3- Once the four outriggers contact the ground:
➢ The four green ground contact indicators light up.
➢ The engine speed slows down.
➢ The red outrigger position indicator switches off.
➢ The levelling sequence starts.
4- Keep the lever tilted until:
➢ The tilt indicator switches off.
➢ An acoustic signal sounds (4 quick beeps).
The outrigger movement stops automatically once the chassis is level.
Before a new attempt is made to automatically level the machine, the four outriggers must be
retracted until none contact the ground (system reset).
2- Outrigger cylinders reaching the end of their course or tilt aggravation detection.
If the outriggers reach the end of their course before the chassis is level or if the chassis tilt
gets worse instead of being corrected:
➢ The levelling sequence is interrupted.
➢ An acoustic alarm (continuous sound) is triggered if the extension movement of
the outriggers is controlled.
- Check the condition and resistance of the ground.
- Possibly move the machine on a surface where it will be possible to level the machine.
-NOTE-
A specific procedure makes it possible to the work platform in the event an outrigger
looses contact with the ground or if the authorised tilt on outriggers is exceeded. Refer
to Section 7.2- Neutralisation of safety devices
• Generator operation
1- Start the combustion engine and select the work platform control station.
2- Tilt the generator’s switch to ON.
➢ The indicator lights up signalling the onboard generator is operational.

- Structure movement speed reduction.
- Telescope extension cut-out.
- Elevation movement for arms 1 and 2 cut-out.
- Arm 2 lowering movement and structure rotation movement cut-out until the telescope is
not fully retracted.
- Combined movements prohibited.
If a fault occurs when the platform is raised and is occupied by personnel, appropriate
measures must be taken to rescue the platform's occupants.
The anti-crushing system consists of a pressure sensitive bar mounted in front of the work
platform control station.
If during a drive or elevation movement, the operator finds himself in a crushing situation (beam,
tree branch…) he will activate the anti-crush bar with his body.
➢ The ongoing movement will stop immediately.
➢ The movement will automatically reverse for about one second.
➢ An acoustic alarm will sound.
To restore machine operation, the anti-crush bar must be released, the controls returned to
neutral and the enable pedal released.
The priority ground control station remains operational even if the anti-crush bar remains
activated.
The emergency controls must only be used by personnel with detailed knowledge of the
machine's operating characteristics and the ground control functions.
Should the platform get jammed or stuck in an overhead structure or equipment, stop operating
the machine immediately. Use other equipment to rescue the platform's occupants. Stabilise the
machine before you try to release it. Make sure you do not control any movements that might
lead to the machine tipping over.
It is possible to momentarily override a function or safety mechanism to return the platform to its
low position and rescue the operator(s) in the work platform.
Overriding a function or safety mechanism is strictly limited to the following cases:
- The load control device has been triggered by a collision with an overhead obstacle or is
faulty.
- An outrigger has lost contact with the ground when the platform was raised (Zebra 16
Stab only)
- The authorised tilt on outrigger has been exceeded when the platform was raised (Zebra
16 Stab only)

4- The settings menu request a 4 digit PIN code (contact ATN for mor information)
5- Only after you have entered the PIN code, flip up the safety cover for the override switch,
tilt and hold the lever upwards.
-NOTE-
If the combustion engine is not running, activation of the safety override switch will
automatically activate the auxiliary hydraulic group. The safety override activation
makes the alarm sounds and light on the maintenance indicator.
6- Use the control levers for the movements on the control box face to control the
appropriate clearing movement and return the platform to its low position.
-NOTE-
It recommended to retract the telescope before controlling a movement of arm 2
and prioritize no aggravating movements.
In case of engine failure or machine malfunction, it is possible, after releasing the brakes, to tow
the machine.
This operation is reserved for emergencies only when the machine must be moved.
The machine must be fully lowered, and nobody should be onboard the platform.
5- Install the flange and tighten the bolt onto the brake piston. Tighten the counternut to pull
the piston and release the brake.
Perform this operation on each hydraulic
motor on the rear axle.
Zebra 12
6- Loosen the bypass valve on the
transmission pump by 2 turns maximum.
(Do not exceed 2 turns to prevent any
external leak).
7- Using appropriate equipment, tow the Zebra 16
machine only at slow speed and on
horizontal grounds.
8- Once the towing has been performed,
block the machine's wheels, remove the
2 Tr Max.
flanges to restore the brakes and tighten
the by-pass valve.
2 Tr Max.
(3) (3)
10- Release the driving joystick and check the machine stop moving.
After an incident, inspect the machine carefully and test the good working order of all controls
and safeties. See section 3.3 Only raise the platform by a metre if all the damages have been
repaired and if all the controls are operating correctly. If in doubt, contact your reseller or the
manufacturer.
This section is intended to provide the operator with the information to carry out verification and
common maintenance operations on the machine. The following information does not replace
the machine's preventive maintenance and inspection programme.

8.3 HOSES
Each time you start working with the machine, you have to check hoses statement and their
connections. Each hose with a leak, pinch, abrasion or in such of other wear has to be replaced.
Damaged hoses have to be replaced exclusively with exactly same characteristics hoses
(length, allowed max pressure, diameter, bend radius, hose fittings).
8.4 WHEELS
CAUTION
Wheel torque must be checked after the first 50
hours of operation and every 3 months or 100 DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH TO
operating hours thereafter. TIGHTEN THE WHEEL NUTS.
• Wheel replacement
The machine’s stability will be affected if the wheels are not replaced by wheels of identical
characteristics (dimensions, load capacity, flattening under load, disc position, mass…).
The wheel nuts must be torqued and kept at the appropriate torque to prevent the wheels
from becoming loose. The nuts must be tightened with a torque wrench. Excessive torquing
of the nuts will lead to the studs breaking or the thread being deformed.
• Wheel tightening
1- Screw all the nuts on by hand. Do not lubricate the threads.
2- Tighten the nuts turn by turn, respecting the order and the tightening steps indicated
below:
