1. Name two ethical concerns related to AI.

Bias, Privacy, unemployment, inclusion

2. What do you mean by AI domains? Explain the 3 domains of AI with examples of each.
The domains of AI refer to different specialized areas where AI technologies and methodologies are
applied to solve specific types of problems.

Three primary domains of AI are:

● Computer Vision (CV) - Computer Vision is a field of AI that enables computers to interpret and
process visual information from the world, such as images and videos.
Applications: Image Recognition, Object Detection, Facial Recognition
● Natural Language Processing (NLP) - NLP focuses on the interaction between computers and
humans through natural language. It involves enabling machines to understand, interpret, and
generate human language.
Applications: Language Translation, Chatbots and Virtual Assistants, Sentiment Analysis
● Data Science - Data Science involves using scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and
systems to extract insights and knowledge from structured and unstructured data.
Applications: Recommendation systems, Fraud detection

3. How do you understand whether a machine/application is AI based or not? Explain with

the help of an example.
Understanding whether a machine or application is AI-based involves determining if it uses
algorithms and models to simulate human intelligence, such as learning from data, making
decisions, or recognizing patterns.
Eg: A Smart Virtual Assistant (like Siri or Alexa) is an AI based voice assistant that can answer
questions, set reminders, play music, control smart home devices, and more by using natural
language processing (NLP) to understand spoken language, machine learning to improve its
responses over time, and decision-making algorithms to perform tasks.
At the same time, a Basic Calculator is not AI because it doesn't learn from data, recognize patterns,
make decisions, or adapt over time. It simply follows predefined rules for calculations without
any form of intelligence or learning.

4. Is data collected by various applications ethical in nature? Justify your answer.

The ethical nature of data collected by applications depends on how the data is handled. Ethical data
collection occurs when users are informed about what data is being collected, why it's being
collected, and they give clear consent. The data should be used only for the stated purpose,
collected in minimal amounts necessary, and kept secure. Transparency about these practices and
allowing users to control their data, like accessing or deleting it, are also important. For example,
a fitness app that tells you it will collect workout data, asks for your permission, and keeps your
data safe is acting ethically. On the other hand, if a social media app collects your data without
telling you, uses it for targeted ads, and shares it with others without your consent, it is acting
unethically.

5. What is AI Access?
AI Access" generally refers to the availability and ability to use artificial intelligence technologies
and services. This can encompass various aspects such as Access to AI Tools and Platforms,
Access to APIs and Libraries, Access to Data and Resources for training and running AI, Access
to Educational Resources etc.

6. What is the importance of AI in the medical field?

AI is revolutionizing the medical field by enhancing various aspects of healthcare.
It improves diagnostic accuracy through advanced algorithms that analyze medical images like X-
rays and MRIs, leading to early disease detection and better treatment outcomes.
AI enables personalized treatment by analyzing individual patient medical history to create tailored
treatment plans, reducing side effects and improving results.
Predictive analytics powered by AI can forecast disease risks and complications, allowing for early
intervention and preventive care.
In drug discovery, AI accelerates the identification of potential drug candidates, shortening
development time and costs.
AI also streamlines administrative tasks, such as scheduling and billing, enhancing operational
efficiency.
Virtual health assistants powered by AI offer patients immediate information and support, increasing
accessibility and engagement. Additionally,
AI contributes to robotic surgery by improving precision, leading to minimally invasive procedures
and quicker recoveries.

7. Decision making is done based on:

a. Logic, sequence, condition
b. Information, experience, reasoning
c. Operations, strategy, logic
d. Logic, operations, sequence

8. How can AI be integrated with non-AI technologies? Explain with the help of an example.
Consider a standard washing machine that just washes clothes based on a set program. If you add AI
to it, the washing machine can become a smart appliance. For instance, AI can analyze the type
of fabrics and the amount of dirt in the load to automatically select the best washing cycle. It can
also track your washing habits and suggest the most efficient settings to save water and energy.
Additionally, if the machine detects any issues, it can alert you or even provide troubleshooting
tips. So, while the basic washing machine only performs standard washing functions, integrating
AI makes it more intelligent and efficient in managing your laundry.
