1.2. Review of Present Perfect (20 minutes)
Instructions:
◦ Me and the student will each share three sentences about our experiences.
◦ Two of the sentences must be true, and one must be a lie.
◦ All sentences should use the present perfect tense.
3. The student guesses which sentence is the lie. Then, they create their own three sentences
for you to guess.
Objective: Encourage the student to use the present perfect to talk about experiences in an
interactive and personal way.
Main Use:
Talk about experiences, actions that started in the past and continue, or recent actions relevant to the
present.

Write a short story (6-8 sentences) about your past experiences using both tenses. Example:
"Last summer, I went to Italy. I visited Rome and Florence. I have never seen such beautiful cities
before! I also tried Italian food, and it was amazing. Have you ever tried Italian pasta? I think it’s
the best!"
After writing, read your story aloud and we’ll review it together.
