TOPIC: SCHOOL THINGS
I. Aims of the lesson
After the lesson, students will be able:
 name some things in their classroom
 use structures:
A: What’s it?
B: It’s a board.
II. Teaching aids
Lesson plan, flashcards, board, chalk, magnets, speaker, stickers
III. Procedures
TEACHER & STUDENTS ACTIVITIES BOARD DISPLAY
I. WARM UP (5 minutes)
* Sing a song: How are you today? (Dream TOPIC: SCHOOL THINGS
English)

II. PRESENTATION (30 minutes)


1. New words 1. New words
- T shows the flashcards and asks Ss “What’s - rubber
this?”. Ss guess. - ruler
- T writes the new words and stamps the flashcards - book
besides the words on the board. - pen
- Then T guides Ss how to say the words: - board
+ Step 1: Whole class: T says aloud, whole class
listens and repeats in chorus several times.
+ Step 2: Groups of Ss: T invites groups of Ss to
read (table by table, line by line)
+ Step 3: Individual: T calls randomly some Ss to
read individually.
- T corrects Ss’ pronunciation well.
* Game: Take a picture
- T sticks all the flashcards on the board.
- T divides the class into 2 teams then T calls 2
students to come to the front.
- When T says the word, ss have to run quickly to
touch it and say it aloud. Who’s quicker, will get
one point/star for their team.
* Matching game
- T stamps the flashcards on the board on one side,
writes the word on other side. Then T explains what

they need to do by giving an example.
- Asks Ss to recognize what they are.
- Then Ss match the correct words.
- Check with class by calling Ss to say their answer.
T corrects Ss’ pronunciation and intonation well.
2. Structure
- Teacher writes a sample on the board. T reads, Ss 2. Structure
listen only. A: What’s it?
- T tells them how to use this structure by giving B: It’s a board.
more examples.
- T guides Ss how to read the whole sentence.
- T shows flashcards. Ss make the sentences. T
checks their pronunciation.
* Game: Basketball
- Invite 2 Ss to come in the front and make hoops
by their arms
- Invite 2 players stand in the middle of the class.
- They will throw a ball into the hoop. If they can,
they have a chance to answer a question and get one
point.

III. CONSOLIDATION (5 minutes)


- T summarizes the main points of the lesson.
