CHAPTER1

1.1 INTRODUCTION

The pharmaceutical industry is an industry involved in medicine that discovers,


develops, produces, and markets pharmaceutical goods for use as drugs that function by
being administered to (or self-administered by) patients using such medications with
the goal of curing and/or preventing disease (as well as possibly alleviating symptoms
of illness and/or injury).[1][2] Pharmaceutical companies may deal in "generic"
medications and medical devices without the involvement of intellectual property, in
"brand" materials is specifically tied to a given company's history, or in both within
different contexts. The industry's has various subdivisions (which include distinct areas
such as manufacturing biologics) are all subject to a variety of laws and regulations that
govern entire financial processes including the patenting, efficacy testing, safety
evaluation, and marketing of these drugs. The global pharmaceuticals market produced
treatments worth $1,228.45 billion in 2020, in total, and this showed a compound annual
growth rate (CAGR) of 1.8% given the results of recent events (which includes the
COVID-19 pandemic).

Shreya Life Sciences is a state-of-the-art Pharmaceutical Organization involved in


Research, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales and Distribution of Medicinal Formulations
and Products.
Beginning its journey in 1995 in Russia, Shreya Life Sciences started as a
pharmaceutical distributing and marketing company. In the course of over two decades,
Shreya Life Sciences has pioneered innovations and achieved milestones in acquiring
new companies, commissioning new products as well as expanding its market & contract
manufacturing presence with reach and operations in Russia.

CHAPTER 2

2.1 OBJECTIVE OF TRAINING


 To expose the trainee to the environment in the world of work.
 To equip students with practical and hands-on skills needed in the world of work.
 To enable students’ interface and get exposure to the dynamics of applying
theoretical knowledge to real industrial routine operations.
 To create linkage for future field reference and placement of students by industry.
 To create linkage between the world of work and institutions.
 To identify gaps in the curriculum this will lead to its improvement.
 To boost and improve students' competencies so as to keep abreast. With the
changing demands of world of work and technological advancement.

2.1.1TECHNICAL DETAILS – LEARNING

Pharmaceutical industry- A Pharmaceutical Industry is an industry where lives saving


drugs are prepared with excessive care and standards. So, it is very different from other
industries.

RAW MATERIAL STORAGE AREA


The store department of Shreya Life Science is divided into two compartments, one for
excisable and the other for no excisable goods. The product is sent to the receiver along
with one copy of the bill which has information related to the Name, Amount, Tax and
the final cost of the product.
The transporter’s consignment and a copy of the bill are stored in commercial store.
Entries of incoming and outgoing goods are made in same ledger. There are following
auditors assigned for inspections of records are:-
 Internal Auditors: Check the ledger daily.
 Excise Auditors: Time to time check, especially for excisable goods.
 Statutory Auditors: Representatives of state government, check throughout the
year.
The store of Shreya Life Science is divided into following rooms:-

 Cold Room: In which aluminum foil, empty capsules, loose drugs


and vitamins are stored. The temperature of this room is 15`C to
20`C.
