the total by 139 2. If the dimensional weight exceeds the actual weight, charges may be
assessed based on the dimensional weight. If the chargeable weight of a FedEx Ground,
FedEx Home Delivery, or FedEx International Ground shipment exceeds 150 lbs., a
prorated per-pound rate will be used. Package shape and dimensions may change
during transit, which can affect the package’s dimensional weight and surcharge
eligibility. If the dimensions change during transit, FedEx may make appropriate
adjustments to the shipment charges at any time.
Dimensions of one-half inch or greater are rounded up to the next whole number;
dimensions less than one-half inch are rounded down.
FedEx applies dimensional weight to all shipments in customer packaging and may
apply it to shipments in FedEx packaging. Dimensional weight applies on a per-package
or per-shipment basis for U.S. shipments, international shipments, and U.S.-to-Puerto
Rico shipments. Dimensional weight is applicable on a per-freight-handling-unit basis

packages in a multiple-piece shipment may have different weights, dimensions, and
declared value. Within the U.S. only, individual packages in a multiple-piece shipment
processed using FedEx electronic shipping solutions may contain different designations
of dangerous goods or hazardous materials. All labeling requirements, guidelines, and
restrictions apply. Each individual piece or single handling unit must have an address
label showing complete sender and recipient addresses.
Multiple-piece shipments tendered as express freight must be palletized, stackable,
forkliftable, banded, and shrinkwrapped to form single freight handling units.
Once a multiple-piece shipment tendered via a U.S. package service reaches a total
shipment weight of 100 lbs. (200 lbs. for FedEx Express Saver or with contract-only
FedEx Ground Multiweight rates). It is rated based on price per package and price
per total shipment weight. You are billed the lower of the two rates. A 15-lb. average
minimum package weight for the shipment applies. For contract-only FedEx Ground
Multiweight rates, an average minimum package weight for the shipment applies and
varies by contract. FedEx One Rate multiple-piece shipments are not eligible for FedEx
Multiweight pricing.
FedEx international multiple-piece shipments are billed based on total shipment
weight. Package weights are summed to get the total shipment weight. Package rated
weights can be based on weights or dimensional weights that were FedEx-captured
or customer-provided on individual packages. Packages can also be rated based on
weights or dimensional weights that were calculated based on total shipment weight
and distributed across individual packages, or a combination thereof. Invoices include
associated messages describing which of the package weights or dimensions was used
if package detailed billing is enabled.
All FedEx electronic shipping solutions can create shipping labels for FedEx multiple-
piece shipments within the U.S., and will place a master tracking number and package-
count sequence and total on each label. A FedEx Package US Airbill or FedEx Freight US
Airbill can accept up to 999 pieces as a multiple-piece shipment (except for shipments in
FedEx® Envelope or FedEx 10kg Box and FedEx 25kg Box packaging).
