HEALTH FACILITY REGISTRY

Certification to Health Facilities


The facilities being registered under HFR can now download their ‘Digital Health
Facility’ certificate from the HFR portal indicating that they are part of ABDM
ecosystem. The certificate is available at the login of facility managers and provides a
QR Code which can be scanned by the patients and authenticate the registration of
the facility.

The facility manager can now access HFR with a mobile OTP linked to the facility.

Previously, users could only log in with their HPID or user name. This will make it
easier for users to log in to HFR.

ABDM INTEGRATORS

As of now total 164 partners have been integrated with ABDM.


ABDM INITIATIVES

MICROSITES
NHA had initiated the development of microsites to ensure
the digitalization of private sector, specially the small clinics,
hospitals and labs. The initiative is being implemented in
different states and till now 63 such microsites have been
established.
On December 19, 2023, Microsite Data Entry Application and
Microsite Dashboard was launched by Dr. Basant Garg, Addl.
CEO, NHA which will support monitoring the “100 Microsite”
project.
The application will be utilized by the representatives of implementing agencies to provide real time data
on the visits to facilities, registration of healthcare professionals and health facilities and ensuring the
creation of electronic medical records. The State, NHA and implementing agency, through Dashboard,
would be able to track the progress of the microsites. This will ensure an effective implementation and
appropriate intervention as may be required to ensure the attainment of the objective of the initiative.

NHA is providing the necessary support to the development partners, implementing agencies and the States
through webinars, meetings and workshops on the concept and guidelines. In the last two months, meetings
with Digital Solution Companies (DSCs) and Pharmacy DSCs were organized on November 08, 2023 and
December 05, 2023 respectively under the chairmanship of Dr. Akshay Jain, Joint Director, ABDM, NHA. The
roles of DSCs and the expectations from them was elaborated along with the orientation on 100 microsites
project. Apart from focused meeting with stakeholders, project development partner meet, re-orientation
workshop and all Stakeholder’s consultation were held on November 22, 2023, November 28, 2023 and
December 19, 2023 respectively.
ABDM INITIATIVES

SCAN AND SHARE


A major milestone of generating more than 1.5 crore tokens for OPD registrations using ABHA-based Scan and
Share service was achieved on December 23, 2023. This service is currently active in more than 3,400 health
facilities across 452 districts in 33 States and Union Territories of India.

Every day, over 1 lakh patients are saving time by skipping the queues of OPD registration specially in health
facilities like AIIMS. The top two performers during the month of November and December are AIIMS, Delhi
and AIIMS, Bhopal indicating the massive utilization of the services.

Six sessions have been conducted during November and December, 2024 for the State of Karnataka, Bihar,
Kerala, Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, and Gujarat to guide them to use ‘Scan & Share’ and resolve technical
glitches.

DIGITAL HEALTH INCENTIVE SCHEME

The DHIS portal, managing the claims process was successfully launched on November 29, 2023. The portal
facilitates to analyze the eligible records for incentives, calculate the amount of incentive and disburse the
amount to the identified facilities. The automated disbursement of payments through portal is directly
credited into the bank accounts of various healthcare facilities, clinics, diagnostic centres, laboratories,
pharmacies, digital solution companies which are registered under this scheme.
During November and December, 2023, 234 new hospitals and 12 new labs registered under the scheme. 321
facilities and 10 digital solution companies have been identified for incentives worth Rs. 4 crores during the
month of November, 2023.

NATIONAL ORGAN AND TISSUE TRANSPLANTATION ORGANIZATION (NOTTO)

NOTTO, in collaboration with the NHA, has envisaged to develop a digital platform to set up a digital system
for donation, maintaining records and sharing information regarding donors and organs in a systematic and
transparent manner. It has been planned to develop four registries; Pledge Registry, Recipient Registry, Living
donor Registry and Cadaveric Registry.
As on January 01, 2024, a total of 1,07,538 pledges has been undertaken out of which 17,281 were in November
and December, 2023. The top five performing states towards this initiative are Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,
Karnataka, Telangana and Rajasthan.

notto.abdm.gov.in.

