: # SCARY BEGINNING.

## Chapter 1

It was one hell of a morning for her, Sofia Dalton had been all dressed and ready to move
out. It was going to be one of the busiest days for her as it had been a day before the
weekend. She knew she had to make her plans for the weekend but still she had to go to
school.

She wasn't feeling too well, her morning felt so gloomy that she had the thoughts of not
attending school. The weather was windy and wasn't favourable for her.

Like every other person would do, looking at the mirror was not really her thing, "what was
there to look at?" She would always ask herself. She was obessed and not the kind of shape
any girl would want for herself. She always looked at herself negatively.

She got into the school and she walked almost lifeless as she tried to balance herself on the
ground as she walked. She was fat, and obessed.

As she walked past some of the members of her wolf pack, she could hear them talking
about her, they were all murmuring about her, she knew everything had been all about her.
She could distinctively hear what they were saying and definitely it was about her shape. Not
that she had any friends, as they all hated her.

She felt abandoned, no one looked her in the eye, and certainly didn't care about her. To the
boys she wasn't their type of girl and would never go close to her, and to the girls even
worst. They took her to be someone who was out of their league. But even upon all of this,
Sofia tried to stay herself, still trying to fight the thought that she wasn't herself. She didn't
know why they had to treat her that way like a beggar or a nobody.

She didn't want to get into trouble so she stayed all to herself. She was afraid of one thing,
and they were her worst nightmares.

## SOFIA'S POV

I had been walking as quickly as my legs Could carry me. I wasn't ready to miss this lecture,
especially after I had missed the previous one.

"What's this feeling?" I grimaced. I wasn't so sure what it was but I didn't want it to ruin my
day. I kept moving with a smile on my face, I just felt abit excited over nothing, maybe
because I didn't stay back or something.

I didn't think I would see anyone, not when I knew that everyone had been inside their
classes. I walked up to the corridor leading to the stairs that would take me straight up to
where my class was.
Just then, I felt something which sounded like a pulse in my body. I was weird, so strange to
have this kind of feelings at this time, and before I knew it, I saw them with my eyes, it was
the pack. Well the one I belonged to, and most definitely the one I got to be afraid of.

I noticed the smiles I had on just faded away with the sight of the boys. Everything that
happened to me didn't just end in school, my pack also looked down on me, and didn't take
me like I existed. This caused me a worry or two.

He was the first person I sighted, it was Karl, Karl storm. Not many people knew his full
name but he was well known to be the Son of the Alpha. He was regarded as the king of the
boys, well he was still below his father.

Everyone, the girls especially, had their eyes all over them, and this I could notice but to me,
I wasn't interested, "of course who would want to be with an ugly girl like me," I said to
myself.

Wherever he goes, the pack follows him like bees that have just found honey. I saw him but I
quickly looked away, I never wanted him to notice. It felt like I was his regular punch bag and
whenever he saw me, I could feel my heart taking a race out from my chest, and it surely
never ended well for me.

"Ohh shit," I couldn't avoid this when it came to Karl, he was just the one person alongside
the pack that bullied me.

I couldn't run, that would even cause me more shame. He caught my eyes looking at him
and at that moment, I knew what was next. He came over with a witty smile. He pushed me
to the ground and gave out a smirk.

"What is the...?" I tried to hold my tongue from speaking. I was angry but in these situations,
I wasn't ready to face him. He wasn't didn't care who challenged him as he knew just the
right way to handle anyone who stood up to him.

"Hey, what are you doing out here," he said, looking me in the eye with so much hatred and
confidence.

"Nothing!" I said, trying not to shiver. I was afraid not that he would kill me buh I knew the
torture I would face.

"What did you say?" He turned angrily looking at me. That sight scared me the more I tried
as not as possible not to pee in my pants, it would only make matters worse. I tried to keep
calm and see if he would let me go.

I think he hated me, a lot of people didn't really matter to me as far as they could just let me
be and didn't bully me, but it was far more different with Karl. He bullied me wherever he saw
me and he was the one reason I didn't go to school the last 2 days.
The alpha didn't know this, he never knew his son was a school bully and no one dared
speak about his son in that manner. He never believed his son was that harsh, and whatever
was his decree was what we took.

The rest of the pack were busy laughing when he kept on taunting me, I could barely speak
and I was lucky the students weren't out of their classes.

It didn't take long when he finally let me go, my clothes were all rumpled and dirty, and I had
not even gone into the class. I had to hold back my tears, I surely didn't want to look like a
crybaby.

He had done his best by humiliating me and I didn't waste a second on the ground. I stood
up and ran inside my classroom.

I knew I was different from the rest of the wolves in the pack, I had noticed this right from the
day I knew I was a wolf. My eyes had a different colour from the other, blue on the right and
purple on the left. Not just this but something inside of me could tell I was different from the
rest of them.

I had stayed in the class for more than an hour and could feel my body already in pain from
the point where I fell and now, sitting for 2 hours straight.

I heard the bell screaming and just one thing came to my mind, that was "RUN!"

It was something irresistible, and I didn't wait to be told what would befall me if Karl and his
boys saw me again. I walked down the stairs, through the corridor and I walked out. Just
then I had a glance of them walking in their usual way. I had to move quickly, and as I finally
escaped their reach, I sighed in relieve.

To me, I had achieved the impossible, I walked home safe still looking over my shoulders.
The boys were relentless and would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.

Alot of people would talk behind my back and say that wasn't fine, I was beautiful. I didn't
know if I was fine or not. No one really told me I was cute, or had given me a compliment
concerning my hairs or clothes. I was all on my own.

Changing school wasn't an option, no! I wasn't even considering that. I liked this school,
Beacon hills high school. I was here since first grade, and I knew the activities that had been
going on, most especially the killings and blood shed everywhere.

It was rumored that one of the students had jumped down from a high building and didn't
survive. Well I knew that wasn't the cause of death. I had to keep my mouth shut, if I ever
said a word, I knew they were watching me.

I reached home and changed. I had to get something to eat and have some rest. Lol eating
was one of my best hubbies. It Actually was the reason I never lost weight, with the fact that
I had been born fat. Well it didn't matter to me that much.
I had wanted to keep myself busy to avoid thinking about what Karl did to me on my way to
class. I couldn't get it off my head, but for some reason, something did. I couldn't get my
mind off it,

"What is this?" I asked myself. And instantly, it began to dawn on me that my birthday was
coming up, I was going to turn 18 soon, but there was an issue to be settled.

# THE BLOODBATH

## CHAPTER 2

## SOFIA'S POV

I didn't know when I finally slept off on my bed, but I woke up with practically half of my body
facing the opposite direction of the wall. I was fond of changing sides whenever I slept or
moreover, talking with myself. It was a weird day to start with.

"What have I been thinking the whole time?" I shook my head. I couldn't believe I had
forgotten the most important thing in my life, my birth date.

"Nobody ever forgot their birthdays, or did did they?" I think I was the only person who did
and it felt abit strange to me. I had been passing through alot, especially in the hands of Karl,
I said as I grimaced.

Everything about him whenever I saw him felt like he was always looking for me trying to
make me feel Terrible, I think it was done on purpose.

No one ever deserved that, I said as I stood up from where I had been sitting. I kept
wondering why the pack had been treating me the way they did, we weren't that different. I
mean, I'm not the only female but they hate me. I never had a chance to speak well because
I was never given One.

Just as I had been thinking about just so much, the thoughts of me turning 18 came banging
yet again. I knew it had to be a special age, and being almost 18, I never kissed any guy nor
had I been in a relationship with one. I think it was going to be the age where I tried out a lot
of new cool things'" I said to myself as my thoughts ran wild.

I had a thought pushing me to get up and move out of the house, I dressed up and decided
to take a walk to school. I didn't know what I was going to expect, I didn't know what I was
going to see but I just hoped it was going well. Whenever I had this feeling, I knew it had a
unique reason and I had to keep calm and follow my instincts.

I got into school, and unlike a weekend, a lot of people were present there in school, it
looked like a normal session and this got me confused. I didn't know if I had to ask or just
keep watch.
I moved from where I had been standing into the crowd, everyone had been murmuring and
talking the whole time. I tried my best to pull through the crowd and get in front to see what
they were all pointing and talking about.

It was something that happened every other day but this one was a bit different. I got the
chance to stand in front and there only to see a corpse. Someone had been killed, and this
time it wasn't going to be the usual rumour that he jumped down a building.

I could see tears and bites from the claws and teeths of an animal. I knew this wasn't just an
animal, it was one that needed blood and wouldn't stop if he didn't get One. No one could
control something like this neither did they know when the deaths of students would finally
stop.

"Omg, how could this happen to him," I said aloud, trying to join those who had been
standing there doing the same. I saw their eyes on me, and of course all over my body as I
looked so fat and plumpy.

At this point I was already trying to get used to the looks, the "eyes on me" thing and all the
talks. Just as I was about to turn and head elsewhere. I halted. They were here already, who
other than Karl and the pack.

They had been giving off smiles to the girl that had given out themselves to the boys
because of how cute they were. I knew just what that smile meant, it was about to go down,
or just maybe they had already done the damage before coming out to the open.

I could hear the girl around me talking about them, they were crazy in love with Karl but one
thing was gonna happen if any girl was going to have a chance getting him, you would have
to be his battery, by letting him drink your blood.

Just like any other wolf, we fed on blood but abit more of food but Karl was more eager to
take blood and not worry about food. It was what made him stronger than the rest of his
fellow wolves. Well, I was nothing compared to the other wolves in the pack. I never went on
hunting nor did I kill anyone, lol I always felt powerless.

To those who knew, only one thing could be said about the person who died, and that was
that he had been killed by a wolf. Well, just one person was on my mind all along, 'Karl.'

Maybe because he looked more like a killer to me than a cutie. I allowed them to move away
from where they had been standing, just opposite to where I had been, and with that
opportunity, I walked as far as they could.

I stopped for a second, and turned to the boys as I saw them moving towards one of the
abandoned buildings in the school that had not been used for years. I had this urge to follow
them, maybe they had something up their sleeves and I wanted to know what that was.

I didn't know why that concerned me but I felt a huge air of confidence over me as I kept
moving. They had gotten inside the building and I couldn't go closer anymore, if not they
would suspect that they had been followed.
I quickly went to the side of the building where I had found an open window, I peeped inside
only to see them standing beside someone that was half dead.

"So it was them," I let out a whimper and immediately held my mouth tightly. One of the boys
turned around to see if someone had been looking but they didn't see anyone.

I hid myself close to the wall still trying to peep closer and the next thing I saw, they were
sucking blood, and this was one of the new transferred students.

"These blood suckers," I said almost aloud, and they quickly turned immediately facing my
direction. I didn't wait to see if they had followed me or not. I ran for my life.

I couldn't believe they would be so inconsiderate, at least even if they were that bloodthirsty,
it shouldn't have been the new student," this thought kept crossing my mind as I ran with
pace without stopping.

Immediately I saw the students, I slowed and continued walking. I never looked back,
although I would have known if someone or something had followed me. My ears were abit
sharp.

I heard someone shout "hey! Come here!" But I couldn't turn back, Nahhh! I couldn't make
that mistake. I didn't know the voice but I knew it must have been one of the boys. Maybe
they Suspected I was the one or something, but I wasn't ready to turn back now.

I walked past the students, this time around they all were focusing on the dead body and
taking pictures, I gathered more speed and went out of the school through the gate.

Beacon hills had been one of the most dangerous schools were werewolves took as their
own. It was where the prey could be caught, and for a fact, was where the hunter could also
become prey. It was hard to see vampires, but I could see they were always lurking around
in their human form.

I was back home and the thought of what I saw back at the abandoned house kept haunting
me. I wish I could just wipe out that particular memory or just sleep off.

Well I knew one thing, "if Karl had his eyes on me, I would have been dead by now, he
wouldn't have let me go free, but I'm still alive which means that I wasn't seen."

I just hoped that my birthday wasn't going to be more of a bloodbath than a happy
Celebration. Just so many things had to happen immediately I turned 18.

By this time, I was counting days until my birthday. I was waiting for so many things to reveal
themselves, especially why my eyes were that way. No one wanted to give me an answer.
Well, unless they didn't know why.

My parents never told me why, well dad never had a chance. Mom didn't know why my eyes
had different colours, even the doctors didn't know.
I knew this wasn't a problem, and had nothing to do with my parents, it was something about
me that I needed to discover, and I knew the time had been drawing nearer.

# A DAY OFF

## CHAPTER 3

## KARL'S POV

It has been days and I certainly had not seen her, that plumpy fat ass bitch. Everytime I
looked at her it felt to me that I should snap her throat, but surely that would be bad for me. I
didn't know the reason, but I couldn't just kill her. That was why I had to torture her as long
as I could. I could do just anything but it seemed there was a force stopping me when it
came to her.

Days back at the abandoned house, I caught her scent buh she ran away. I didn't want to go
after her as I would have missed a very important meal. I had found a way to know if she
was around me just through her scent.

"She is ugly, fat, name it. But there is something really special about her eyes," I said. I had
not seen anyone else with her type of eyes. It was really rare.

I had been asking outside of the town the people that knew about those kinds of eyes to
avoid suspicion but no one knew what it meant. I didn't really take it as important but I knew I
had to keep close watch, and my boys were helping me with that.

## SOFIA'S POV

As the days drew by, It was dew for me to know that there was a rule, a norm that governed
the werewolves made by the moon goddess. It was about all the wolves who were just about
to turn 18, a norm that we would be assigned a mate.

I had this feeling of excitement that kept coming and I couldn't resist it. Maybe it was
because something new definitely was going to come my way. But I didn't know what that
would be. My expectations had been rising each day that came as the day of my birth was
getting closer.

I kept wondering who my mate would be, ofcourse it was not in my place to decide that, it
was all the moon goddess's decision. The moon goddess was one I grew up to hear about. I
had never seen her before but I surely heard of her wonderful deeds to the wolf kingdom.

But nevertheless, we were not to disobey her rules. Anyone who dared defile her commands
were punished. The punishments given to those werewolves were brutal. I'm not even sure
anyone survived it. This was one of the things that instilled fear into me.
***

Sofia had all day to think about her birthday, especially what was to come after that, but
suddenly a strange thought came to her mind. She had never experienced this before.

She didn't know why she couldn't get the thought of Karl out of her head. It kept sticking, not
that she was in love with him or something but the thought kept coming.

She wasn't expecting that to come to her head, certainly for the fact that Karl was her worst
enemy. He tortured her like one of his slaves and didn't even care about the damage he
inflicted on her. She couldn't stand even the sight of him, he was a devil in disguise.

The only way she knew she would be safe was that she had to steer clear of his sight,
especially those eyes. They were charming but the brutal torture made Sofia have a feeling
of hate towards him.

***

## SOFIA'S POV

I had locked myself up in my room without seeing the light of the Day, I had not gone out for
more than half of the day. Surely, I needed some light and definitely had to stand up.

I felt so stiff like a stick so I stood up immediately. "Uhhhh.... ahhhh!" I said releasing some
sounds from my mouth as I stretched my body.

I went into the kitchen to get some coffee I could drink but, "shiiiit!" There was no tea!

I was the kind of person that couldn't take her coffee without adding tea.

