AIMS
The goal of this module is to understand the importance of IT in the field of communication. The range of tools and concepts to be looked into range from software to produce simple text documents to more complex tools geared towards publishing different types of media for the internet.

OUTLINE SYLLABUS
This module entails a hands-on approach to IT for Communication purposes. Students will be introduced to the use of computers and IT packages for word-processing, preparing presentations and using databases. They will also be exposed to the use of internet (search engines, web pages, e-mail, etc.) and the construction of simple web pages. Continuous assessment and Exams will be labbased.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
More specifically, after successful completion of the module, students should
be conversant in manipulating a computer, be conversant with the essential functions of office packages, be able to use a simple Database, be at ease when using or searching for information over the internet, be able to design simple websites, be conversant with blogging, be conversant in manipulating the different types of media
