2. Read Sarah’s email and circle the correct answers.
Hey Sam,
How are things? It was great talking to you on Skype yesterday. We never
seem to have enough time! As I told you, I am in Prague today. Tomorrow we
are flying to Rome. I can’t wait to see all the sights.
I know you’re curious about Europe so I’m going to tell you where we have
been so far.
We started in London where we spent two days. We saw a lot of sights and
we loved the city. But we didn’t enjoy the weather – it rained the whole time!
At least when we got to Paris, the sun was shining! We only stayed there for
one day because my brother wanted to visit Euro Disney, which is to the east
of Paris. Well, I have to say I prefer the American Disneyland.
After that we took the train to Vienna. I bought you a surprise gift there. I hope
you like it.
OK, that’s all from me for now.
See you soon,
Sarah

7. Suggested answer:
There are a lot of things to do in a big city: you can go to the cinema or the
theatre, you can have dinner at a modern restaurant and you can find
everything you need in huge supermarkets and shopping centres.
Unfortunately, cities have busy streets and the air is polluted.
Living in a village can be nice: the air is cleaner and the people are friendlier. I
love eating homegrown fruit and vegetables or buying food from small local
shops. However, I think village life can sometimes be boring.
I prefer big cities. I live in a small town but my dream is to visit New York. I
enjoy noisy places, big shopping centres and tall buildings.
