2. Learning Outcomes
This exercise is designed to help students achieve the following competencies:
● Understand the issues and constraints of manual management systems in
enterprises

of management, development, and optimization of business processes
● Be able to install Axelor software
● Understand some features and modules of Axelor software
● Apply the features of Axelor software to solve problems and meet the needs of
digital transformation in enterprises

3. Project Assignment
3.1. Topic:
Optimizing Operation Process at “TechManufacture Co.” using Axelor.

Objective: The objective of this case study is to identify operational challenges at


a mid-sized manufacturing company and develop solutions utilizing various Axelor
ERP modules. The students will assess the efficacy of Axelor's platform in
enhancing the company's operational efficiency, productivity, and decision-making
processes.

3.2. Scenario
TechManufacture Co. is a mid-sized manufacturer of electronic components
based in Vietnam. The company has been operational for 10 years and employs
200 workers. They manufacture components for various tech companies across
Southeast Asia. However, as demand for their products grows, they are facing
several operational challenges. They currently use a mix of legacy software and
manual processes to manage different aspects of their business.

Please note that this is only a simulation case study and is not related to any real
business.

3.3. Identified Problems


The key managers of TechManufacture Co. held a meeting to address current
challenges and limitations in their operational process. The following issues were
highlighted:

Inventory Management
● The company struggles with real-time tracking of inventory, leading to
frequent stockouts of critical components or excess inventory piling up.
● They currently manage inventory through spreadsheets, which leads to
human errors and delays in ordering raw materials.

Production Planning and Scheduling


● There are frequent delays in production because the company’s production
planning is based on outdated methods that don’t account for real-time
demand or machine availability.
● Machine downtime is not accurately tracked, causing significant disruptions in
the production cycle.

Procurement Inefficiencies

● Their procurement process is manually intensive, with multiple departments


needing to approve purchase orders. This slows down the sourcing of raw
materials.
● There is also no visibility into supplier performance, leading to delays from
unreliable suppliers.

Customer Relationship Management Issues


● TechManufacture Co. faces difficulties in maintaining long-term relationships
with clients because they do not have a centralized system to manage
customer data, track sales inquiries, and follow up on leads.
● They have no tools for demand forecasting based on customer behavior.

3.4. Requirements:
For the sake of this discussion, let’s assume that your company is an expert group
of digital transformation consultants serving the business community.
TechManufacture Co. has requested your advice regarding a potential solution to
their issue. Due to the current resources available to TechManufacture Co., the
company is only able to undertake digital transformation projects for one
department at a time.
● Select one of TechManufacture Co.'s current challenges and develop a
solution to address it.

● Implement the solution on Axelor and provide a brief demonstration of the
approach you have proposed.
● The proposal and instructions on how to use Axelor to solve the problem
should be presented in the form of a report. Additionally, record a brief video
to explain the solution and demonstrate its functionality on Axelor.
4. Assessment
● Form: Oral defense (mid-term)
● Presentation slides
● Demo video with explanation in voice or subtitle
● Each team will have 15 minutes to present and 10 minutes to QnA
● The teacher will give the total scores, the team should discuss to have the
point for each individual based on the contribution to team work
5. Submission rules
Submit a compressed file which includes:
● Report including the members Information and details of work assignment(
which tasks and % tasks completed). Format: .pdf
● Demo videos
Cheating will result in 0, no exception

It is okay to use the available Axelor Open Suite Docker image, but if you use an
Apple with Apple silicon chip, so poor you . The Docker image may not
perform correctly.
