ABSTRACT

The inability of manual cash register to give an accurate and efficient day-to-day
transaction has led many business organization to collapse. Business organization
need an effective and efficient method of storing, retrieving and given a reliable,
efficient and accurate result on each daily transaction. Hence the need to develop
an improved point-of-sale (POS) system for Business environment. The
programming language for implementation is Visual Basic programming (VB)
with MYSQL as Database. The methodology adopted is Rapid Application
Development (RAD) approach. The system of a workable POS will reduce
inaccurate manual cash register, provide fast and easy transaction whereby,
customers will no longer move around with cash, hence making business easier to
everyone. This work will be beneficial to supermarkets, filling stations, restaurants
and any other business organization that is involve in daily transactions.