"god damnit!" I said walking back to the room to put on my clothes. I had to go out and get
something to eat, I was really hungry.

I had reached a certain point where I could smell blood and could resist it, unlike those
bastard guys that feed daily on humans.

I stepped out of my home and immediately I locked the door. There had been a lot of
incidents that were reported weeks ago that there was a break-in into one of the houses that
some students had stayed in. Well I wasn't ready to hear any story that would hit me hard,
so I always locked my door before ever going out.

I moved from where I was standing to locate the nearest Eatery or a place I could get some
snacks to eat. Just then, I didn't know why but my heart skipped.

I seemed like someone I didn't know had been following me the whole time. I didn't know
why or if he had been sent to maybe kill or kidnap me. But one thing was for sure, I knew
that I didn't have to look back.
I couldn't run , he would just catch up with me so I made it look like I didn't see him. My bag
fell to the ground and i bent down to pick it only to discover that he had turned his face
looking the other way.

"Okay, he's after me now I'm sure," I said as I was already breathing heavily. I could feel fear
crawling around me, but even upon that, I could feel my legs too all fired up to run.

Well it was something my body had always failed me for but I decided to trust it. I walked
much faster than the first, and his response this time was evident. He walked even faster
than I had.

"Do I know you?" I turned and asked him. I was ready tired of running and Playing hide and
seek with this idiot, I quickly gave him a stare after the question I throw at him.

He didn't give a reply and this got me more suspicious, I knew he had been sent to chop off
my head, or not. But that was not going to happen.

I gave him my angry look and he didn't bulge. That was when something pushed out my
werewolves side, giving it more control over my body. I could feel the anger and rage
burning in me immediately I turned.

From his looks and eyes, I knew he wasn't a normal human, maybe a wolf too. But why
would he want to kill his own kind, was the one question that I didn't have an answer for.

"Step back right now!" I said to him as he kept walking up towards me, this time slowly. I
could see his claws already growing from his fingers, and his teeth drawn out.

I had several choices to make, one was either I stood and fight with the guy now a beast in
front of me or I could just run away.

"Arrrghhh!" He almost jumped on me with his fist tighten but I narrowly dodged.

"How did I manage to do that?" It was a surprise to me as I felt already down on the ground.

He was just too fast, he came back so strong that he gave me a tear on my shoulders. The
cut was so deep, he licked the blood immediately and turned looking at me. He looked more
than dangerous and I was up for any thing that would ensure my safety.

I had a little opportunity to run for my life when he didn't fully regain his balance, sorry it went
wrong in his body.

I never knew if it was because he licked my blood or what, buh from his face, I could tell he
had taken poison.

Well I was not ready to take chances, I ran as fast as I could. I didn't notice any pain at that
moment as all my focus had been on my survival. I knew too well that I was no match for him
and... "I didn't want to make the mistake of attacking him, lol I wasn't that crazy" I said to
myself.

My weight had dragged me but I knew I had run a long way from the way I had been some
seconds ago.

Change of plans, I didn't go to get tea again. I think I really preferred staying alive than
getting your head chopped off by a wolf that looks like he had not eaten in months.

I finally reached home and I had Been breathing so heavily. I never for once tried to stop on
the way. This was one thing that surprised me. No one could ever do that!

I noticed at that instance that my wounds were all healed. "How come?" I was shocked.

Normally it would take weeks but this didn't take an hour. I just had to wait abit longer for the
unclear mysteries to unfold themselves.

I went into my house, I decided to take coffee the way I had seen it and in less than an hour,
I had slept off.

The way I slept was always so weird but this time, it didn't feel the same. I felt so safe and I
completely fell asleep.

"Is that him? It was a dream, I could tell!"

"I could tell I saw him. But what was he doing in my dreams?"

# THE PROPHECY

## CHAPTER 4

## SOFIA'S POV

I had been sleeping for about 3 hours and I could feel rain or something that felt like water
rushing over my legs. I didn't know which was either real or not.

I had been walking on a ground full of sand, weird because it was wet, it was my first time
seeing myself there. The whole place was so strange to me. I could only see Myself as
everywhere around me seemed to be so scanty with no sign of a human or wolf, not even
any other creature.

I saw myself by the side of the beach, everywhere was so beautiful and to me, it was my first
time being there. It was a beautiful moment.
I walked around abit just to be sure I wasn't lost or something. I saw someone, it looked like
a man to be me but I couldn't see him. He was facing the other way. It looked like my mate,
"Wow!" Was I really ready to go for it?

I knew certainly that when once I had my mate that alot of things would change, it was the
change that I had always been waiting for. But I hoped it was the right person I was gonna
be with.

I didn't know what to do whether to walk up to him or maybe just shout "hey" to whoever had
been there. I was more than supper ready to meet him, the one destined for me.

"Hello...." With my voice shaking, but there was no response from him. I had expected the
person to turn and maybe give a reply, but none came.

And I walked up to him and immediately he turned his face, I slipped and immediately fell on
the floor with surprise. I was shocked. "This can't be.." I stuttered with fear.

I had seen Karl, my number 1 enemy, and if I had ever owned a black list, his name would
be number one too.

"But why? Why would the goddess do this when it knows we hate each other?" I was
confused abit.

I never expected to see Karl, I knew one thing for sure, and it was that I didn't have anything
in common with him except for the fact that we belong to the same pack.

Karl would never see me and not attack me, he was always about him attacking me or
bullying me. To him, I was his punch bag.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him. He looked at me but didn't give me a reply.

I had this urge to ask him again and I did. But still, there was no reply of some kind. It was
unlike the Karl I knew, the Karl I knew would jump on me with great speed and tear me up.

"But why? Why did I have to see him and not someone else." I didn't realize this when I no
more saw him. It was like a dream that quickly faded into a vision.

I tried to look around but everywhere by this time had looked so different and I had been
feeling so uncomfortable, and almost immediately I was trying to gasp for air.

"Xhhhhhrrr," I let out a sound gasping for air as I woke up fully. My eyes had been blurry as
dirt had filled my eyes. I knew I had really come back now to the real world.

"What?" I quickly asked in surprise, "so this wasn't real?" I didn't know if what in saw in my
dreams was real.

"I knew it was all a dream," I said as I tried to justify myself as if I had known this right from
start.
I stood from my bed as my head and my whole body had turned facing the other direction. It
was the usual and I always laughed whenever it happened.

Alot of though had be scattered throughout my head which needed some explanations,
especially for the fact that that I saw Karl in my dreams and he didn't hurt me, also for the
fact that he didn't speak.

"Why was he in my dreams? Or did it have something to do with my..."

"Ohh Damn yeah it's my day!" I said immediately I remembered it was my birthday. I didn't
know why I always forgot but to have remembered it today was something special.

All the things that had filled my head had suddenly disappeared and the only thing I
remembered was the fact that I saw Karl in my dreams and that today is my birthday.

It was weird to see the person you don't like in my dreams.

He of course is the guy that has made her entire life since middle school a living hell.
Whenever I saw him I knew he would end my happiness that moment.

"Wait a minute!" I paused for a second, it seemed as if something struck me.

"I think that dream I had is connected to my birthday," I said trying to figure out how,
especially how I got to be connected with him.

I think this had something to do with the prophecy from the moon goddess. My instincts had
been telling me this.

"Is he my mate?" I said this because by this time already, I had to know who my mate was,
and he was the first guy I saw on my birthday. I felt so disturbed and didn't want the thought
to get into me.

"No No!! It's not true," I said shaking my head in disapprove. It couldn't be that the person
that had been bullying me for years would now turn out to be my mate. "I guess the dream
lied," i said not minding if someone heard me or moon goddess cared.

"Fuck him!" She said feeling all frustrated already and said. It was never expected.

"Why me?" I said. There were alot of girls out there who liked him, they could do anything to
get him and of course they would be a perfect fit, but me?

"How?" I said looking up and down my body. I knew I was no good when it came to my body
shape and size, and I knew I had to do something but what? I felt truly out if ideas.

I had to start my day with some smile but I knew that wouldn't be possible as I had already
woken up on the wrong side of the bed. I went in to the kitchen to get some coffee for
myself. I already felt addicted with the drink.
I was done and I decided to go back to bed, I had to feel abit free, and stop thinking about
that shitty ass guy, "lol he's a piece of crap." I cursed him.

At This time, I could feel sadness creeping into my body, I wasn't happy at all. I didn't know if
I was going to make the right decision by choosing Karl, well I was maybe going to make a
bad decision if I didn't choose him too.

"Who knows," I said as I shrugged my shoulders.

I started having thoughts about what had happened to be me yesterday, I felt like that beast
that tried to kill me had been sent by Karl, I didn't know why, maybe he just wanted me to be
dead for real.

Even up till this moment, I had no idea why I had been hated by him the way I was, we never
talked but he still hated me.

Just maybe he had seen this day coming, maybe he knew. Well I knew that I didn't have to
just sit down this way and keep quiet, I had to take myself out and find a way to get rid of this
feeling.

I dressed up immediately, got my bag, lol I didn't even have my make-up on. "No one would
care even when I looked pretty, so there was no need to go for that," I said.

I got out of the house, this time really careful. Maybe someone had been following me this
time, who knows. I reached the end of my road as I saw an eatery close by. I got in and had
a seat.

I ordered little food I knew I could finish, well I ordered about 3 plates and I knew what I
could do when I was in the mood.

I was eating feeling all comfortable and about to take the last scoop. I saw everyone's eyes
on me. It looked like they were being controlled by something or a power.

I didn't know what happened but I sure was frightened. I wasn't eating too fast or too slow
and I knew certainly that I never poured something on clothe.

I dropped the food immediately and went out. I lost all appetite I had before. I was more or
less done eating, and I walked back home.

I felt fear, something I had been trying to avoid for a long time. I didn't know what to say or
who to share this to, and I had been wondering if Karl knew about this.

I mean he always had his eyes everywhere so it was evident he could have known why all
these things had been happening.

I decided that I was going to see him but I had to plan something, I didn't want to be
disgraced and shamed so I had to make a plan, maybe something he wouldn't see coming.
But I needed one thing, Allies.

# THE HUNT

## CHAPTER 5

## KARL'S POV

I had never told anyone of my birth date. No one ever knew this, and I wasn't planning on
telling anybody. I had to remain strong and to achieve this, I had to lie to whoever asked,
only one person had to know, and that was me.

I knew that the boys and the members of the pack I had controlled knew this, they would
immediately turn on me. Well, there is only one person that has an idea of how old I am. And
that is my father, the Alpha of the pack.

He wasn't seen frequently like the other normal wolves. I was curious at some point why he
was always hiding, his response was that he was busy,

He added that the reason was also because he had some business to take care of, he
always said this everytime I asked him about his whereabouts.

I didn't know what he was always up to, but I knew certainly that he always had an idea of
the things that happened every day, it was like he had his eyes everywhere.

It was also time for one very important thing, I had to find my mate. I had been playing boss
and tough the whole time, but I knew it had been high time I found my mate.

I had no idea of who the girl would be but I always hoped she didn't look just like Sofia,
"ewwww," I said as if I had wanted to vomit or something was disgusting.

Something wasn't right, but I knew I always got this strange feeling, that I never liked her.

Each time I set my eyes on her, I always felt disgusted, which of course eventually would
result in the bullying she always talked of when she tried to report me to her teachers, lol.

I knew it was kinda weird, I always hit her for no reason but, "lol! Who cares," I smirked.
"She deserved a little bit of pain," I said smiling wickedly.

It would take a long time before I stopped bullying her, and maybe that time was gonna be
when I got my mate, or better still when I left college.

But for now, it was only a matter of time before I saw my mate, only a matter of time," I said
repeatedly to myself to boost my confidence.

I always went into a tunnel that was close to the school, Beacon hills high school.
I loved the dark and could stay there for days without being seen by anyone as I felt more
comfortable there than any other place.

Apart from this, it was the place where I took people I killed. I always feasted in there alone
to avoid creating a scene in the school.

I always had a lot of people especially females coming after me, "they called it ..... Yeah
love..."

"...What the hell is love?" I tried pronouncing it, as if it was a bitter word.

Well, I had no interest in that, so I used them as good meal instead. I always prefer the blood
of humans to normal food. It made me stronger and even faster than the other wolves that
took food that were planted.

The death counts in the school had always been rising day by day, and no one knew what or
who had caused this havoc.

"Well, It was I" I whispered to myself.

I had always wanted to be the Alpha of the pack after my father, but I knew before that to
happen, I needed to win any challenge that came starring at me....

Thoughts were flying through my mind as my imagination had been going wild, just to
remember I had been sitting alone in an empty bar. I cleaned my eyes to be clear I wasn't
hallucinating or dreaming.

"What? I have been here the whole time?" I was surprised, I didn't even remember what
brought me down here to this bar. I quickly stood up trying to arrange myself.

"I guess I was here to get a drink" I said as I guessed different options why I had been sitting
in the bar. I pushed the chair trying to stand up to gain stamina.

I saw a door that was open swinging horizontally from left to right and back. It had been
moving, which meant only one thing.

Someone, or something had either entered quietly into the empty which I had been in or had
quickly ran out to avoid being suspected.

I walked to the door swiftly to check if I could catch a glimpse of something or the thing that
tried to escape, but I saw nothing, the whole area had been so silent and dry, there surely
was no sign of anyone there.

"Arrhhhhh......!!" I shouted immediately as I felt a hard hit at the back of my head.

I didn't know what had attacked me, and had immediately disappeared, but I knew it was still
there somewhere.
I was defenseless if I couldn't see it, I had to do something.

I tried to listen abit more carefully if I would hear the sound of it's footsteps but then, the next
thing I felt was a tear on my back, the creature immediately pulled me back inside to the
middle of the bar.

By this time, I saw it's face. It was a wolf surely, but I had never seen this kind before.

I stood up immediately trying hard not to sure the beast my weak side, as I was already
bleeding from my back, I could feel my blood dripping down.

But wait a minute, I had caught a scent of someone, I knew this scent from before but been
bleeding and couldn't get exactly who it was. But I knew one thing, I knew that someone had
been watching this fight the whole time.

Maybe the person was the one who sent this beast after me, I just had to escape to survive,
it was the only option left.

I think the wolf that was attacking me didn't want to kill me immediately but wanted to cause
me alot of pain first, and then maybe he'll finish me off or I'll bleed to death.

But I wasn't ready for any of that, I didn't want to give up now. " I am the son of an Alpha," I
said aloud grinning but it didn't seem to intimidate him, he didn't even flinch.

It looked even more fierce than before, and came for another attack but this time, I found a
way to block off the strong hand that was coming straight at my face.

"Woah," i said to myself. I could feel the power he had and I knew I was no match for him.

And since I didn't stand a chance, I couldn't let him kill me too. I waited for the slightest
opportunity I could find to flee for my life and when it came, I took the window out quickly
without looking.

At a point, I stopped for a while to check and then listen if I could hear or see him coming,
but nothing, I didn't hear or see a thing.

When I knew that no one had been following me, I quickly walk as fast as my legs Could
carry me back to the tunnel where I could get some food and treatment.

But there was a problem, the students had been everywhere around the school and i
couldn't just walk in that way with blood all over my back, and my clothes all turn off.

