Section-A

1. The length of the sides of a triangle are 5cm, 7cm, and 8cm. The area of the triangle is

2. D, E, and F are the mid-points of sides AB, BC, and CA of △ABC. If the perimeter of △ABC is 16m,

14. In an isosceles triangle ABC, with AB = AC, the bisectors of ∠B and ∠C intersect each other at O.
Join A to O. Show that OB=OC
15. A conical tent is 10m high and the radius of its base is 24m. Find the slant height of the tent.
16. State the RHS congruence rule.
17. ABC is an isosceles triangle with AB = AC. Draw AP ⊥ BC to show that ∠B = ∠C.

18. State and prove that the mid-point theorem.
19. AD and BC are equal perpendiculars to a line segment AB. Show that CD bisects AB

AD is an altitude of an isosceles triangle ABC in which AB = AC. Show that
(i) AD bisects BC. (ii) AD bistects ∠A.
20. A joker's cap is in the form of a right circular cone of base radius 7 cm and height 24 cm. Find the
area of the sheet required to make 10 such caps.

21. A corn shaped somewhat like a cone has the radius of its broadest end as 2.1 cm and length
(height) as 20 cm. If each 1 cm² of the surface of the cob carries an average of four grains, Based on
the above information , answer the following questions :

(i) What is the slant height of the corn cob?


(a) 21.11 cm (b) 10.11 cm
(c) 20.11 m (d) 19.11 m
(ii) What is the curved surface of the corn cob?
(a) 132.73 cm² (approx) (b) 123.73 cm² (approx)

(iii) How many grains on the entire surface of the cob?

Section-E
22. Prove that two triangles are congruent if two angles and the included side of one triangle are
equal to two angles and the included side of other triangle.

23. The triangular side walls of a flyover have been used for advertisements. The sides of the walls
are 122m, 22m, and 120m. The advertisements yield an earning of ₹5000 per m² per year. A
company hired one of its walls for 3 months. How much rent did it pay?

24. In right triangle ABC, right angled at C, M is the mid-point of hypotenuse AB. C is joined to M and

(i) ∆AMC ≅ ∆BMD


produced to a point D such that DM = CM. Point D is joined to point B (see figure). Show that

(ii) ∠DBC is a right angle


(iii) ∆DBC ≅ ∆ACB

ABCD is a quadrilateral in which P, Q, R and S are mid-points of the sides AB, BC, CD and DA (see
figure). AC is a diagonal. Show that
(i) SR || AC and SR = 12 AC
(ii) PQ = SR
(iii) PQRS is a parallelogram.
