EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The objective of this experiment is to create various types of
charts (for example: line chart, pie chart, scatter plot) and
interpret the visualization.
3
3.1.1 Objective
To import data, perform basic data cleaning, create various types
of charts, and interpret the visualizations. The lab will use real-
world examples from chemical engineering and biotechnology to
demonstrate these concepts.
3.1.2 Methodology
Import data from a text file and create various types of charts that
includes, pie charts, scatter plots, line charts Properly lable the
charts to include y-axis, x-axis titles, legends, error bars etc.,
Format the graphs to make them visually appealing, colorful and
insightful. The major findings from each case study to be reported
along with the screenshots.
Case study:
How to Enter Data in Excel or importing data
• Label columns appropriately.
• Select proper cell format
How to Calculate Summary Statistics in Excel
• Two ways to calculate a measure of central tendency and
dispersion using
Excel (data analysis tools; type in the formula).
How to Generate Comparative Statistics in Excel
• Paired t-test

Excel will now show you the summary statistics. I have added
highlights to show the mean, standard deviation, standard error,
and sample size which are the summary statistics that you will
most commonly use for your write-ups in our labs.