The bleeding was already getting worse.

Well most of all, Since I was already looking so rough and dirty, I knew that no one would
believe whatever I had to say. I found another path where it could lead me straight back to
my tunnel.
I got there quickly and fast and I immediately took out blood from the bag and sipped it
immediately. This was one of the things that helped my healing process.

"I wished I had found out who had been watching me the whole time, he would have paid," I
said whilst trying to drink the whole bag of blood.

## SOFIA'S POV

I had found a way to talk with the same beast that attacked me the other day. I didn't know
him buh I had to, I was scared at first but I finally found a way to convince him to do it for me.

I had a little something as a bargain, and that was Karl, he had to kill Karl, or better still make
him bleed, I only wanted him to be in pains.

I had Been watching the whole time hiding behind a thick bush which was abit far from the
bar.

I had seen everything thing that happen, Karl was bleeding, which made me a little bit happy
cause he felt the same pain I did.

But on the other hand, he had escaped, "what if he saw me," I shivered with fear.

I just hoped that he didn't see me, although he had been looking at my direction when he
trying to run away.

I didn't know what would happen next, but I wouldn't have a chance to see the wolf again,
we had an agreement that I wasn't to see him again.

I think because of the kind of power he possessed. Maybe he had been looking over his
shoulders the whole time even with the amount of power he had.

I had to go to the pack, where all the meeting was supposed to take place. It was almost full
moon.

# THE BLOOD MOON COVENANT

## CHAPTER 6

## SOFIA'S POV

I had just remembered the night I had those weird dreams about Karl. It kept ringing in my
head buh I couldn't really understand the reasons it kept coming.

I didn't have a type of guy like other girls did, I only knew that guys hated me, well no one
ever liked me. I wished I could replace my body with a better one," I cried.
Meanwhile, I had been trying to walk past some of Members in my pack when I suddenly
heard them talk about the covenant, from the moon goddess.

"Yes!" I said as what it was quickly got into my head.

There was a covenant, it had been there centuries back created by the moon goddess,
which entailed that the werewolves would be assigned a mate when they turned 18.

Well, the interesting part was that it would be the moon goddess that would do it herself.

Well I didn't know how that was going to happen as I heard that no one had truly seen her,
except for the Alphas of each packs.

They were the only ones who had the connection to the moon goddess. That was one of the
reasons they were more special than the other wolves.

And then, my thoughts shifted to Karl. "That's weird," I said to myself. Recently, the thoughts
about Karl kept coming uncontrollably as if we were a thing.

My plan had not worked, and I just hoped that Karl didn't know I sent the beast to kill him. I
would be a dead meat before I even knew it.

I had never seen Karl so helpless, I had never seen him run away from a fight, but this time
around he had to run for his life, I could only try to control the amount of laughter that had
been trying to burst out through my mouth.

I quickly helped myself by letting everything out all at once.

My thoughts quickly switched to the event that was going to hold at night, surely I had to be
there.

Everyone seemed to be moving to the venue, I guess they were all anxious hoping to see
their mate. I think I had a clue of who it was or would be.

One thing I didn't know was if it was really going to work, "I mean who would want to kill the
other and still marry him or her again," I said and shrugged my shoulders.

I had to transform into my wolf form, I knew no one would know me if I did that, that was the
only idea that came to my mind.

It was fast Transition but abit pain since I had to break all my bones before I could transform.
I still had alot of things to learn that the pack didn't teach me.

Some of the wolves in their human form could transform into their wolf side without pains
and in a split of a second, while some had to pass through pains like I did.

No one ever told me how they did it or what the secret to it was. Well, maybe because I was
reserved to myself.
{ FLASHBACK }

There was a former Alpha, he was the alpha predator of predators. He was one of the
strongest who ruled the werewolf kingdom.

He was one of the fastest too, he was well known for his speed, of course he was feared for
it. He could change into his werewolf form any second, anytime he liked.

He was hated for one thing, he didn't care for his pack, since he had his

One time I had wanted to flee because of how I was treated back then, I was maltreated by
my former leader and he was worse.

He knew many kingdoms, and he rules many too. Whenever his name was mentioned,
people trembled because they knew what they were up for if they ever defied him.

He had always given the fresh of humans to his children to eat Infront of other humans and
didn't care if his children were going to be killed alongside him.

There was no other king for years because no other wolves could defeat him in a challenge.

His people soon turned on him for not looking after them, they had to go in search of a wolf
that had powers and could defeat him.

To find someone of that caliber they were looking for, they had to pay a price, and the price
didn't come easy.

They had to find a wolf from another clan who knew him and could defeat him. They had
searched for that special wolf and he was none other than Karl's Father.

Karl's Father did the job pretty good and did defeated the alpha.

It was a rule that whoever defeats the Alpha in a challenge or who ever killed the Alpha
would be appointed the position of the alpha after the other had been defeated.

Karl's Father was then chosen as the new leader of the pack.

I was glad that he had been chosen, but things turned out that he was exactly like the old
leader. He cared less about the pack and more about his son.

No one knew how he bore Karl but I didn't bother.

Since he became the leader of the pack, I was left on my own to be bullied by his son. It was
just so annoying that he didn't care if his pack had eaten or not, he simply left us to fend for
ourselves.
After sometime, he wasn't really seen anymore, bit we just knew that he was everywhere, no
one knew how that was possible.

And since he wasn't seen, he left most of the job to Karl, who of course did things his own
way and not how he was told to do.

His father wasn't bothered, and that was because he didn't know, no one told him.

Karl had told the rest of the pack to be quiet about everything he does else he would have
our heads cut off. And with this, no one had the guts to speak out his bad deeds.

{END OF FLASHBACK}

No one looked after me, I didn't even know if the moon goodness could see what happened
to me and pity me. I had just been praying, hoping that my prayers be answered.

Well it was answered abit when he was replaced by the current alpha who no longer cares
about the welfare of his people.

I had only imagined that he was the head of the pack and would change alot of things, but it
didn't seem to be it.

I felt even more abandoned than Before, and throughout the years I grew, I was never really
thought anything, I just watched and learnt.

I had always thought I was the only one being bullied but I guess there was someone out
there too that felt helpless when ever she was around them. The boys never cared how any
one felt, and I just wished I could do something.

There was always this feeling of fear that was always guarded around me, especially for the
fact that Karl had been hurt and would suspect any weird look or movement.

I knew I couldn't keep steady If I saw him but I still had to try.

I was afraid, I was more eager to go, I was thinking that I wasn't going to be accepted by
Karl or any guy.

I finally arrived at the arena, in my wolf form. I thought I had been abit early but alot of the
wolves were there waiting for their mate.

I knew it wasn't possible to detect who was really who, except there was that connection.

I was at a corner searching for the guy, there were alot of people there. It was really hard
spot out Karl from the crowd.
I heard something walk past me almost immediately, the air I felt was so air. It was Karl and
he didn't know I was the one, atleast that was what I thought.

My heart felt like jumping out of my chest but I quickly held my body together. He kept
walking and then found a seat where he quickly cleaned and sat down.

He had been trying to hold his left shoulder, I think that was where the beast had wounded
him.

It was the first time I looked at him and didn't see him look so tough. Be wasn't with any of
his boys this time around.

He kept grimacing his face, one could look at him and know there was something different
about, maybe he had changed and became more humble.

But I knew that it wouldn't be that fast, Karl wasn't the person that would change because of
a simple scratch.

I always knew him to be the bully kind of guy and for sure, he wasn't going to be any
different anytime soon.

For a moment I noticed a sudden Change of mood from him, he looked more calm but as if
he had been suspecting something, or he actually.....

"Omg!! Did he catch my scent??" I was surprised trying to get lower to the ground.

His eyes had been searching all over the place, he had agitating this time.

And at once, he gave me a serious glance, he blinked and looked more sternly than before.

He had seen me, this time around, I knew the connection got more intense than before, by
this time, It had been full moon.

I was his mate..... But to him, I was dead meat!!

# TURN AROUND OF EVENTS

## CHAPTER 7

It was all about time, he had noticed something, maybe he saw known that there was a
connection between him and the wolf which he had been staring at the whole time.

Sofia knew that she was gonna be in trouble if Karl knew she was actually the one,
something was definitely going to go wrong.
There was a commotion all over his head when he was thinking, "is that my mate?" He had
been questioning himself over and over again trying to force out an answer from his
thoughts.

Someone came and tapped karl, something was going on at the other side of the arena, but
he didn't flinch, he didn't want to be distracted.

His thoughts and mind had been focused only on the wolf he didn't know was Sofia, the one
person he hated seriously.

Finally he turned to where the person who tapped him had showed him, something he didn't
know was going on and he wasn't sure if to stand up and leave or not.

He was interested in one thing, he wanted to know who that wolf was, of course there was a
connection between the two of them.

He only hoped his mind was not playing games with him.

## SOFIA'S POV

He had been staring at me the whole time and I just hoped he didn't know it was me. It
would probably have been my end.

His face looked so serious, suspicious yet as if someone had immediately made him angry
when he saw me in my wolf form or he had seen something in me.

At this time it had dawn on me that he was my mate, or my mate to be. I didn't know if he
knew the same thing but from the look on his face, I didn't know if he did or not.

At this time, Karl had turned his face, looking the other way at everything that had been
going on, I think it was about the wolves and their mate.

Something was happening to almost everyone at once at the arena.

I saw Karl standing up as some people had been squealing as if there was a sudden
incident. He looked so concerned as if he had been called to go there or something.

He began to walk gently towards where the noise had been coming from. He kept moving
and at a distance he stopped immediately.

All that crossed my mind was that something had stung him, he looked numb and didn't
move for a while.

He at once turned again to my direction and from his face, one could tell that he was in
shock or just maybe something had told him to turn back and look at me.

His face scared the hell out of me. I had just one thought on my mind at that moment, and
that was "Run!"
It was all that came to my mind, I was confused hoping that I was going to do the right thing.

I wanted to wait, I didn't know why there was a sudden change of feeling that was trying to
develop inside of me.

I knew that the thought of running away was paramount, but still I didn't know why my mind
kept telling me to go to him.

Just maybe they was a feeling of love, "but how?" I asked myself in confusion.

"How can I like the person that has been hurting me for more than 2 years. Why did this
feeling of love show up at this moment?" I continued questioning myself as I wasn't so sure it
was what I had been thinking.

## KARL'S POV

From where I had stood, I felt something or maybe someone telling me to turn back. I had a
feeling that my mate had been there the whole time.

I didn't know who the wolf girl was, but I definitely knew she was my mate.

I noticed she had been there for a long time watching me, which was evident that it was
really my mate. I just had to know who she really was.

I had to find a way that she would change to her actual human form.

But before I could even talk or go closer, she fled immediately. I had no idea why she did
that but I knew something must have been wrong.

It was only luck for any wolf to be my mate, and if she knew this she would be so happy and
not run away, but surely, there was a reason why she did.

No one would really want to run away from a guy like me, I knew what women really wanted
and I had a way to make them come to me.

Sometimes I was a flirt, I had many girls but never actually slept with one, because of the
moon goddess's covenant. The rule she made was that no wolf should sleep with or mate
with another person except the person chosen for us.

I knew of the consequences which I knew wasn't going to be partial but very severe so I
made sure I stuck to the rules.

But one of the reasons why I flirt with women is because I need blood more than any other
thing, and they simply gave me just what I needed.
I just had to know one thing if I wanted to be perfect with it, I had to learn how to compel the
humans and who ever came my way. I had to get them to do my bidding, this was something
only the Alpha could do.

This was one thing I didn't exactly know yet, one the Alpha didn't teach me.

I had been thinking something the whole time, and I got back to my senses to check for the
wolf, I just remembered that it had fled.

I had to look for the wolf, surely there was a lot of things behind having a mate that I knew
which prompted me to go in search of the wolf.

The left where I was trying to track her paths. Although it was abit easy but the further I went,
the lesser I could catch her scent.

I didn't want to give up either so I kept on moving around as fast as I could.

I heard a howl from afar, I knew it was the wolf. I quickly ran as fast as I could as I didn't
want to turn to my wolf form.

It had been full moon so I could see clearly what was around me. I reached the point where
the sound had been coming from, only to discover that the wolf had taken off. It was just a
means of diversion.

Something came to my mind, I think the moon goddess was trying to tell me something.

"If she is my mate, she will come back in no time. But if she is not, I will never see her
anymore."

The words kept reverberating in my ears as that gave me more confidence. I knew just then
that I didn't have to run after her anymore, she would just come right to me.

"How can you see your mate and run away? Or was she scared of something, or was it
me?" I said trying to figure out why the young wolf chose to take off just when I was about to
communicate with it.

I tried walking back to the arena where everyone I had been, I had clearly understood the
power of the moon goddess and I knew that most of the people there had found their mate.

I had found my way to the arena as fast as I could. I went back to the exact position I had sat
before checking for the signs of the wolf or my mate.

Something had caught my gaze, I was looking straight into someone that looked exactly like
Sofia,

"Was it a lookalike? Or was that Sofia?" I shook my head strangely. She had been looking at
me.
I wasn't clear why she had been staring at me until I saw her walking straight to me.

I wasn't panicking as I stayed put. She walked up to where I was, I could see her hands
shaking helplessly and I smirked.

There was a reason why she had been standing there in front of me, I think she had
something to say, and well, I was ready to listen.

She took a deep breath and her lips were about opening, she said,

"Mate.......!!" My eyes opened widely immediately as I heard her say that word.

"Are you...." I looked at her not in total surprise but weirdly.

"Yes I am...." She said as she saw me smile.

I'm sure she didn't know why I had been smiling but I knew one thing, she couldn't be my
mate ofcourse.

She was just so fat and all other girls looked better than her. There was no where I was
going to be her mate......

"... Not even in my dreams," I completed.

But it struck my mind, I was wondering just when she said "mate," why would the moon
goddess pair the Alpha's son with a common wolf…

## CHAPTER 8

# KARL'S POV

The whole time I kept staring at Sofia who stood in front of me, shaking like a sick little bird. I
think I had gotten her finally in my grasp and would just have to execute the plans I made.

But during this period I was still confused why the moon goddess had paired me up with this
bitch.

"This must be a mistake right? Or this definitely is a joke a something," I said looking
searchingly at her from her head down to her toes.

I turned my head checking the other wolves that had been searching for their mates too,
they had gotten exactly what they wanted.

"How, and why is mine any different," I said as I was baffled.

I never imagined coming together with this girl who looked like anything but beautiful. She
had never been my match from the start. Well I guess I wasn't the only guy that didn't like a
her.

"So we are a thing now?" I asked Sofia sarcastically.

She was about reply with a smile but I looked at her sternly, as if my looks had questioned
her smile, she quickly put on a hard face.

Yeah, I really wanted to take me serious and not smile, I wished I could cause her a little
pain. It was what gave me joy.

".......I think so," she replied with some confidence. Lol I smiled back at her after getting that
answer.

Well I knew I was never going to accept to be her mate, but from what she said, I think she
liked me.

But that didn't matter one bit to me cuz nothing was really going to work.

"What are you staring at?" She asked me as I turned my head to look at her. She had been
growing guts to talk to me this way because I had stoop so low to talk to her.

