Learning Competency: Point out the main Ideas in the Discovery of the Structure of the
Structure of the Atom and It’s Sub-Atomic Particles

I.Learning Objectives:

>To differentiate the different existing ideas in the development of the recent understanding of
the structure of the atom.

>To describe and differentiate the sub-atomic particles.

III.Learning Tasks

A.Engagement: How Big is the Atom Guessing Game_An Oxymoron Game!


Students will race to 8, as per correct response to game questions.
B.Exploration: 15-Minute Delivery!
Each group will be provided with a folder containing pictures and
comprehensive capsular information about each
stage/contributor of
the development of the recent concept of the atomic structure & the
subatomic particles. Report performance will be assessed using a rubric.
>Video clips, timeline visuals, & a short ppt presentation and web games
will be presented after the reports.
C.Explanation: Think-pair-share worksheets in the form 10-minute essay will be
provided and answered by the students.

D.Elaboration: Storytelling Relay!


The students will tell the story of the atomic history, structure, and sub-
particles according to the timeline & category, & beginning phrases of
each posted on the board as a guide. The teacher facilitator will give the
prompts and cues in the process.
E.Evaluation: Defining and to the point 15-item true or false assessment test will be
administered.

IV.Assignment:

Students will be asked to analyse and give a reflection on the recent


technologies in scientific world ie the very helpful imaging tools in cell
biology
imaging that greatly help the scientists in understanding the mystery of minute
building blocks of life (cyo-electron tomography, etc.); as well as the imminent
superpower quantum computer of the future.
