Solve the following questions:

1. Find the HCF of the integers 1485 and 4356 using Euclid’s division algorithm.
2. Find the least number that is divisible by all numbers between 1 and 10 (both inclusive).
3. Prove that any positive odd integer is of the form 6p+ 1 or 6p+ 5, where p is an integer.
4. A bakery seller has 210 vanilla pastries and 390 chocolate pastries. She wants to stack them
in such a way that each stack has the same number, and they can take up the least area of the
tray. What is the number of pastries that can be placed in each stack for this purpose?
5. Use Euclid’s division lemma to show that any positive even integer is of the form 8p, 8p+2 ,
8p+4 and 8p+ 6, where p is an integer.
6. Find the HCF of 480 and 404 by prime factorisation method. Hence, find their LCM.
7. Two tankers contain 2340 litres and 3825 litres of petrol respectively. Find the maximum
capacity of the container that can measure the petrol of either tanker in exact number of
times.
8. Express 32760 as the product of its prime factors.
9. Find the largest number that will divide 2053 and 967 and leaves a remainder of 5 and 7
respectively
10. Prove that there is no natural number n for which 8n ends with the digit 0.
11. In a seminar, the number of participants in Hindi, English and Mathematics are 60, 84 and
108 respectively. Find the minimum number of rooms required if in each room same
numbers of participants are to be seated and all of them being in the same subject.
12. Find the highest number less than 1000 that is divisible by each of the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
and 7.
13. Prove that√2 + √7 is irrational.
14. Prove that one of every three consecutive positive integers is divisible by 3
