The Clockmaker
The Clockmaker
In a small, quiet town, there lived a clockmaker named Elias. His clocks were the finest in the land, and
people traveled from afar to buy them. But Elias had a secret—his clocks were not powered by gears
alone but by fragments of time stolen from his own life.
One day, a mysterious customer arrived, offering Elias a strange, golden hourglass in exchange for
repairing a broken clock. The hourglass was enchanted, granting Elias the ability to pause time. Thrilled
by this newfound power, Elias used it to live many lifetimes in a single day, creating masterpieces and
exploring the world.
But the more he used the hourglass, the faster his own time ran out. One morning, he awoke to find his
reflection aged and frail. Desperate to reverse the curse, Elias shattered the hourglass, only to find
himself trapped in a single moment forever—a lonely figure frozen in time, surrounded by his clocks, as
the world moved on without him.