I wanted to show her the bitter side of me by either giving her a slap or hitting her. But
something happened to me, who would expect such!

***

Karl had a hunch that something was going to happen to him, something was wrong
somewhere. The Feeling kept showing up and never stopped.

He began to have mood swings, something that had not happened to him in ages. It came
as a surprise as he didn't understand and was already.

It persisted as he was now having alot of swings and was dizzy. Karl didn't understand how
just a minute ago he was fine and then all of a sudden he's having all this coming at once.

It wasn't about Sofia or what she said, it was him. He couldn't understand himself anymore
and had been standing there quietly, stiff the whole time.

He tried to push himself to talk buh no way that was going to happen. All he thought was that
he was under a spell of some kind, maybe someone or something had been controlling his
entire body.

But he had no idea why or who had been controlling him. He didn't know who to suspect,
well it would have been Sofia but he didn't know her to be a witch.
He tried moving his legs but he was numb, it looked like none his body parts had been
functioning at all.

"......what is this, what's going on with me....." Karl said not knowing what to do.

He couldn't talk as he wanted to call sofia for help, his mouths weren't moving as he kept
forcing to show a sign or something.

Sofia noticed how there was silence between the both of them and finally noticed that Karl
had been standing there the whole time saying nothing.

"That's weird," Sofia said. She looked at him again, it looked like the person in front of her
wasn't Karl. Just maybe he had jumped into another body.

Karl was not the kind of person that kept mute for minutes, especially when sofia was
around. And this got sofia already suspecting what happened.

"Was he trying to plan something against me?" Sofia asked herself quietly trying to examine
the situation careful.

It only meant one thing when ever he had been standing that way, he had something
dangerous cooking up in his mind.

Sofia didn't know that Karl had been under a spell and something, maybe someone
somewhere had been in control of his body. She hadn't seen the beast the whole time.

***

"My body...!! My..." I stuttered inward trying so hard to even nod my head.

This has never happened to me before, never did I experience this sort of thing. I knew there
was something behind this but what was it?

I didn't know what to suspect or what not to suspect.

Everything I had been saying had been going on in my head as nothing could come out from
my mouth.

"What is that....?" I looked closes trying to adjust my eye lids.... I was surprised,

I knew I had seen that before......It was that wolf, the beast from the other day who tried to
kill me and surely didn't succeed.

"What was it doing here?" I asked myself as I wasn't so sure if it had come back for me.

Fear struck me almost immediately and I fell to the ground. "Ohh shit!!" I said trying to crawl
back up, there was no need.
I was stuck to the ground as I couldn't move. I had the feeling of fear that kept on increasing
as each second passed.

"If only I could get up I would run to a safe place," I said to myself, but I had known that there
wasn't any safe place.

Well, the only safe place I knew of at the moment was my tunnel which no one else knew
about, not even my boys had the slightest idea I had always stayed there.

One thing was certain, there was no way I could get there fast, not when I couldn't even
move my limbs.

I didn't know if sofia didn't see that beast behind her. "Or was I the only one seeing this?"

## SOFIA'S POV

I didn't know why he fell to the ground as if he had seen something I wasn't seeing or maybe
something had hit him. This was really serious and I had to know what that was.

Karl was trembling on the ground helplessly and I had a sense of pity for him. I hoped I could
offer him help but I was still really afraid.

"Was this a curse??" I said to myself.

I had always heard about the wolf curse although I never knew of anyone that has been
cursed before.

Maybe this was the wolf curse and I knew I had to stay back from him. I quickly turned my
face, and I was in shock.

It was the wolf beast, looking all scary. How was it that I didn't see this earlier, and for the
fact that we were the only ones seeing this and the others couldn't.

Most of them had been passing when this happened and none of them seemed to be afraid
of anything, they had been looking at us in amusement.

With this, I knew there was a different kind of power this wolf possessed. I think it was a
different kind of wolf we had never heard of.

There was something I was beginning to understand, I think the beast was responsible for
Karl's numbness. But how was it possible.

This made me wonder how it was possible that I escaped it the other day when it attacked
me.
## KARL'S POV

I wasn't sure at this moment if it was real or not. Or maybe my imaginations had been toiling
with me, or so I thought.

I could barely even breath as I tried to calm myself down and not struggle. Almost
immediately I lost my sight as my eyes seemed to be covering up.

"What the hell....!" I said to myself.

"Was all this the power of that beast? Just how is this possible" I had no answers to this
questions.

I wished I could just unleash the power I had left in me. Well I knew I would not have done
much as I remembered the last time I had an encounter with it.

I didn't know when I managed to get up from the ground after more than half and hour of
being on the ground.

I didn't realize what the beast came for because it didn't look like it wanted to harm me.

I got my sight back almost immediately, but something had gone wrong for the past few
minutes I had turned blind.

My so called mate had ran off for her life. Didn't she see this beast? I was amazed if I was
the only one that really saw this.

And certainly, I didn't see the wolf anymore, he was gone. I had no idea where it had gone
to, and I didn't know it's purpose.

If only I had the answers to the questions I had asked myself.

Everything to me felt like a setup, one I didn't see coming.

# THE BEAST OF GEVAUDAN

## CHAPTER 9

Just when sofia had seen Karl fall to the ground just when they had been standing facing
each other, she knew it was going to be the best opportunity to escape for her life.

She turned, about to move then she saw the beast, and was surprised, but it didn't look like
it was going to harm her.

She never knew that Karl had not seen anything that had been going on. She was afraid that
Karl would take her as a betrayer for leaving him behind as all her mind told her was that
Karl had seen her take off without him.
Karl on the other hand, who had been on the ground trying to move his body and finally
succeeded and stood up. He saw that Sofia had taken off without him.

But to Karl, that wasn't the case, he had been worried about the beast and why was it just
standing there. It didn't try to kill me or even touch Sofia.

Karl smelt some rat and knew it was only a matter of time before everything unfolded before
his eyes. Nothing ever hid from him, he always got all the info.

He also noticed the whatever that power the beast used on him was, it had worn off and he
could move.

By this time, Sofia had ran as far as she could not even worrying about where the beast was,
but she definitely knew that the beast was gone.

Thoughts had been wondering round her head why the beast was there and why that
happened to Karl. What happened definitely was strange, no one had ever felt that sort of
power before.

Sofia of course at that point had been thinking of herself, with the fear she has faced back at
the arena, she didn't wish to see such again.

She had been running for hours and it didn't seem as if she was going to reach home soon.
She had been trying to find her house which was taking like forever.

Sofia had no idea why she had ran off into the thick bushes without trying to navigate the
location of her house.

Just then, she caught up with something, it looked so big like a shadow of something. It
looked like the beast she had seen before, it certainly was the beast.

Her heart skipped as she took a step back trying not to get noticed by the beast.

"Krrrrrhhh!" She broke a stick and the beast quickly turned quickly to see who it was.

"Who's there?" The beast roars loudly to scare whatever it was.

It was Sofia and he couldn't react. It was calm at that point.

"But why?" Sofia noticed this, she knew that this beast was dangerous but didn't harm her.

"I must be special," she said smiling for no cause.

Sofia had no idea why the beast had been quiet the whole time, it was unusual that she was
not used as meat.
Sofia had no idea that the beast been keeping tabs on her and had been watching her every
move. That was how he was able to come to the arena because the beast thought that Sofia
was in danger.

He had been doing this since the day Sofia sent him to kill Karl.

There was something about the two of them, but the beast didn't know what, it just had to
obey whatever Sofia said.

The beast had a small liking to Sofia and had to find a way to protect her whatsoever means
possible.

"What are you doing here?" Sofia asks the beast as she tried to converse with it.

Any wolf other than Sofia would have been Afraid but it was different with the beast.

She could feel something with it but didn't know what it was. But she knew definitely that the
beast wasn't her chosen mate.

She really wanted to find out who the beast really was. She knew it was not going to be easy
getting words from him.

The beast didn't say a word. He didn't always want to talk to any other wolf, of course no
wolf or human got the chance to even speak to it, Sofia was the first to do so.

"Who are you," Sofia asks again, this time she noticed that the beast had been trying to talk,
he wanted to say something, it looked finally that Sofia had won his heart.

"I am......" He stopped, unwilling to say more, he knew he was about to let out his secret.
The beast still was trying to find some trust in her if he was going to tell her anything about
him.

Sofia had to keep this secret safe if she wanted the beast to give her other information about
him, she kept this on her mind.

The beast knew that someone would come looking for him in no time if words spread out
that he was in the kingdom. He had enemies and that was why he stayed hidden.

Sofia had a way to continue persisting, and the beast finally submitted. He agreed to tell her
who he is.

But before he could do that he had to change back to his human form, just so that Sofia
could see the real him.

This was the one thing he never did in a long time, he was vulnerable in his human form so
he always preferred to stay a wolf.
He didn't know why he was doing this but his instincts had been telling him it was the right
thing, well maybe not.

The beast quickly turned back to his wolf form almost immediately, it didn't take minutes like
the wolf did and had to break bones before they could change, his was fast.

He goes back to his human form and Sofia stares at him, she was surprised, he was
handsome and really muscular. You could see his chest pumped out from metres away.

She swallowed whatever had been in her mouth as she tried to control herself whilst still
looking at his body.

"I am the Man Of Gevaudan," he said as Sofia looked at him in total confusion.

She couldn't tell what he meant by that, until...

"Wait! Is he....?" She couldn't tell if it was really true.

"I've heard that name before!" Sofia tells herself, as she tried to remember who and where
she heard it from.

"You have just seen the Beast of Gevaudan, and I am Sebastian valet" he said to Sofia who
by this time had been all ears.

She had heard tales of a legendary beast, who once lived for many years, he was
undefeated and was the strongest in his clan until the pack of wolfs decided to banish him.

Well, he was back, and he had been around for many years. And there was a reason he
came back, which didn't sound clear to Sofia.

This was the one thing he couldn't tell Sofia. He needed his plans to stay secret with him and
him only.

Sofia meanwhile had just remembered what he said about having a lot of enemies and
understood immediately why he didn't have to tell her.

There was something Sofia had not known, that an alpha was able to collect information
from another wolf, they could compel other wolfs to do their bidding, and it was going to be
easy on Sofia because she wasn't strong.

****

By this time, Karl had regain strength and sight, and was now stronger than before. Without
doubts he must have eaten one of the humans he met on the way. He needed blood of any
animal to be strong.

He promised to be merciless on Sofia if he ever saw her, and knowing that she must have
been with the beast, he needed to move with a plan.
He didn't have one but he knew he had to walk stealthily and avoid breaking the sticks which
were all over the ground.

Karl had been searching for Sofia, he had Suspected she must have wandered off with the
beast and needed to know why. He wanted revenge, and needed to know what it's
weakness was.

Karl quickly went into the bushes that had been near to where he had laid in search of Sofia
or anything that sounded like the voice of the beast or Sofia.

He knew he was getting closer and closer until he started hearing voices a few metres
ahead of him and he quickly tried to run there.

He knew it was Sofia's. He went closer to see who she had been talking with, it was the
beast but in his human form.

Karl had never see something like this before, he himself had heard of tales from his father
the Alpha about the man of Gevaudan, but had never really seen him with his eyes.

But now that he did, he knew exactly what to do, he knew just who to tell.

Before he could blink, he saw them run, they must have heard him coming and then they
took off.

But Karl had something bothering him, if he was truly the beast he had heard of, why did he
run away this time?

# THE ALPHA'S REVENGE.

## CHAPTER 10

### KARL'S POV

So the tale was true, about the beast of Gevaudan. I had never believed it was until now. My
eyes were wide open as I tried to look further into the dark.

They had disappeared and I couldn't hear their voices anymore. Well I knew I didn't have to
go after them. I didn't have the power to attack him.

I walked quickly back home, I was abit shocked and didn't want to start telling everyone who
and what I had seen.

I planned to keep silent and not answer anyone for a while until I had met with with alpha. I
knew that he would be glad to hear this news, he must have been waiting to hear this for a
long time.
I had almost found my way back home when my friends saw me on way, they were eager to
know where I had been the whole time and who my mate was.

"Hey Karl, where have you been, we've been searching for you man!" Jade said. Jade was
one of the members of the pack, and one of the youngest at that.

We had a way to teach the young wolves how they could hunt and feed themselves without
getting caught, and jade was proving to be one of best at his age, he probably did almost
everything right.

Of course we also had limits to how we could feed. They were some humans that had the
skill to hunt wolves, their job is to kill the werewolves. We were always alert and we had to
steer clear from them by all means.

I didn't give jade an answer, I think they were all interested in knowing who my mate was
and I wasn't ready to be laughed at.

Well of course I didn't tell them who she was. My answer to them was that I didn't have one.
I could never have taken Sofia to be my mate. Not now, not even in my dreams.

I knew I had to be patient, as the right time was just going to come. I went back home
immediately and went into the shower.

I kept wondering how she just ventured into the dark with some beast she just saw for the
first time, it was absurd. I had to make sure all of those thoughts vanished.

I had to move as fast as possible and meet the alpha, possibly tell him that Sofia had been
with him.

"But was I ready to involve Sofia in this?" I asked myself. I didn't understand why I suddenly
had some sort of sympathy for her when she was the one who betrayed me in the first place.

I was about leaving the house to the tunnel where I had unfinished business to take care of
when some members of the pack came around.

"What's happening bro! You didn't give us an answer earlier," one of them said to me.

I had just realized that they were the one who sent jade to come and ask me. That was weird
but why?

I didn't understand why they were so disturbed about who my mate was. Surely I was not
ready to disclose a thing, even though I found it difficult to say she wasn't my mate.

I was ready to meet the alpha and tell him what I had seen, but something was not complete,
I didn't have an evidence to show that the beast was truly alive, I only hoped that he
Believed whatever I had to say.
My main aim was to find a way to gain his trust. He was getting old and I was his only heir.
But there were suspicions regarding who the next alpha would be and I had to make it clear
that I was going to be fit to be the alpha.

Not many people close to the alpha had agreed this, they had offered another person to be
the leader in my place. But I knew they couldn't stand in my way for long.

I had sent some of the boys to immediately go in search for Sofia and the beast,

well I knew the consequences and it was why I told them not to attack, but to just take note
of where they were.

I tried to breathe in and out continuously, I knew it wasn't going to be easy to convince the
alpha about what I had to say but it just had to come.

I was about stepped out when I heard my mind talking to me. It was weird at first but I knew I
had to listen.

"Are you ready for this?" It all felt like I was the one speaking. I knew I was ready, or was I?

I held my head as I kept thinking of every possible question that would come from him, my
father was not someone that was easily deceived.

Just then I was already Having a lot of doubts, "Was I going to get past this? I mean, would
my father agree?" I saw myself looking at the ground for minutes.

"What...the fuck is this?" I said shaking off the strange feeling and thought that crowded my
mind.

I had quickly found my way to his door and when I got in and he was already staring at me
as if he had been expecting something, maybe someone for a long time.

I stood still trying to guess what was in his mind, I was confused if I had done something
wrong. His eyes had been fixed on me the whole time, and then I slowly walked down to
where he was sitting.

"Can I have a word with you father?" I asked him as I tried to sound polite.

