Extracting cube root (no calculator or manually)
Extracting cube roots without a calculator or manually computing involves a
few different mathematical techniques, most commonly estimation or
prime factorization, here are the steps and other method:

1. Estimation Method
This method works best for numbers close to perfect cubes. The steps are
as follows:

Step 1: Identify the range.

Find two perfect cubes between which your given number lies. For example,
if you want to find the cube root of 50.

3^3 = 27, three cubed is 27.

4^3 = 64, four cubed is 64.

Thus, 50 lies between 27 and 64, so the cube root of 50 lies between 3 and
4.

Step 2: Refine the range.

Divide the range into smaller increments to narrow down the estimate. You
can try values like (3.5), (3.6), (3.7), and so on, until you get closer to the
desired number.

Calculate approximate cubes for these values

3.5^3 = 42.875

3.6^3 = 46.656

3.7^3 = 50.653

Since 50 is between 3.6^3 and 3.7^3, the cube root of 50 is closer to 3.7
Step 3: Further refine (if needed).
You can refine even more by testing values like (3.65), (3.66), etc., to get
closer to the desired precision.

2. Prime Factorization Method(Best method)

This method works well when the given number is a perfect cube or can be
easily broken into smaller factors.

Step 1: Perform prime factorization

Write the number as a product of its prime factors. For example, to find the
cube root of 216:

216=2×2×2×3×3×3=2^3×3^3

Step 2: Take the cube root of each factor

The cube root of 2^3 is 2, and the cube root of 3^3 is 3

Multiply the results: 2*3 = 6

Thus, the cube root of 216 is 6.

3. Using the Cube Root Algorithm (Long

Division Method)
The cube root algorithm is an old and complex technique but precise
method of extracting cube roots and is similar to long division.

Step 1: Group the digits

Starting from the decimal point, group the digits of the number into sets
of three, moving both left and right. For example, for 12167,the grouping is
12, 167
Step 2: Find the largest cube
For the first group (from left), find the largest integer whose cube is less
than or equal to that group. For 12, the largest cube is 2^3 = 8

Write 2 as the first digit of the cube root

Step 3: Subtract and bring down the next group

-Subtract 8 from 12, which gives 4, and bring down the next group of three
digits, making it 4167.

Step 4: Use a trial-and-error process

Use trial and error to find the next digit (x) such that when you multiply

(20 + x)^2*x), the product is less than or equal to (4167). Repeat the
process until you have enough decimal places.

This method can be tedious but works well with practice.
