 Integration of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with RuPay credit cards has significantly

boosted the distribution and issuance of these domestic cards.

 The pace of credit growth of commercial banks in India is expected to moderate in the current

financial year (FY25) to 12-14% due to challenges in raising resources and regulatory

concerns on unsecured credit.

 India's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI), announced that its board has approved a plan

to raise to $3 billion through debt in the current financial year.

 The Automated Sweep-In and Sweep-Out System (ASISO), utilized by banks for managing
daily liquidity requirements with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), experienced its first
malfunction since its inception nearly four years ago.
 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1,45,50,000 (₹1.45

crore) on the Central Bank of India (CBI), citing deficiencies in regulatory compliance.

 RBI has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹96.40 Lakh on Sonali Bank PLC (Public Limited

Company).

 The State Bank Of India (SBI) has concluded the issuance of $100 million foreign bonds

which will be issued through SBI’s London branch on June 20 2024.

 Insurance regulator Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has issued a

master circular on submission of returns for insurers, including foreign reinsurance branches

(FRBs), on the 202 regulatory returns to be filed.

 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been awarded the Risk Manager of the Year Award

2024 by London-based Central Banking.

 Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund has launched the Baroda BNP Paribas Manufacturing

Fund, which is an open-ended equity scheme predominantly investing in manufacturing

themes.

 The City Union Bank (CUB) has introduced digital lending processes tailored for Micro, Small,

and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the licence of Purvanchal Co-operative Bank,

Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh as it does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.

 The Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in India hold a dominant position in the banking sector by

accounting for more than 50% of the banking business in terms of market share, branches,

regulatory approvals.
 Multi-lateral development lender Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a USD 170 million
(over Rs 1,418 crore) policy-based loan to improve India's health system preparedness and
capacity to respond to future pandemics.
 India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) announced a partnership with Ria Money Transfer to
facilitate international remittances, particularly for rural customers.

 India will need investments between USD 190 to 215 billion to achieve its goal of 500 gigawatts
(GW) of renewable energy capacity by 2030, according to Moody's Ratings.
 India ranks as the second-largest emitter of nitrous oxide (N2O) globally, a greenhouse gas
significantly more potent than carbon dioxide in terms of atmospheric heating.
 The Centre has extended the scheme for digitizing patients' health records and linking them with

the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Account (ABHA ID) by one year.
