TSC Console

Users’ Manual
Hello!

Thank you for selecting TSC printers. TSC Console Combine the Printer Management, Diagnostic Tool,

CommTool and Printer Webpage settings, providing users the more friendly interface and using

experience . This User’s guide would provides the essential information required for manipulating.

1. Getting Started

 Click TSC Console Setup.exe and select language to complete the installation

TSC Console Setup.exe

 Double Click the icon to enter into TSC Console interface.

3. Add Printers
 Click the Printers and select Add Printers.

3.1 Interface Setting
USB
Select USB and click OK to find the device.

COM Port (RS232 and Bluetooth)
RS232:
 Use COM Port through the computer to connect to the printer.

 Select the corresponding COM Port and finish the setup.

Bluetooth:
 Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers> Add Device (Select the Bluetooth name)

 Control Panel>Hardware and Sound> Devices and Printers >Device Manager (Check COM Port)

 Select the corresponding Com Port on TSC Console.

LPT:
 Select the LPT Port and click OK.

※ Printer LPT port is one way communication. It can not receive feedback of the info from the printer.

Network (Ethernet and WiFi)
Ethernet:
 Connect the ethernet cable to the Printer.

 Select Network and ways of discovering ethernet.

 Click Discover.

※ Printer firmware version before A.12 and Alpha-2R/3R/4L, TDM series can only be discovered through “IP Address” option.

WiFi:
 Use USB or COM Port to set up the interface.

 Double Click the Status Bar to enter into Printer Configuration.

 Click Get to receive printer’s info and finish WiFi setting by clicking WiFi tab.

 Click Set and the priter will reset.

 Click Get to ensure printer has connected to WiFi.

 Return to the Add Printers dialog box and click Network.

 Select ways of discovering the WiFi devices.

 Click Discover to find the corresponding printer.

※ Printer firmware version before A.12 and Alpha-2R/3R/4L, TDM series can only be discovered through “IP Address” option.

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

When setup is completed, printer will automatically send receiver a mail of notification in case the printer is

in error state.

Printer Setup- SNTP (Ethernet Only)

SNTP = Simple Network Time Protocol

This function could sync printer system clock with ethernet timing.

4.3 Features Tab- Emulation
Emulation provides ZPL and DPL language setting on TSC printers.

4.4 Features Tab – TPH Care
TPH Care could check condition of the print head. Set the failure dots threshold for indicating errors when

the threshold is reached.

4.5 Features Tab – Smart Battery
Smart Battery shows the battery information of the printer (Mobile Printers Only.)

4.6 SOTI Setup
This function could setup the required parameters for printers to work with SOTI Connect.

5. Tools

In this section, users are able to set up the printer by Comm Tool, or download and edit the files by File

Manager and Bitmap Font Manager.

5.1 CommTool
CommTool supports programming languages and the hex data commands.

There are totally 12 editors in

5.2 File Manager
File Manager helps users download files and delete files from printers’ memory.

 File Download shows the interface for selecting file types, filename and download destination.

 File Information can indicate downloaded files and available memory, deleting files in the selected

memory device.

Download Files

 Choose the File Type.

 Select Browse to find the file.

 Specify the Momory Device to be stored with.

 Import file to printer by clicking Download.

※ BPM, PCX, True Type Font, Bitmap Font, Printer BASIC File, and Data File will automatically generate

the header and save to specified memory device through File Manager before downloading.

※ Enable Save to File could save the file to memory device as well.

Edit the Storage

 Specify the Memory Device and click Get.

 Delete the file by clicking Remove.

 Click Format to clean the memory.

5.3 Bitmap Font Manager
Bitmap Font Manager could convert the selected TTF font into printer format bitmap font. Both fixed

pitch and variable pitch bitmap font are supported.

Download Fonts to Printer
 Set up font setting and Printer Device.

 Select Font and size.

 Click Download Font.

 Check File Manager.

6. Advandced

In Advanced section, users are able to set the group setting, set the password and alert, and adjust

preference through TSC console to the printer.

6.1 Group Manager
Use Group Manager to select and filter the certain interface to make it easier to setup printers.

Click Advanced to access Group Manager or click on the Quick Access Icon as below.

Group the Certain Interface

 Enter the Group Manager.

 Type the Group Name.

 Select the Interface.

 Click Add to complete setting.

 Back to interface and select Group.

6.2 Users Manager
This function allows user to set the password on TSC Console for protecting printers’ setting.

 Enter the User ID and Password.

 Click Add to complete setup and TSC Console will restart.

6.3 Alert Manager
Alert Manager provide the records of printers’ errors and status, making user understand printer’s

condition in certain period.

6.4 Manual Name Manager
Manual Name Manager provides the function which could help users modify printers’ name making it

more recognizable.

 Edit the munual name by using Batch Modification or double click the Manual Name Column

6.5 Preference
Preference provide users the function of adjusting system setting.