ABDM PARTICIPATION

GLOBAL AYURVEDIC FESTIVAL


The Global Ayurveda Festival was organized at Green field International Stadium, Kerala from December
01 to 05, 2023 with the focal theme on “Emerging Challenges in Healthcare & a Resurgent Ayurveda”.
During the festival, on December 04, 2023, Mr. Kunal Arora, Program Manager sensitized around 750
Ayurvedic and homeopathic doctors about ABDM and its major building blocks like ABHA, HPR, HFR. He
also briefed on Scan & Share, DHIS followed by a dedicated session on Heal by India.

ABDM AWARENESS WORKSHOP AT AIIMS, MANGLAGIRI


AIIMS across the country plays an important role in providing the healthcare services and receives the
major footfall. Accordingly, the digitalization of AIIMS in India and the patients visiting the facilities would
develop use cases towards the adoption of ABDM. NHA has been conducting the workshops at different
AIIMS and the teams had visited AIIMS, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh on November 23, 2023 , AIIMS,
Manglagiri, Andhra Pradesh on November 29, 2023 and Kalyani, West Bengal on December 21, 2023.
The teams from NHA visited these AIIMS and briefed the participants about the benefits of ABDM and
registration under HPR and HFR. They ensured the implementation of scan and share in the OPD area and
trained the staff for usage of ABHA application. The teams also suggested the way forward and actionable
points for the facility.

ABDM and its building blocks. The initiatives
under ABDM were also elaborated.

The NIMACON-2023 event occurred in December, at KTHM


College, Nashik, Maharashtra to familiarize Ayurveda
practitioners with ABDM and HPR registration process. The
HPR team of NHA sensitized about ABHA, HPR, HFR, Scan
& Share and Heal by India etc. to approx. 400-500 Ayurveda On November 7, 2023, State team of Gujarat
students, government and private healthcare professionals, conducted an orientation session on Microsite
and college staff. During this event 200+ HPR registration for senior officials from districts and
completed successfully of Maharashtra state. corporations of Gujarat.
ABDM EVENTS

WORKSHOP ON ABDM AT UTTAR PRADESH


NHA conducted a workshop on ABDM adoption in
association with the UP State ABDM team and
development partners on December 21, 2023 . Officials
from NHA, State Health Department officials, 450+
representatives from diagnostics sector & ABDM
partners offering LMIS software participated in
workshop.
ORIENTATION WORKSHOP FOR STATE PRJECT MANAGEMENT UNITS
For an effective and efficient
implementation of ABDM, the states are
being provided with HR funds and are
expected to set up a project management
unit. 22 states have established the PMUs
till now and the orientation of such PMUs
is being implemented by NHA at central
level. Two batches of orientation
workshop were conducted on November 6
and 7, 2023 and December 13,14 and 15,
2023. First batch was of 39 participants
from the state of Assam, Bihar, Telangana,
Goa, Karnataka and Kerala and second
batch was of 32 participants from Ladakh
Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland,
Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
The workshop was conceptualized to cover
all the important aspects of ABDM,
financial management, administration
and roles and responsibilities of the
participants. The thematic areas covered
during the program included ABHA
number, ABHA App, Healthcare
professional registry, healthcare facility
registry, Sandbox, National Health Claim
Exchange, and Unified Health Interface.

WEBINARS BY NHA
NHA has been conducting regular webinars on different building blocks of the ABDM for the stakeholders.
During the webinars, the concept and latest updates are being explained along with addressing the specific
concerns of the stakeholders. The sessions are on HPR, ABHA, DHIS, HFR and ‘scan and share’, to the States,
integrators, hospitals, digital solution companies and the call center team. The integrators were also briefed
on Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 highlighting their responsibilities as data fiduciary.
ABDM EVENTS

INDUCTION PROGRAM FOR NEW MEMBERS OF NHA


NHA is expanding its team to ensure the
effective implementation of the mission.
Accordingly, the induction program for 20
new members of NHA was conducted from
November 8 to 10, 2023 covering all aspects
of ABDM and NHA. The participants were
briefed about the building blocks, their responsibilities, NHA organogram, PM-JAY, and its major aspects.

