The history of television started in the late 19th century with experiments to send

pictures through electrical signals. In 1884, German inventor ‘’Paul Nipkow’’

created the ‘’Nipkow’’ disk, a mechanical device that could scan and send images.
However, the real breakthrough in electronic television came in the early 20th
century. In 1927, American inventor ‘’Philo Farnsworth’’ developed the first fully
electronic television system, replacing earlier mechanical systems and leading to
the modern TV we know today.

In the 1930s, other inventors like ‘’Vladimir Zworykin’’ and ‘’Charles Francis
Jenkins’’ also made important contributions to the development of TV technology.
Black-and-white TVs became common in the late 1930s and early 1940s as
broadcasting systems and image standards were improved.

In the 1950s, color television was introduced, with new technology like color
picture tubes making it possible to watch shows in color. TV became a popular
item in homes, especially in Western countries. In the 1990s, digital TV replaced
analog, offering better picture quality and more features.

By the 2000s, flat-screen TVs like LCD, LED, and OLED became popular, and
new technologies like 4K and 8K were introduced. TVs became more than just a
way to watch shows—they became smart, connecting to the internet and offering
streaming services. Today, television is an essential part of modern life, with TVs
becoming a central feature in homes around the world.
