Controlling is an important function of management which all the managers are required to perform. In order to contribute
towards achievement of organisational objectives, a manager is required to exercise effective control over the activities of

B. The term 'deviations' refers to the difference between the actual performance and planned performance. If the actual
performance is more than the planned performance, it may be said to be positive in nature or vice-versa.
