Servers
You can access CSE Linux servers via
“terminal”
Find and Navigate “Terminal”
For
MacOS/Linux
Machines
You need to download Graphical User Interface
(GUI) SSH clients that you can use on your OS
e.g., PuTTY: https://www.putty.org/ , or
WinSCP: https://winscp.net/eng/index.php
With PuTTY:
For Windows
Machines
• There are lots of GUI SSH clients you can use for your own OS
• e.g., MobaXterm, PuTTY
• Some includes file transfer functionalities

CSE has a list of Linux Servers
To access the CSE Linux Servers – You need CSE
VPN and use you access CSE Linux servers
direct - Method 1.
Accessing CSE
If your laptop DONOT have CSE VPN (you are
Linux Servers using CUHK Wi-Fi), then you need to connect
to CSE Gateway first and then login into CSE
Linux server – Method 2
Connect with CSE Linux server via your CSE
username and password
Write the following
“ssh [email protected]” and
password

Machines You might be prompted to ask for connection
establishment if you are connecting for the first
time with CSE servers