"What is it you need boy," he replied with a really deep voice. "Woah that voice was loud
enough to scare a little child" I thought.

I think it was evident that he had been thinking of something, and wanted me out of his sight.
I certainly had to say what I had to say fast before he changed his mind.

"You once told me about a beast right, that lived thousands of years."
I didn't know if that statement sounded convincing but for sure, something had triggered him.
I think it was a memory. He had remembered something from what I said, this was sure.

Immediately I mentioned "beast" he at once looked at me. There was a reason why he was
Already eager to listen, well I didn't care at the moment, I just needed him to keep listening
and then trust me.

"Yes.... what about it?" He asked, giving me a stern look. It was almost scary but I controlled
myself.

"Well the beast you thought had disappeared for a long time is now back," I responded whilst
exuding alot of confidence.

It was what he needed to hear and I just triggered his curiosity. By this time, I knew he had
been expecting more news about the beast.

For sure, I was all out to deliver the news to him, but I wasn't sure how he was going to take
it or react, I just had to try out something.

"Are you sure of what you're saying?" He asked me this time around as if he had already
prepared a plan.

And I nodded in response.

He smirk, which meant alot of things combined but I didn't know what had been going on in
his mind. I knew that he wasn't going to wait a minute more, he was going to go all out.

He had asked me where I had found him and I told him. But one thing I didn't mention was
that Sofia, one of the members of his pack was with him.

She would have been dead before the next day came, it would have even provoke him the
more to do something.

The alpha gathered all of the wolfs in the packs and gave them instructions. I didn't know
why he never involved me, just maybe he had some other job he needed me to complete.

They all went out like hungry lions to devour the beast, I knew this was not going to be an
easy one, and I knew definitely that the beast was not going to go down without a fight,
neither was the alpha going to do same.

The alpha turned asking me....

"What did you see?" I didn't really understand the question he asked as I looked at him In
total confusion and he immediately knew I didn't understand a word he said.

"...was it a human you saw or a beast?" It immediately stuck into my head.... "Human" I
replied immediately.
He smiled..... "What's that smile for," I asked myself.

It was just as of he had been reading my mind, then he quickly added...

"He is vulnerable..." He completed. From the look of things, the alpha was no stranger to
who the beast was, he knew him inside out, and probably knew what next the beast was
going to do.

At this point, I think the alpha had got him.. There was definitely now no way the beast was
going to run to…

# LA MUERTE DE LA BESTIA.

## CHAPTER 11

### SOFIA'S POV

All I could only think of was to run, but to where? I had to follow the beast who I had found a
way to get to know him more.

He didn't seem like someone who could harm anybody but I still wasn't sure. He surely didn't
talk much, and I never saw him killing for no reason.

The footsteps I had heard Before had completely vanished like there was none, which
immediately told us that we were abit safe and could take a brief rest.

I didn't know how much longer I would have to run, "maybe days or weeks!" I told myself.

Sebastian wasn't talking, he never said a word after we had ran away from the first spot. It
all looked like he had been anticipating how things would turned out.

"More are coming," I suddenly heard his voice.

His voice was cold and heavy, I didn't think it was the same Sebastian I had been talking to
minutes ago. Something was different as he sounded more aggressive.

This indicated that something was going to happen, well he didn't tell me but I knew this from
all of the things I experienced.

"Your alpha will be here in no time, you should go," Sebastian said looking at me in a more
calmer tone this time, maybe because he wanted me to live as quick as possible.

But I was more eager to stay than to leave, I think he knew this but he was still persuading
me, trying to push me out from sight.

"Why are you pushing me away," I said to him waiting for a response immediately. I needed
an explanation.
".......hmmm," he sighed.

He didn't say a word.... "No problem," I said knowing fully well that I wasn't going to give up
until he told me why

"I didn't know you to be much of a talker!" He said, and it struck me.

I immediately felt reserved, I couldn't talk anymore. I had a million and one questions, to ask
him but I knew it wasn't definitely the right time for me to ask questions.

"But wait a minute!" I paused for a while. I had some thoughts coming on my mind.

I think he was trying to tell me something indirectly or warn me about impending danger. I
didn't know if I had any reasons to be afraid. But I knew he was right some how.

My thoughts switched to Karl just as I was about to speak to Sebastian. I did not know the
reason, but whenever this happened, there was something coming and I could feel it.

"You can do nothing....." I heard him say, it almost felt like he had been reading my mind.

Just how did he know I was going to do something, and that I was powerless. It just felt
awkward I was helpless, atleast that is how I felt.

I bent my head down, trying to see if I could pick up any idea that came to my mind.

***

The alpha had got him, or so he thought. It didn't happen yet but the alpha got everything
planned out. He knew all the roads and paths in his Kingdom, and almost all the
underground. It remained to be found the tunnel Karl had been living in.

By this time, the alpha had figured out almost everything about the beast, he had it in his
mind.

Of course it was not the first time he was going to be seeing the beast. But he knew he had
to make everything count.

It was only a matter of time before the other wolfs had come back with an information
regarding where the beast was.

Alpha of the pack had been waiting rather patiently for his wolves to return. They had taken
longer than expected which left him to wonder what exactly had happened.

Minutes after this, one of the members of the pack the alpha had also sent to find the beast
ran in panting seriously.
The alpha didn't look surprised, it was more like he knew or expected something like this to
happen.

"Please tell me that beast hasn't killed all of you," the alpha asked in a more amused tone.

The wolf who had been trying to catch his breath finally nodded his head, trying to make
sure he did have a heart attack as he kept breathing.

The wolf who told the Alpha what had happened, he was shivering in fear but the alpha was
no stranger to these things, this was the main reason Sebastian valet was called "The Beast
Of Gevaudan."

He had his way to get into people's minds and cripple you with fear. If a person wasn't afraid
then he was capable of having a chance to Defeat the beast.

The only person among the wolfs that could attempt this was the alpha, he had to be the
only one.

No one knew his weakness, not even Karl knew what his father feared the most. Everyone in
the pack knows him to be one of the most ferocious deadly wolf that ever lived.

"How did he know all of these things," one of the wolves that were present asked the other
who was standing beside him.

"I have no fuckin idea," he said looking sternly at the other.

I think there was some kind of connection between them and that it was possible they knew
each other.

There was one thing that could tell, and it was they knew each other or had seen each other
before.

The alpha was already becoming tired of waiting for anymore news and needed to be fast in
whatever he had in mind

He surely had everything at his disposable and was even more confident of winning.

Well he, the alpha was set to leave, he had everything ready. The rule was made simple,

"Find him, capture him and kill him," that was just it.

It was the dream of every alpha, to be able to face the one who almost brought you down
the other time.

The alpha and the pack immediately matched into the area karl had said he saw the beast,
they were fast and relentless. They knew they only had this one chance to finish him off,
they didn't want to mess it up.
The alpha had been mute the whole time as the other wolves had been complaining of how
long the distance had been.

Unknown to them, Sebastian himself had heard their footsteps and was alert. But the alpha
himself wasn't dumb.

He was extra careful where he landed his legs each time he had jumped and he kept his
ears wide open.

"Omg.....arhhh!!!" There was a commotion between the wolfs, one of them had just stepped
into the trap that was set by Sofia.

Surely the alpha had no idea Sofia had been among, well he didn't see her yet.

Alpha knew he was now closer, and most have seen him.....

There was another kill, this time the beast had come out in the open and most of the wolfs
had already fallen to the ground shaking in fear like chickens.

Karl's Father let out a smile, there was no antidote to whatever had happened to them, they
just had to stop being afraid.

The alpha immediately hid whilst the rest had been trying to fight with the beast who was no
match for them.

Sebastian had Earlier taken a glance on the alpha but didn't notice when he had
disappeared. This was part of the plan, one that the alpha hoped it would work.

When the diversion had taken place, Alpha quickly set up everything and was waiting for the
right timing.

"Hahaha!! Are these your warriors?" Sebastian smirked as he asked (rhetorically)...

The beast had singlehandedly taken down almost all of Members of the pack. But the
sacrifice was for a greater reason, one Sebastian had not known.

There was almost no one left except Sebastian and a few wolves who had been trying with
every ounce of power they had to fight the beast, well distract him.

Karl's Father had still been waiting doing nothing, he wanted to land his first and final blow
on Sebastian, he needed him to be gone for good....

"Ahhhhh take this!!" The alpha sounded with pain landing a pot of mountain ash on the
beast.

The ash spread all over him by itself, as if there was magic involved.
"What is this," he said as he sounded as if he had been in agony. This was the one thing he
hoped no one had known, it was his weak point, definitely, the alpha had done his research.

The beast's body had been already breaking Down back to his human form, he was half
death at this point.

He couldn't move anymore, but he had something to say, but before that, he pointed to the
moon....

"It's coming, she is coming!!..... And it's going.. to be worst than who I am," the beast Said.

But to the alpha, it sounded like a drunk fellow speaking as he didn't believe a word he
said...

The beast truly knew what was to come, as if he had come from the future...

Definitely there was much to be said about Sofia, he had seen through her from the moment
he saw her, he knew what would become of her, and this was the real reason he protected
her at all cost...

And just then, Sebastian valet turned into ashes, it was the end of him... The one thing he
hoped had gone extinct had Come back to kill him.

The mountains ash, this was his game plan all along, the alpha had figured it out.

#THE RUN

## CHAPTER 12

The alpha was relieved after everything that happened, he had won finally. This was one of
the greatest things he had wanted to defeat, and he proudly did it.

But this was at the expense of his pack. He was Almost left with nothing. Most of the wolves
in the pack had died during the fight.

He had to recruit in more wolves, u knew he was a man with alot of enemies and needed his
pack to be there for him too.

The alpha had not really forgotten what the beast said, he kept it in mind waiting for the day
his so called prophesy was going to resurface.

Of course he knew he wasn't going to die anytime soon, atleast that is what his instincts told
him. He felt really confident.

By this time, his worries had began to vanish, he never sent Karl out to fight because he
knew the consequences, he would die there on the spot.
Not that the rest of the wolves were stronger than him, but because the alpha knew he would
be worried about him, surely he wasn't ready to lose him to anything.

To some people, it didn't look like he cared, definitely not to Karl who had always been on
his own like someone who knew not his father, but the alpha truly cared.

He only wanted his children to have a life of their own, that's why he did all he did.

Meanwhile, Sofia who had ran away from the scene of the event was no where to be found.
She knew her face must have been seen by someone people so she decided to take off.

She never knew that Karl didn't mention her name to his father the other day he saw her with
the beast. This still kept her on her toes as she was alert.

She knew she was not going to be running for a long time, she knew she had to keep going
just this time around to avoid getting caught.

She arrived at a spot, it was were she agreed with Sebastian that they would meet. Faraway
from the town were we could be found.

She had been tapping her fingers eagerly waiting for him to arrive, but it didn't seem to
happen.

It was planned that they would meet there after everything, but Sebastian said something.
He told her that if he wasn't back, she had to know that he had been killed.

The thought of the statement he made early kept ringing in her ears.

"Is it true?" She asks herself, she couldn't believe that Sebastian would be dead, but how?
he was faster than the other wolves and much more wiser at that, so how was it possible.

During this time, she had already accepted the fact that Sebastian was gone and wasn't
going to be back.

She could feel her legs shaking and tears already beginning to drop from her eyes, she had
been struggling not to cry but she couldn't hold it any longer.

The little time they spent together was more pleasing than any other thing, and she knew
she wasn't going to get any of that for a long time, well if only Karl would change, "maybe he
already has.." she completed.

She needed to find her way to her house or any place she could lay her head down and get
some rest.

## SOFIA'S POV
I moved immediately, I didn't want to waste any more time trying to mourn, I knew if I had
stayed there longer than I had, maybe the alpha's wolfs would have come searching for me,
well who knows what Karl had told them," I added.

I began to pave my way through the branches and short trees which looked to be
everywhere, making my movement slow. I just hoped no one had been following me.

{FLASHBACK:

After the death of sebastian, the man of Gevaudan, the alpha had gone back to celebrate,
atleast he had achieved something big by taking the beast out

But also at the same time, the alpha had ordered some of the wolves to go back into the
forest where they had killed the beast before and search and bring anyone they saw.

He had a feeling that he had an accomplices, Someone who helped him set the traps that
caught his wolves. He needed to know who that person was.

Of course the person would have to be severely punished. Everyone in the pack always
knew that his punishment was death.

{END OF FLASHBACK}

As soon as I knew by myself that the beast had been dead, I knew just what I had to do, it
was time I fought for myself.

As I had been thinking, I finally reached a point where I didn't know where I had been. It was
weird, I was actually lost in this thick Forest

But I noticed something, there was no house around, I climbed one of the tall trees I had
seen there to check for the sight of a house, but there was none.

I came down and started walking stealthily, as if I had been Looking for something. I saw
some leaves gathered somewhere on the floor, as if it was covering something.

But what was it, I quickly went there, carried the leaves and then ......

It looked like there was an underground there, kind of a tunnel that led to somewhere. I was
abit sacred at first where it would take me or who was in there...

It was abit dark, ofcourse I could see in the dark but I didn't know if I was prepared for
whatever I was to see there.
It was my first time wandering off alone in the middle of nowhere, and seeing that tunnel
gave me a little hope of where I would lay my head for the night.

Just as I was about getting in, I heard footsteps, it was fast and didn't really make alot of
noise.

I knew immediately that it was them, they were the ones the alpha had sent. It immediately
came to my mind that they must have been searching for me.

"Over there!" One of them said.... Shit I think he saw me... I didn't have any other choice but
to jump into the tunnel.

Gosh it was dark, and I had no idea where it had landed me.

The whole tunnel had been smelling like a decayed animal or something, maybe something
had been killed, which made me even wonder more in fear if there was a wild animal in here
with me.

I had been trying not to sleep, as I was already looking out for myself. I was all alone, and in
danger. Something kept telling me I was growing.

At that point, I laughed to myself, lol, if only the leader of the pack would learn of this and let
me have a chance like others.

I didn't know when, but I had fallen asleep. Now this felt safer and peaceful. I didn't have to
feel Insecure about anything as that was just the moment in my life where I found quietness
and peace.

"Ohh jeezz," I said as I immediately hit my head on something, I opened my eyes... It was
the skull of a big animal, like the size of an alpha in his werewolf form.. it was morning
already. It Felt like I had only slept for 2 hours, or maybe I did.

"What I'm I doing here?" I shook myself, not having any clue how I got there...

Just where I had been standing, I looked up and saw some sort of a hole, which immediately
reminded me of the nightmare I had yesterday night.

"Phew," I sighed, I felt relieved I had gone past what happened yesterday.

There was light in some parts of the tunnel, it looked like the rays of light had been coming
from above, from the little hole that was there.

I took a walk just to see things and something really surprised me, there were so many
sections of the tunnel.
"Shiittt...." My heart was already racing at how I would get out of this tunnel alive. I had a
hunch that something was gonna come for me and this probably was the reason for my
fears.

I quickly walked through one of the roads I had seen there and then.....

I reached a crossed end... To my left was tunnel leading certainly to somewhere, and also to
my right was another.

I had no idea which one I Would choose, and I knew this was when I had to trust my
instincts.

