Cloud Storage
Riya Lachheta
Introduction
Cloud storage is a type of computing that relies on sharing the pool of physical and
virtual resources rather than deploying local or personal hardware and software.
This research will explore the architecture of cloud computing that is defined by layers. There
are three main layers: cloud infrastructure, cloud application platform, and cloud application
software. The layer that includes cloud storage is Infrastructure as a Service. Physical and virtual
resources used to construct the cloud are included in this layer.
Also, the concept of Cloud Storage will be explained. It means that a customer will save their
data within the cloud instead of on a local system, accessing the data through network
connectivity and client service (Galloway, 2013).
Finally, this paper will provide a summary of some of the enterprise solutions for businesses that
are in the market. Among the most popular are the Amazon solutions like Amazon Simple
Storage Service (S3), Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), and Amazon Elastic Block Store
(EBS). Also, this research will show enterprise solutions such as Google Drive, oriented to
website usage, and DropBox offer a significant level of technical control.