DELEGATIONS FROM GERMANY AND BANGLADESH


The delegations from Bangladesh and
Germany visited NHA to understand the
digital health in India on November 01,
2023 and December 04, 2023
respectively.The delegation from
Bangladesh was led by Dr. Md. Enamul
Haque, Health Economics Unit,
MoH&FW, Govt of Bangladesh and other
senior officials visited NHA.
Shri Akshay Jain, JD, NHA briefed them about AB PM-JAY and ABDM, the implementation strategy, impact
and vision ahead.
The German Delegation also visited AIIMS, Delhi to have the demonstration on the implementation of Scan
and share.

WORKSHOP SERIES ON NATIONAL HEALTH CLAIM EXCHANGE (NHCX)


NHA has conducted a series of workshop for integrators on NHCX
and ABDM integration. The workshops were targeted towards
accelerating the integration process by insurance companies and
hospitals. The workshop is aimed at helping these organisations to
complete their integration with ABDM and with National Health
Claim Exchange (NHCX). The workshops were held on November 07
to 09, 2023 and November 21 to 23, 2023 at IIHMR, Delhi campus.

1. Global Digital Health Monitor launched State of Digital Health Report 2023. December 6, 2023 – Washington,
DC – The Global Digital Health Monitor (GDHM) launched its State of Digital Health Report 2023 at the Global
Digital Health Forum. This helps countries to benchmark, prioritize, and monitor digital health progress at the
country, regional, and global levels. The GDHM enables countries and regions to track their digital health
maturity over time, advocate for resources, identify countries that are performing well to facilitate cross-country
learning, and support private sector entrepreneurs and investors to strategically prioritize new market entry and
strategies. The Monitor is available in multiple languages and includes dynamic visualizations by region and

virtually (Asia and East Africa time zones) and in-person in Washington, D.C. GDHF is a leading networking and
relationship-building opportunity to connect government stakeholders, digital health developers, health systems
leaders, researchers, donors, implementers, and field experts in public health and technology from across the

3. AI Offers Promise for Earlier and More Accurate HCC Diagnosis. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most
common type of liver cancer. It is a major global health concern with rising rates, particularly in North Africa and
East Asia. Although potentially curable in the early stages, HCC often remains undetected until it's too late for

4. Women are at higher risk of digital health exclusion in Sweden, new data shows. Women feel less safe than
men when using the Internet, and among people aged over 75 years, women tend to use the Internet less than
men, a new study carried out in Sweden’s Västra Götaland region shows. The data revealed significant differences
between men and women in perceptions of Internet safety in all age groups. In addition, people with disabilities
and long-term health conditions were found to be at higher risk of digital exclusion, which means that these
groups are less likely to benefit from digital technologies for health. Read More

5. Clinicians could be Fooled by Biased AI, Despite Explanations. AI models in health care are a double-edged
sword, with models improving diagnostic decisions for some demographics, but worsening decisions for others
when the model has absorbed biased medical data. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has oversight of
software powered by AI and machine learning used in health care and has issued guidance for developers. This
includes a call to ensure the logic used by AI models is transparent or explainable so that clinicians can review the

Clinical Ops Executives (SCOPE) Europe, which was held in Barcelona, Spain, Oct. 17-18, Andy Studna, editor of
Applied Clinical Trials, was on-site to moderate a panel on the interplay of electronic clinical outcome assessment
(eCOA), electronic patient-reported outcome (ePRO), and wider digital health technology (DHT) approaches in

1. Fifty crore people now have Ayushman Bharat Health Account numbers: Govt
Fifty crore people now have Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers under the government's
medical insurance scheme, the Union health ministry said on Friday. More than 1.5 crore patients have used
ABHA-based instant OPD registration service, and more than 50 lakh people are using the ABHA app to
manage their health records digitally, the ministry said. Read More

2. Over 5 crore ABHA accounts created in India’s Ayushman Bhav Campaign. In an unprecedented
achievement, the Ayushman Bhav campaign in India has reached a new pinnacle with the creation of more
than 5 crore ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) accounts as of 28th December 2023. This campaign has
also seen the generation of 4.45 crore Ayushman cards and the organization of 1.16 lakh Ayushman Sabha,

Authority (NHA) on December 13, 2023, announced the appointment of Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, 1993 batch IAS
officer, MP cadre as its CEO.

4. One crore OPD tokens generated using ABHA-based Scan and Share service; UP, Karnataka, and J&K top
performing states. Meanwhile, government hospitals including AIIMS, New Delhi, SRN Hospital, Prayagraj
