UNIT 1: FAMILY LIFE
* OBJECTIVES:
1. Knowledge
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Extend some more knowledge about family life, and household chores in the family.
- Memorize, extend and use the lexical items related to the topic family life and
household chores.
- Pronunciation: pronounce and compare consonant clusters /tr/, /kr/ and /br/ correctly
in isolation and in context.
- Grammar: extend, explain and use the ideas or concepts for the present simple and
present continuous tenses to talk about household chores in the family.
2. Compentences:
- Reading skills: read for general, specific and detailed information about doing
housework in the family, build and stimulate students scanning and skimming skills in
reading skills.
- Listening skills: listen for general, specific and detailed information about sharing
household chores in the family.
- Speaking skills: prepare and display describing pictures related to the topic in the
unit, act out a conversation, and role play a conversation.

- Build and stimulate generalization & conversation skills and creativity.
- Collaborate and build and stimulate students critical thinking, analytical thinking,
note taking skill, presentation skill, problem solving skill, self-evaluation skill,
communication skills in order to communicate effectively.
- Build students imagination, creativity, collaboration and communication.

LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED “HOUSEHOLD CHORES”
A) WARM UP AND INTRODUCE:
1. Objectives:
- To create a friendly and atmosphere in the class before the lesson.
- To give teacher and students chance to introduce themselves.
- To lead into the new lesson.
2. Contents:
1. Greeting and chatting
2. Leading to the new lesson
3. Picture description
4. Vocabulary (Task 3: Fill in the table)
5. Conversation (Task 1: Listen and read)

- A short description of a picture related to the topic of the lesson.
- Verbs or phrasal verbs related to the topic of the leson.
- Pratcical conversation between Nam and Minh.
