Amul
Amul is an abbreviation of Anand Milk Union Limited, this company was established in 1946 in anand
gujarat. It was started to address the exploitation of dairy farmers by middlemen. Under the leadership of
Dr. Varghese Kurien, amul changed and revolutionized India's dairy industry and had a very important
role in the success of white revolution, which made india one of the largest milk producers in the world.

Amul operates as a cooperative society, a business where farmers are both owners and stakeholders of the
organization. As a cooperative, Amul collects milk from many small dairy farmers, processes it, and
markets dairy products under a single brand. This model allows farmers to receive a stable income, fair
prices for their product and a share of the profits. By cutting out middlemen amul has a direct contact with
farmers with consumers, this improves the economic conditions of the rural communities involved.

of milk, and efficiency in operation/production

recieva a guaranteed price for their milk, which is ususally higher than martket rates, this pricing model
shields farmers from market change