I had to be sure, and listen carefully.... I looked to my right, trying to decipher what was
ahead.

I didn't hear a sound from both angles but I had to choose one...

I took the left, just praying that I came out of this tunnel alive... I was walking so fast that my
legs were hurting at that moment, but I kept on moving.

I planned to get out of there without getting into trouble,by trouble I meant meeting anything
unexpected.

I turned back and I could see that I had walked so far from where I had been before, surely
there was no turning back now.. and just as I was about to look forward, there was a
shadow.

I felt my heart jump out from my chest... "What was that?" I asked myself as I quickly fell to
the ground trying to act dead..

I just hoped it didn't come My way. Of course, it did. I felt my heart racing and I tried to
control myself and calm down... But I knew in this type of situations, there was no calming
down.

I had been praying seriously that the huge animal didn't see me. This was a creature I didn't
see before, so I had to be extra careful

I think my prayers were answered.. the huge looking monster had stopped half way after
confirming that he wasn't missing any meal.

Immediately he turned back walking to the other tunnel, I knew I didn't have to make any
mistake that would change his mind, I quickly tiptoed for a while trying to move far away as
possible.

I reached a dead end, there was nothing there again.... But there was a ladder, where it was
leading to was what I needed to find out.
I climbed up the ladder, and I immediately reached the top, the was something covering it,
and I gave it a push and it opened... I had to thrust myself up and I got out.

The sun rays quickly got into my eyes and I turned my face the other way trying to
accommodate the light... I looked again,

"jeez are you serious?" I had got out from a tunnel, I just saw my school..

I think the tunnel was under my school...

"And those dead bodies there means there are other creatures out here we have not heard
of," I wondered.

# THE HIDEOUT

## CHAPTER 13

Sofia had finally found a way to walk out of the tunnel alive, it was her only chance at
survival and she didn’t hesitate.

She couldn’t believe it, her nightmares had probably ended, well so she thought. She had
remembered hearing strange sounds in the dark.

They sounded like beasts or some kind of animal she had not known before.

She knew these were the things she needed to avoid, certainly, she wouldn’t be able to
contain the level of power they possessed nor even try to defeat them.

Well, this didn’t matter to Sofia as she had finally gone out of that place.

There was no more danger than she would face, but Sofia had forgotten one thing, She must
have forgotten that Karl had not changed, that he was still the bully kind of guy she knew him
to be. Well, she also had no idea the plans Karl had in mind for her.

The search had been over, without doubt, the wolves didn’t see any soul out there. They had
gone back to tell the alpha exactly what had happened. Of course, Karl’s Father didn’t bulge,
he told them not to worry.

Unlike the alpha, he would have gotten furious but this time around, he didn’t make so much
noise, he was already contained with what he got.

They didn’t have a chance, Sofia had thought fast and chose her options quickly, even
though they heard the sound of voices, they weren’t so smart to detect whose voice it was.
Meanwhile, the pit which Sofia had thought was going to be her hell had saved her
unexpectedly, it turned out to be a blessing to her.

She was tired and didn’t sleep well the other night. She had woken up earlier with some
back pains but still managed to find her way out of the tunnel.

She had finally arrived home.. it was a big relief for her…

“Ow!” She yawned trying to stretch. It was one hell of a night for her and she needed this
time to chill and relax.

She immediately jumped on her bed, didn’t even get to eat first, and slept off almost
immediately. Her clothes had been everywhere on the bed as she jumped on them, but that
didn’t matter to her.

She had been planning to go back in there, she had planned to go find out things for herself,
But she had to get some sleep.

Karl on the other hand had been silent about Sofia’s case the whole time. He was
contemplating if to tell the alpha or not.

But what was he supposed to do, he felt confused. It looked like the search everything was
over but he still felt the pain of Sofia leaving him for another man she knew nothing about.

## KARL’S POV

I had returned to the tunnel just after the other wolves had returned telling my father that
they had seen no one there.

I knew my father didn’t want to believe this because of what he saw and the experience he
has, but he still let them go. It didn’t matter who it was, as far as he had killed the beast.

I had not gone there for about 2 days, just to avoid my father suspecting my absence. I
stayed in the den waiting for him to return.

I knew he didn’t trust me that much so there was always someone somewhere that had been
watching me. All I had to do was to be obedient till he was back.

And if that was what I needed to do to prove and earn his trust, I had to do it.

I reached the edge of the building when I saw her. My eyes opened wide, and I wondered
what she had been doing there.

It was the first time anyone had come out from there alive.
It was Sofia, just so surprising. I had immediately thought of calling her but I decided to be
quiet and see what she was up to.

“Just how did she do it?” I was surprised. I had no clue how she came out of there without a
scratch.

I was low on the ground to avoid being seen by her just to see what she was up to. It was
not the time to be puffed up.

If she was with the beast and now she’s here, she was certainly up to something. Surely
someone must have shown her the way out too.

I saw her walk past the building which led to the tunnel, going towards the school. This told
me immediately that she must have been leaving the tunnel and not going in.

She walked past the school, surely she was headed back home. I had the urge to follow her,
but I was forced to stop. I had to go back in there and see what she had done or even have
a clue of what happened.

Where she came out from, was the same place I always went to feed. That was the place I
took the humans to feed on them, and I hoped she didn’t see any of those.

## SOFIA’S POV

I had woken up, my eyes had been hurting. I didn’t know if I had a bad dream or if I wan
been sleepwalking.

I think I saw myself elsewhere but in my bedroom. But it felt awkward. Well, that didn’t
matter.

I was once again remembered in my mind that I had been in one of the worst places ever in
my entire life. I had the thoughts of going back to check what and where those other tunnels
led.

I turned my face to the mirror still looking at my colored eyes, I just hoped one day I knew
the reason why it is this way.

I quickly looked away as I did not want to stare into the mirror for long.

I took a glance at my bed, it was so scattered. I just hoped rats and cockroaches had not
infested any of my belongings.

I took my clothes arranged them and stock them back where they were supposed to be put. I
shook my head immediately I knew that there was still much work to do.
I had a lot of things I needed to clean out, from dirty clothes to things I didn’t need anymore.
Well, I had to tidy up one very important thing.
And that was the plates. I could swear I had hated Washing plates all my life, I remember I
was always forced by my parents to do so, but since I was staying alone, I couldn’t let it be
as the house was already giving out a bad odor.

I was done with plates and Washing my clothes, I had earlier taken a cold bath just to relax
from the stress.

Just then, the thought of going back to school kept coming banging yet again. But I knew
why this had been disturbing.

It wasn’t the school, but it was the tunnel close to the school. I felt it was like a calling to go
there although I didn’t quite understand why.

I decided to get myself prepared again for school, I had to stop the thoughts of heading for
the tunnel. I knew what my intentions were for me to not go back to the hell of a place, was
not part of it.

I got to school and by surprise, I saw Karl and the boys. I knew at that moment that most of
them had been dead.

But even though, all I wanted to do is to escape from their eyes, I only hoped he didn’t see
me. I walked as fast as my legs could carry me just to escape his sight.

I tried to be calmer so no one would have to suspect a thing. But then he looked up.

“Did he see me?” I asked myself as I quickly brought my head down to avoid eye contact.
And just when brought my face up again, I noticed he had been staring at me for real…

I froze, but I was still walking, I think he had his gaze on me.

It was a signature move, but what did he mean by this? What did he have in mind?

# KARL’S PLAN

## CHAPTER 14

### KARL’SPOV

I had decided to go to the school today, there was something I needed to do, it was really
important.

I had just seen her as expected. I knew she couldn’t run forever and the time would have to
come when she would show up her ugly face again pretending that nothing happened.
I needed to have a face-to-face talk with her one more time. I knew the last time we met had
not been successful, so this time needed to make it count, and it did.

I had been staring at her for a long time now and all she did was try to avoid my gaze. She
couldn’t take it, yes! It was exactly what I needed. I needed to terrify her once more.

I continued to have it in mind that she is my mate. But nothing had changed since the last
time, I still didn’t care as much for her, or did I? I wondered.

It always felt like I had some feelings for her but I knew I needed to clarify this… There was
no feeling. I had to be me, the same tough guy she knew, if not she would find a way to ruin
my reputation.

Sofia didn’t understand at this time why he had been staring at her that way. He rarely did
that and why was he acting so different this time.

She had to be careful, she knew that whenever he acted like this, it meant something.

She had noticed something, Karl wasn’t Walking with the rest of the pack like he always did.
This time around he was going about with just two of the boys. But why was today different.

It was unusual, especially for Karl who enjoys being surrounded by the boys, Sofia always
thought it was a way of showing off his power.

Up and until now, Sofia still did not get what that signature move meant, she felt lost as he
kept giving her a stare.

I quickly stopped looking at him to disconnect the gaze from him.

I had something up my sleeves I wanted to present when the opportunity came, I just hoped
everything worked out well.

I gave her a wink with my eyebrows raising. She was surprised and quickly hid her face, she
was shy. Only a few of us could do what I did, and I was very good at it… I mean bringing
women close to us with a single look and with a touch of magic.

“Grrhhiiin,” I heard the bell ringing so loud, “arhhhh my ears,” I muttered. I was just passing
close to where the bell was hung before it then rang. It is one of the things that annoyed me.

Right from when I was little, I always detested it. My mama when I was a little boy always
called me by ringing a bell, she knew I didn’t like it. I always knew her too well that if I wasn’t
out, she wouldn’t stop too. It made me obey her lol”
I got into my class and sat down steadily. The reactions and dizziness from the loud sound
had not been over yet, I was still trying to get over it.

I didn’t hear a word whoever had been teaching was saying.

“Excuse me!” I said as I got up and left the class. I didn’t care what he had to say, well if he
wanted to see his head chopped off… Then he knew what to do.

“Ex… Excuse me!” He said. I had been waiting for this for a long time.

“Yes,” I responded as I stopped at the door turning to face the man that called himself the
teacher.

“Where do you think you are going to?” He asked.

There was a sudden uprising roar and chattering in the class, I think he had never heard of
the things I could do. Well, he was about to.

I didn’t give him a response… I only gave him the stare of his life. I let out my sharp wolf
teeth and immediately, he took a step back in fear.

He trembled but tried to get his poise back.

“Yo… You can leave now!” He said abruptly. I gave out a smile and turned walking out.

I went out and tried to get rid of the weird feeling I had gotten inside and other from the other
time when the bell rang.

It was another day to get prey for myself, I had been waiting patiently for any human who
would want to trespass or do anything kinda funny. But I think I had found one already.

I looked at my watch to find out what time it was. I needed some meal and I already knew
what or who my snack will be, I thought smirking.

“Sofia…” I thought suddenly came to my mind. I peeped into her class the first time trying to
locate she she had been sitting quickly.

I ran my eyes through the whole classroom in a split second, I had seen her.

I had not laid my eyes on her since the first time this morning, and I had to check. I wasn’t
her security but I needed to act as if I care to get what I wanted.

She turned her face after noticing I had been looking into her class straight to where she was
sitting, I gave her a facial expression telling her to come on outside.

And just as I called her, the bell rang again. Gosh, I think felt like someone just hit me with a
rock or something. I felt a sharp pain
A sudden feeling of anger came busting out of me. I had wanted to break the bell but I
quickly controlled myself and students came rushing out of their classes.

Just then, Sofia came out of her class and I was standing right in front of her. I tried to calm
myself down even though I was still feeling the pains.

“Hey, you busy?” I asked her looking into her eyes like I was interested in her.

“Ermmm….. I don’t know maybe,” she said as she shrugged her shoulders.

“Okay then we meet in the garden,” I told her as I smiled at her.

She smiles back almost immediately, was she into me already?” I thought as I scoffed.

“….Just 2 of us!” I added. And she turned and nodded in response.

“Girls…lol” I smirked as I left immediately.

I had something to finish. I was bloodthirsty and needed to feed. I went to the parking lot and
just then, I saw just the right human being to finish off, it was the teacher from my class who
tried challenging me.

Followed him to where his car was and before I did anything, I scanned through if there were
any cameras around. There was none and then, it was time for business.

I went and stood in front of his way…

“What is it, young man?” She asked with his face all wrangled up a bit.

“There is no need for that,” I said to him with a smile. I’m sure he didn’t know what was going
to happen to him next but I think he deserved it.

I jumped on him immediately tearing him by the neck. He tried to scream but I immediately
slit his throat open as blood immediately gushed through.

I smiled licking my fingers and I kept on feasting on his blood.

I was done almost immediately as I carried his carcass and dumped it in a nearby dug pit.

“Yummy!” I said smiling brightly. I took out my phone and cleaned the stain of blood that had
covered my face. Well for what it’s worth, I wasn’t going to be seeing his ugly face anymore
and was gonna cause a stir of trouble in the school.

I had gone to change so I could see Sofia. It was about the moon Goddess. I had to create a
lie or a story that she would believe, she had to believe this and I hoped this plan worked. I
had waited for months for this And I wasn’t ready to let this one slip away that easily.
## SOFIA’S POV

“Karl had been acting so strange and awkward today, unlike him, he rarely calls me out of
my class to ask what or how I’m doing,” I thought to myself. He seemed to be liking me.

I had made a decision, but I didn’t know if it was the right one or not. I wasn’t even sure of
myself.

“Oh jeez, what’s wrong with me… Fuck!” I hit myself in anger as I walked past the school
back to my house where I could get good cloth.

I had no idea why he had wanted to see me, I thought he had hated me and wanted me
dead, well so I thought.

I just prayed I had not made the wrong decision. He had given me a weird smile earlier and I
was wondering what that meant.

“Or was It just a way to catch my feelings?” I wasn’t so sure which was true or not but surely,
the way I could find out was for me to go see him.

# THE UNEXPECTED

## CHAPTER 15

## SOFIA’S POV

I still couldn’t figure out why he wanted to talk to me. I noticed earlier that his tone wasn’t
harsh as it has always been. I thought something had changed, just maybe.

“Or was he…? No! No!!” I said trying to contemplate if what I was thinking was the truth. So
many things had crowded my mind so I didn’t want to spit out anything that I knew wasn’t the
truth.

“Is it luck that he likes me?” I questioned myself repeatedly. This was something I needed to
convince myself of each time it came lurking.

I had gone back to my house to make a pick of dresses I would wear. I didn’t know which
one I would choose.

There were multiple clothes and each time I picked one, my mind always played a trick on
me by deceiving me into thinking that none of them is perfect. It was just so frustrating.

I think I was the only one that had to care about which cloth I could fit into, what dress was
my best, what color of wig I could put on, well I didn’t have one. I think everyone had this all
figured out, including who they are…
I was just beginning to get a clear understanding of who I was going to become, and even
after my eighteenth birthday, I still wasn’t with my mate, Or just maybe my mate didn’t like
me.” I thought.

“Sheesh!” I sighed as the thought of meeting with Karl came back to my mind.

I had probably picked a cloth, it was my best though but I didn’t know if it was wack or not. I
just had to make a pick and move.

The dress was a bit tight as I wore it to impress, “well if only I could get it past my big ass
and waist,” I said still trying to fiddle the dress up through my body.

