again, the software is maximized to display.

4.4 Exit the system

Click the “EXIT” button to exit the Network Printer software.

Click the Close button in the upper right corner of the software, the software is
minimized to display and the icon appears in the taskbar, but did not exit the software.
Note: If exit the Network Printer software, the network printer of Ophthalmological
A/B mode ultrasound scanner will not be able to use.
5. Troubleshooting
If the following problems occur, please try to make corrections following the below methods.
If the problem remains unsolved, contact our company for support.
(1) When you run the software first time, please close the Windows
Firewall or Anti-virus software, if pop-up the security alert or appears unknown program,
choose the all access or unblock, the software can run normally.
(2) If you have run the software , ultrasound images cannot transfer to the
NetworkPrinter:
 In the way “Direct Line to the Ultrasound”, please make sure the Net Setting of
Ophthalmological A/B mode ultrasound scanner has been set to default value.
 In Win 7, Win 8 or Win 10 OS, make sure to open the software as an administrator.
(3) In the way “Direct Line to the Ultrasound”, if the Net Setting of Ophthalmological A/B
mode ultrasound scanner has been set to default value and ultrasound images still cannot
transfer to the NetworkPrinter, please manually modify the computer’s IP address, change
it to the LAN server IP address in the “Net Setting” of ultrasound scanner.

(4) If appears IP confusion when switching “Direct Line to the Ultrasound” and “Line to the
network” mode, you can modify the local IP manually and switch from “Direct Line to
the Ultrasound” to “Line to the network” mode, and then restart the Network Printer
software to return to normal.
(5) If you have run the software and network settings are correct,
ultrasound images still cannot transfer to the NetworkPrinter:
 Replace NetworkPrinter.exe storage path, and then re-run this software, pop-up
security alert or appears unknown program, choose the all access or unblock, this
software can run normally.
 Also to open the firewall from the Control Panel, delete
(Note: In Windows XP system, open the firewall, click the
"Exceptions" then delete NetworkPrinter). Re-run the software after delete, it will pop
up security alert, choose the all access or unblock and begin to run this software.
(6) If you click the software and there is no response, first to see if there