I was done eventually, and I got out of the house and my whole body felt as if I was gonna
break down. I tried controlling my steps hoping I didn’t fall to the ground.

I didn’t feel confident about everything, about the whole plan of seeing Karl and having to
talk to him, I still had it on my mind that I didn’t stand a chance. It surely looked like he was
going to accept, but I still had a lot of doubts, I was afraid of being me.

Karl on his path was not even close to being ready. He had to clean up the mess he had
caused earlier to avoid suspicion from the students or any kind of scene that would be
created.

He knew beacon hills too well, it was a school where not only students were present, but
also all kinds of creatures in their human form. But particularly, he was careful not to arouse
the suspicions of the wolf hunters.

They were vicious and we were ready to kill any wolf. They were the most feared, well apart
from the fact that the alpha had a way to negotiate with them so they could ward off the
werewolf territory.

Karl was done with the cleanup, and he did it brilliantly to lessen any further suspicions and
he moved out without being spotted by anyone, especially students and guards.

Karl hurried back to his house still having in mind his plan and also that he had told Sofia to
come to the garden, but he wasn’t too sure if it was going to work out that way for him.

He had to change plans and make this happen. He knew very well that the garden was
going to be filled with a lot of people in no time, and so he thought of another place where
they could meet.

“Sheesh! How will I send to her the new location?” Karl reasoned and a thought popped up
in his mind, he was going to send someone, maybe one of the boys or someone who could
just do his bidding and then give her a letter.
Now that was settled, but not everything. Karl knew that things were beginning to unfold,
especially the fact that he had been close to Sofia.

Surely a lot of people had noticed this and were beginning to wonder if they were a thing
now. Even the girls who usually followed Karl around were becoming nervous now more
than ever.

It was a tense feeling that kept on increasing, day by day and they were now rumors around
almost all corners of the school about them. Well, Karl wasn’t the guy they would want to
mess with, he certainly did give a damn about it. He knew just the right solution to almost
everything.

Now Karl was ready, he called one of his friends… He took out a letter from his pocket as
the guy approached him.

“Give this to Sofia for me,” he commanded him. Karl had told him where he would see Sofia
and how. The guy didn’t hesitate one bit as he immediately rushed down to do exactly as he
was told.

Karl had just prayed that Sofia didn’t change her mind, the time was drawing nearer than
ever.

## SOFIA’S POV

I had left the house immediately and was walking on the raid that led to the garden. My
instincts told me to turn back, but I delayed. I thought it was one of those tricks my mind
played me back then.

But something happened, there was someone following me. “Who’s that?” I asked myself as
I didn’t want to turn my face but was looking at him wIth the side of my eye. It was one of the
few skills I learned when I was little.

I knew he didn’t notice, but by this time, anyone would know if someone had been following
him or not. He wore a hoodie to cover up his face from being noticed. This alone made ms
suspect him.

“Hmm,” I sighed, I was anxious, already turning scared of who he was and what his plan had
been. The first thought that landed on my mind was that maybe he was a kidnapper or a wolf
hunter.

I increased my pace and at the same time, he did too. This aroused my curiosity, and more
fear crept into me, not knowing if to run or to stand back and watch to see who he truly is.

I was left with no option but to act as if I had hit my leg on a Stone and I fell immediately
turning quickly to face him.
I wanted to see his face which I did, but I could not recognize him. His face looked familiar
yet strange to me. I was not good at keeping names or faces.

Immediately I fell I saw him rush up to me without thinking twice.

“Ahhh stay away,” I said as I almost shouted. The fear which had caught up with me was
enough for an old woman to have a heart attack.

When he brought his hands out I thought he wanted to harm me and my sharp teeth
immediately drew out like a sharp sword, he took a step back and didn’t move for a while.

It was the first time I had seen myself in such a situation and I didn’t know when it happened,
maybe because I was afraid of something but the adrenaline caused my teeth to show up.

“I have a message for you!” He said, for the first time he said a word. “Wasn’t that weird?” I
asked myself trying not to take my gaze off him.

“Who sent you?” I asked him with my voice still shaking like I had been all out in the cold
alone.

He stretched his hands with the letter to me without saying a word, I looked at him sternly as
if I had been looking for a way to trust him. Searchingly, I looked into his eyes and they didn't
flinch. He looked serious and immediately I took the letter.

He stretched out his hands again, and I didn’t understand what it was for again. I had been
on the ground, maybe he wanted me to stand up but I declined and I struggled to stand up
on my feet alone.

I stood up looking at him, I had to be sure what the letter was before I even opened it.

“What’s this?” I said to him, pushing the letter a bit further to him.

He looked at the letter and shifted his eyes at me immediately, signaling to me to open the
letter. I think I just had to if I wanted to see what it was.

I opened the letter and glanced at him to see his reaction. I was smart no matter what. It was
a letter from Karl.

I sighed, “so all this stress and effort I had made to avoid his messenger was all for nothing,”
I mumbled to myself.

Karl always had his way of doing a lot of things, and he surely knew a lot of people, well I
didn’t know who this guy was but it didn’t matter, he didn’t come to harm me.

“Okay,” I replied to him after I read the letter and folded it back.

He walked away immediately, and I knew just where I had to be. I moved just then walking in
the direction of the location written on the paper.
It didn't take long before I got there, it was a bar actually, I was surprised. I had not been
there before, so it was my first, of course, no guy had offered to take me out so I was
pleased but eager to see Karl, who by that time had not arrived.

I lingered around a bit before I decided to ask one of the waiters if I could take a seat and
help myself.

“Yes, you can!” She replied with a weird smile. It looked like she had been pretending or
something, but I couldn’t just explain what.

She acted unusually as if she had been waiting for me to arrive for a long time, but since I
didn’t know her, I just had to forget about it. I took a seat and sat down.

I saw some eyes staring at me and I didn’t seem to understand why. No one walked up to
me to say something and I didn’t even understand what had been going on.

“Did I do something wrong? Or I’m I smelling?” I mumbled to myself uncomfortably. Those

gazes made me feel sick and just as I was about to stand up and leave, Karl appeared.

“I was relieved a bit, but why did he take so long?” I wondered staring at him with anger but
smiling at him. He walked up to me and touched my shoulders and I looked at him. I didn’t
understand why he did that.

Surely I had been expecting something different, a hug course. I didn’t know why he acted
that way but I knew he was better than this when talking to girls, at least I had seen him with
one the other day.

He gave out a smile, and all my mind was telling me made me feel more uncomfortable than
before. But anyways I felt a bit safe although I had no idea how I gave Karl a bit of trust.

He ordered some drinks, alcohol at that, I knew he liked alcohol but I didn’t.

“No I don’t want that,” I said to him. I was thinking he was gonna suggest something else for
me but he insisted that I take the alcohol. He called it a celebration but I had no idea what
we were celebrating.

I looked up to the person who had been serving the drinks, it was the same woman who had
offered me a seat with a weird smile before.

I felt my heart sink as if it had been giving me a warning sign on the onset. Immediately she
was done she went away and didn’t look back.

With the whole drama, I wasn’t even sure if what I was thinking was right or not, one time
she looked like she had evil plans, and then the next she looks kind with a good heart.
I shrugged my shoulders carefully so Karl won’t notice. I took a sip of the alcohol, it tasted a
little sweeter than the normal alcohol.

I was like wow, I smiled. I decided to go for another sip and drank almost everything that was
in the glass. Karl stopped me and helped me put the bottle down.

I felt different, I think I was high and dizzy. I turned and gave Karl a look, I think I was drunk,
but that wasn’t possible. “Shit!” I knew it.

I was never that kind of person that gets drunk fast and besides, I am a wolf. Unless
something had gone wrong somewhere unless Karl had done something to me.

## CHAPTER 16

# CHECK MATE

Sofia had not been feeling comfortable one bit, she could feel certain things in her beginning
to change, which to her was weird.

“What cocktail is this?” She asked in a lousy tone, looking sternly at the woman. It was
unclear which had been the problem.

She felt so uncomfortable at that moment and even wanted to stand. But then, she noticed
she couldn’t move some parts of her body.

She felt like she was drowning. She felt numb, she knew that this was not normal, and this
too didn’t mistakenly happen.

Sofia looked at the drink and trying so hard to turn her face to look at Karl, she gave him a
stare as if she had known what he did to her. She didn’t understand how a simple drink
could make her feel this way or was it her body reacting to something?

Sofia couldn’t understand what was going on, “I’m I dreaming or something?” She tried to
move herself to see if she had been in her body.

But to Karl, his game plan had worked. It all went well for him, he gave out a smile when he
saw that the drink had made Sofia sleep.

This was his plan all along and he considered it his masterpiece. He is happy he didn’t do
this in the garden as it would have raised my suspicions and it would have spoilt his long-
term plan.

### KARL’S POV

I had her, finally, she was in my hands now. I kept a serious face so she wouldn’t suspect a
thing while she was still conscious.

She had been feeling dizzy, I could see her struggling to shake her head to get rid of the
feeling she had but I know the alcohol had been too strong for her. I think it wasn’t the
alcohol that made her dizzy but the drug that was put in it.

I gave the waiter a wink, she had just done me a favor and she certainly had held up to her
side of the bargain. I knew just how to reward her.

I had been waiting patiently for her to fall asleep, it was going to be a quick one so I waited
for her to doze off.

I knew too well that there was nowhere she was going to fall asleep by just taking alcohol, so
I had made the woman who served us put something in her drink not to kill her but just so
she could sleep.

I knew whatever the woman had been put into her drink was not going to subside anytime
soon. I had it in mind that it would last long until I had finished everything I had planned.

Everything worked perfectly as planned. I just had to take her away from there, away from
the eyes of the public. I called some of the boys who had been sitting there for a long time,
to come and carry her away. They were with me, I hoped Sofia didn’t notice this.

I had earlier agreed with the bartender, there who was the lady that served us, I had to pay
her which I did immediately after Sofia was gone. She was the woman who acted as the
waiter who helped lure Sofia.

There were suspicious looks everywhere but I didn’t mind one bit. Not one of them could
interfere with my plans.

I had planned with my friends and some people who knew me to take her away to
someplace while she was still unconscious. They had wanted to ask me why I had been
doing this, but I made them understand that they were in no position to ask me such
questions. She had to be there and it was my decision.

They nodded heads in agreement but who would believe this, I didn’t trust them so I ordered
some of the boys to watch them closely. I had this feeling there were going to disclose to the
alpha what had been happening and possibly betray me, something I was not going to stand
and watch.

I had to lock her up somewhere I was not ready to be her mate right from start and this was
now my chance to get rid of her for good. I looked at her with pity while she was being taken
away but I knew that what was done had been done, and surely there was no going back
now.

I had to focus on what was at hand now and make sure that no one exposed my plans, it
had to be as secretive as possible and far from the ears of the alpha.
“He must not hear this!” I mumbled to myself as I turned walking away.

Sofia had still been unconscious, and only I and the boys knew what had happened,
including the waiter at the bar who I hoped would not open her damn mouth.

I had this fear, I didn’t want to kill her. I didn’t know what would befall me or what kind of
consequence would come of this decision. So I canceled my mind about that. Especially for
the fact that she’s my mate, I could attempt such.

We had to put her somewhere no one would know or suspect, and most of all, someplace
safe no one would ever think of and find her.

My thoughts had run through all the possible locations I could think of and the only one that
kept on coming to my mind was the tunnel.

She must have gone through this tunnel, but I knew she didn’t know the tunnel as much as I
did. It was one of the scariest places anyone would ever wish to be.

We had placed her in a wooden box which more or less looked like a casket, “who would
suspect this?” I giggled.

Everyone seemed to be minding their business as we walked swiftly past the school to the
tunnel. At the beginning of the tunnel, well a house actual, we had to struggle to get her
down. This gave us a lot of tough time, but we handled it neatly.

We got in finally and we could just barely see what was around us, this was the period when
we had to be very careful with whatever we were doing.

This was either going to be a death zone for us or we could just be successful and leave
quickly. We walked as fast as our legs Could carry us, it was a bit darker now but we
managed to stretch our eyes to see further.

We reached a point where everywhere had just been pitch black, it felt like a dead-end to us
but we couldn’t stop now, I knew we were closer.

The guys kept walking and I had been moving best on my senses, it had been heightened at
this point that I could see in the dark and move without light. It’s one of the special abilities of
the wolf.

As we were walking, it felt to me as if we were being followed, but what would have been
following us in this godforsaken place.

I signaled the guys to move quickly and before I knew it, they were ahead of me. I didn’t
know if they had felt it too but I think they were afraid they would be chopped.
I had to calm them down as our footsteps had been getting louder, I couldn’t concentrate
and get the right location of where our point of destination was. I tried hard to concentrate
more even amid the sounds I had been hearing.

“Wait!” I whispered to them. They turned to look at me, they were anxiously wanting to leave
already. Without them telling me this, I could tell just from the look on their face.

I felt like we had arrived at our destinations and needed to put her in her place fast before
the other creatures had woken.

They turned back heading a bit further, then they stopped and put down the wooden box
which she had been in. It was a small kind of prison for werewolves.

They brought her out of the box and put her on the ground. She had a lot of weight and was
one of the reasons we had been moving slowly. We could barely walk fast as those carrying
her had been complaining all day long of pains and fatigue.

I let them catch a breath first before we continued work. They were breathing heavily as if
they had been running a race.

After some minutes, we stood up. We had to face the work at hand and find a way to leave
before we were lost.

Derek, one of the boys quickly brought out the shackles and chain to restrain her to the wall.
It looked like she was about to wake up as her breathing rekindled as if she had been
gasping for air.

We were fast, took her hands and chained them to the wall, we moved back a little looking at
the arrangements, I think everything was done.

But there was one thing but that wasn’t a problem. The creatures in the tunnel only reacted
when they heard a sound, and if Sofia screamed, they would come for her without mercy.

The only way possible which was to save her was the fact that we looked her up In the
deepest part of the tunnel, and no one would be able to reach for her there.

We had made a lot of effort to be there and so then, we needed to go back up safely. This
was always the danger I feared the most.

We were about to leave, when I heard a voice call me, I was… Surprised. It was Sofia’s. I
turned to look at her.

I could see clearly that she had not to get gotten out of the effect of the drug, or she was
already becoming conscious.

I knew she had been weak, and since I had made a plan not to kill her, I knew the solution to
this, but I still wanted her to suffer a bit.
I turned as her call became louder with every step I took. It echoed in my ears and it felt like I
had been punctured in my heart by a sword. “My mate…” I shook my head in discomfort. Her
cries kept ringing in my eyes as I was walking, they never stop, and she never stopped.

“Things wouldn’t have come this way but I did what I had to do to get rid of her,” I comforted
myself.

I knew I was much stronger than this, but my feeling of pity got the best of me there. I
continued walking, but following the boys who were walking in front of me.

We moved hurriedly so we could reach the entrance of the tunnel much faster. This time
around we walked speedily as there was nothing to drag or delay us on our way.

As I kept walking, I could hear the sounds and roars of these creatures whom I knew nothing
about, nor have I heard of them. I knew they might have been far away but they Sure were
loud.

I could sight the ladder from a distance, by this time the light at this end of the tunnel made it
possible for us to see a bit even though we still had to strain our eyes.

We reached for the ladder, each of us climbing our way up, out of the tunnel. Immediately it
was my turn, I climbed through and when I was out, I could feel a lot of heat evaporating
from my body. It was such a relief I was able to pull that off.

But still, I didn’t seem all happy, I didn’t know why I was beginning to have a weird feeling
about the whole plan.

“Phew!” I sighed and gained my balance Walking through the grass of the field close to the
school.

# SOFIA’S CRY

## CHAPTER 17

Immediately Karl came up from the tunnel, he signaled the boys and some members of the
pack who were with him to move on and that he was going to come on later.

He looked around Searchingly as if he knew someone had been watching. He did that to be
sure that no one had been hiding somewhere, better still watching their movement. He
needed everything, excluding the last part to be perfect.

Karl left the arena, he didn’t want to be asked too many questions so he had decided not to
linger around the school. He knew that so many eyes had seen him walk into the building
which not many people knew was a tunnel. The entrance of the tunnel was a building that
led to it.

But Karl knew that nothing could be done anymore, he had achieved what he truly wanted.
He knew that what was done, was done for good and nothing was going to change that.
To Karl, there was nothing to worry about anymore, he had zero worries because after all,
Sofia was nowhere to be found, and was surely not going to be seen anytime soon. That
was if she was going to survive in there.

No one had cared for Sofia, which meant that no one was even going to check up on her.
Sofia was very reserved and didn’t have any friends. Well, it was always said by a few of the
girls, that she was out of their clique.

Sofia often heard this but she knew she couldn’t change people’s opinions about her. She
just had to go on with her business, and that was what she always did… It was also the thing
that got the other girls angry and jealous.

## KARL’S POV

During this time, I had been keeping my head up straight, and I was trying to avoid
distractions at all costs. I had my ears around too in case of any misconception and rumors
anyone wanted to spread. I was ready for anything, provided the truth stayed underneath. Of
course, I had warned the boys and some members of the pack who knew about this to keep
their mouths closed.

Well, I knew this was already over before it even started because I knew no one was ever
going to find her, or even ask about her whereabouts.

If I ever mentioned her name in a crowd that had been gathering, they would close their ears
immediately and would likely scatter, no one was ready to help or know anything about her. I
knew they hated her for no reason, maybe for the fact that she was fat, and was not as
beautiful as they were.

I was walking when a thought just struck my mind, I had been reminiscing about Sofia calling
me. I think I was having some sort of feeling of pity. I didn’t want to have this kind of feeling
because I was not ready to change my mind.

“Wuff!” I said as I shook my head, and looked to the ground. “This is not happening right
now, is it?” I looked up again and began to walk moving past the school. I was in the worst
position possible because I had been wearing a dirty t-shirt from the dirt underground there, I
needed a shower and a change of clothes. No one needed to see me in those, this also
would have caused a lot of people to start asking why I was that way.

I had to quickly move back to my home where I stayed and take a quick bath. I had
somewhere to be and I needed to be there on time.

I had not quickly forgotten about Sofia, “phew! I think I should send food to her when she’s
awake,” I said. But I didn’t know if that was the right thing to do.

I knew that some people who knew about this would not like the idea of giving her food as
they had planned to make her rot in there.
“Nah!” I said in disagreement, I had to do Something, without involving some of the boys in
the pack. I had come to a crucial stage where I didn’t trust them all. J knew of one that had
the intention of spilling the beans but I quickly warned him of the consequence of messing
with me.

I was done taking my bath and doing stuff, I think I had done all that needed to be done. I
knew the alpha must have been searching for me, or even asking about me so I needed to
go there and pretend as if everything had been okay before anyone spit out what they were
not supposed to.

There was always a tendency that my father could get any information out from anyone he
suspected. It was why I was always careful how I dealt with certain things.

I moved immediately after I left home heading to where I supposed the leader of the pack,
my father would be. I knew it wasn’t very far from my house but I still moved as fast as I
could.

I finally arrived at where he was, it was exactly where I had expected him to be. He had been
sitting there quietly the whole time, I didn’t know if he had been waiting for me or maybe he
had expected my arrival, but his looks meant trouble.

“Where have you been?” He asked loudly as if with anger. I looked at him trying to decipher
which was which, whether he was angry or it was just his tone. I didn’t think he was angry
but I still had to answer his questions fast.

“I went to school father,” I said to him, keeping a straight face and trying not to let him know
that I was lying. This was one of the things I tried to learn strenuously. I just hoped this
excuse worked.

He gave me a deadly stare, I guess I knew what that meant. That meant that if I was lying,
there was a heavy punishment awaiting me. It was always it for him, no one had to lie and
no one had to disobey the rules.

I couldn’t keep the last one, and one of the rules had been to “never kill a human in broad
daylight.” This is one thing I was guilty of and knew that he had no idea about this, I just
hoped it would stay secret and that he would never know.

He looked at me this time, I think he was trying to guess if I had been telling him the truth,

“So why did you take so long to come back?” He asked, and this time, I had no idea what to
reply.

“Class…” I said to him and after a while, he nodded his head in agreement.

It was such relief that he noticed nothing, not even my breathing, my heart had been taking a
race the whole time I had been standing there.
Sofia on the other hand had woken up. She felt sick as if she had been dead or something.
The whole place was dark and she couldn’t see a thing, not when she had no strength to
attempt anything.

She had no idea how long she had been sleeping for. It all felt weird to her. She couldn’t
remember what she did last or where she had been the last night. She didn’t feel
comfortable one bit. She had been breathing heavily by this time and she knew that there
was probably no one wherever she had been.

She could hear her voice echo whenever she coughed or called any name that came to her
mind. She had been thinking about why this happened, where she had been was the one
question she needed an answer to.

## SOFIA’S POV

It was dark in here and hot. I didn’t even remember what I had done last or who I had been
with. It was all strange and awkward. I tried to move my hands which felt numb and I
immediately knew I had been chained somewhere, to a wall probably. To me, it was a
question of “how did this happen?”

I didn’t understand this and who would do this to me, I didn’t get it clear why I had been
chained. “Or was it a dream?” I quickly asked myself. It surely was not a dream but things
were not clear.

For one, I didn’t know how I managed to reach here and who had carried me here.
Everything just seemed blurry to me.

I let out a tear, I felt frustrated immediately and couldn’t hold it back anymore. I couldn’t
move and I tried shaking my limbs, they had been tied to something. I think I had been
chained to the wall.

“There was nowhere I was getting out of here alive,” I said as if I was already trying to decide
what my Fate would be. I just hoped someone would come and save me from this bondage
that I was in.

I knew I could simply rip off the chains from the wall, but something had made me weak, I
didn’t know what that was but I knew I had taken in something, or better still, Someone had
probably injected me with something, maybe a drug that sedated me.

I could only groan out in pain, Hoping someone just somewhere would hear me and come to
save me. Everywhere was silent, there was no sound except my voice which had been
echoing everywhere.
I calmed myself down trying to figure out what went wrong and trying to get a clear memory
of what happened yesterday.

It only came to my mind that I took alcohol, my mouth had been smelling this way since I
woke up, and helped me know what I took last before I passed out. I knew I had not been
the alcohol type, still wondering what made me go ahead, someone must have been there
encouraging me to, probably that’s why I did it.

“Yes!” I said immediately I remembered a detail, I could recall someone, the leader of the
group who got me here and locked me Up to suffer in this darkness.

I remember I called his name, and he stopped. “His na… The name I called was Karl.”
Immediately after I said this, my eyes got wide open.

I suddenly remembered almost all the things that happened. I could remember the time at
the bar. “So she….” I couldn’t believe this. Was it that Karl had partnered with her to drug
me?

It was unbelievable. He did have the mind to do that to me. “He tricked me into falling for
him,” I cried uncontrollably.

“But why did he not just send me away, but he had to lock me up like a dog with no food no
water,” I was even tired of crying as my cheeks and eyes had been hurting.

I was so happy thinking he meant well to me, not knowing this is what he had planned all
along, and this was the reason he changed the venue. Only if I knew this would happen, I
would have taken caution and traded with care.

I knew there was no need to struggle as I had already seen my end with my eyes, I just had
to be quiet and see what would happen next, just maybe I was going to die… This was the
only thought that came banging into my mind.

If only I had the strength, I knew I wouldn’t be here by this time… I didn’t know how I could
get my confidence back, I just knew the whole pack did love me as if I was not one of them.
But I was born into that pack, but they never took me as their own... I always felt as if I was
an orphan to them.

It was becoming hot in here, and this was the one thing I didn’t like, I started sweating
profusely like I had been running for a long time.

I could feel my energy now draining down as if it was being flushed away. I was weak
already becoming numb, I needed food but there was none. I had to keep calm and try to
suppress the feeling whenever it came.

I tried breathing in and out so I wouldn’t sleep off, and I needed to breathe. Suddenly, a
name came to my mouth, one I had almost forgotten, surely I had not called this name for
years.
# SOFIA’S REDEMPTION

## CHAPTER 18

### SOFIA’S POV

It just came to my mind that I had not seen my mum for months, years probably and I
suddenly developed this feeling of need for her. It was not usual and it kept giving me
goosebumps each time I had a flashback memory about her. She was the best thing that
ever happened to me, and I had no idea why this feeling and memory were coming to my
mind now.

After all, I was going to die even before I had the chance to even go see her. Well, I knew
one thing was certain, I didn’t know if I was going to live and get out of this place alive or I
would rot in here. I only had myself to think of now, that no one would come for me.

I had no idea Karl was this wicked, I never knew he would turn out to be this cruel and
unjust. All I had to do now was hold myself today and wait for my last breath.

I just could get myself past the feeling of seeing my mother. I hoped I could see her for one
last dance. I would tell her of all the amazing achievements I’ve been able to reach, I’m sure
she would be proud,” I let out a smile.

I quickly noticed something, this smile was the only one I had since I woke up to see myself
here. Lilian was always the one who gave me the most happiness and Joy. But I didn’t know
who it soon turned into hatred and despair.

We suddenly didn’t talk again as we did, we visit each other for a long time and before we
knew it, the connection was off. I was worried, I knew my instincts had been trying to tell me
about it but I didn’t quite get it. It meant something though but I couldn’t understand what.

It had been feeling really cold in here and I didn’t know how to fight it, there was nothing that
could heat me. I didn’t have extra clothes or blankets that would do the job for me. It was just
me against everything other thing and person.

Now I had known who Karl was now, I only hoped to get out of here alive. I had a little hope
each time I called the name Lilian. It felt like she was already there waiting for me to be
back.

Yet for what was worth it, I didn’t know where I was, I had no idea how I was taken in and
why this whole place was so quiet. I went on to imagine if I had been in anotherr kingdom or
something, “probably I must have been sold off,” I said aloud this time.
I had started regretting going with Karl to the bar, and especially why I had not trusted my
instincts when I saw the woman who pretended to be a waitress. The feeling of betrayal was
unbearable.

### KARL’S POV

I had been home this time trying to get some air, it was a tough one to deal with as my
conscience had been toiling with me, also blaming me too for Everything that must have
happened to her in there.

The whole time I was home, I had been thinking of going to feed Sofia, I had to feed her, well
someone had to. I couldn’t let her die like that, something had to be done quickly. I planned
to go get some food for her from an eatery somewhere close to the school where I would
just go in and deliver it to her.

I approached the bar and asked them for some chips and some other snacks I knew she
loved. I was about the move when I saw her.

She had been standing right there, it wasn’t Sofia, she was older, and I noticed this
immediately she turned her face looking at me suspiciously. I took my face off her gaze
immediately. It was awkward but I had to look at her closely, she seemed to have known me
but I didn’t.

She had her gaze still on me like she needed explanations for something. I wasn’t
comfortable anymore so I stood up to go and have a conversation but she quickly moved
from where she was, she was coming straight to me. I was a bit surprised and I didn’t know if
she knew me or not.

“Hello,” she said after walking to where I was. It looked like she had been looking for
someone, her eyes were everywhere.

“Yes, is there any problem?” I responded with a convincing tone like I was ready to help her
with whatever need.

She was trying to bring something out from her bag, I stretched my neck a little bit to see
what it was. It was her phone. I had only wondered what she wanted to use it for.

“Do you know this person?” She showed me a picture from her phone. I didn’t recognize who
that was because the person looked so young.

“Her name is Sofia… Sofia Dalton,” she completed. I was shocked. I didn’t know who she
was and needed to be sure of who I had been talking to, I think my instincts were right about
who she was but I still needed to confirm it.
“My name is Lilian,” she responded with ease, a bit speedily too. She looked to be in a haste
too. It was truly Sofia’s mother. They looked alike but Sofia never talked about her. I knew
something was going to go wrong if I didn’t act quickly.

“I do not know who she is,” I replied shaking my head like I knew nothing. She nodded and
was about to move.

“Where are you heading to now, what if I see her,” I asked her trying to know where she was
about to go next.

She turned and said that she was going to visit the school. I didn’t have to ask her why she
wanted to go there, she was going to suspect if I did that, so I ever bothered.

I had earlier told Derek, one of my trusted friends who had been there that day to go give her
some food, I finally made up my mind to give her some food so she wouldn’t pass out.

And with this woman here, I needed to make sure there was nothing linked to me.

Derek had come back to report to me what happened and he said he had given her the food,
“she would have been dead by now man,” he completed.

“Just what I thought,” I praised myself for doing this at that right time.

It was the fourth day, and as days continued to pass, Sofia’s hope of being alive kept
diminishing. She was about to give up knowing full well that she had no hope, no one was
going to help her now.

She had a tough time sleeping at night, the chains made her uncomfortable and whenever
sleep came, it took her unconsciously till she woke up.

She had been feeling all the pains in her angle and her shoulders as they were held up high.
To her, it was only a matter of time before she eventually died.

She had no idea that her mom had come looking for her, this would have been the best
news she ever heard if Karl had offered to tell her.

Karl had made up his mind, he knew he surely had to do it… He was already having feelings
of regret all around which no one except him knew about.

It had been 4 days since he locked Sofia up, It was the day of freedom for Sofia, it was the
day she would be freed to leave. Karl never had the intention in the first place to kill her, he
had only planned for her to suffer a bit and he knew he had achieved that.

Nevertheless, he never still wanted to set his eyes on Sofia again. He knew the feeling he
would get if he did, and if she was back into the pack.
He had feared that she would let the cat out of the bag and tell the alpha what his son had
done to her. Maybe this time he would believe her with all the marks that were all over her
hands and legs.

Karl had gone into the tunnel, he knew he needed to make this quick and make sure too that
she was never seen around. Of course, her face had been missing for days so people were
going to surely ask questions… And to these, there was good to be an answer.

Karl reached the spot where he had put Sofia, he stood there staring at her as she was on
the ground with little or no energy.

She heard different voices and the thought that came ringing to her was that she was going
to die, they probably came to finish her off. But it wasn’t as she thought.

She was told to run away as fast as she could and never return. Her face was not to be seen
around the school nor the silver moon pack.

Sofia on hearing this felt life, and with the sounds of what they were saying she couldn’t help
but cry, she couldn’t help the rejection.

They showed her a way out and at the sound of “RUN!” she knew she had found her
freedom, she took for the race of her life.
