Job Description: Design Engineer - Electrical

Job description Qualification - Diploma / B. Tech / Degree in Electrical.

- 3-5 Year experience in Electrical Design (4-6 Year for Diploma


holders).

- Well versed with AutoCAD & Electrical Design.

Job Description
1. Responsible for the drafting and preparation of electrical drawings based on inputs from the
designer and following the standards.
2. Preparing Earthing layout, Lightning protection layout, Lighting layout, Power layout, In slab
containment layouts, cable tray routing layout, busbar routing layout, Electrical room
layouts, Single line diagram, Panel layouts, etc.
3. Preparing load schedules, Voltage Drop Calculations, Cable schedule, etc.
4. Initiating the Kick off meeting with customers for project discussion and coordination.
5. Independently handle projects and drawings to meet the client requirement.
6. Hands on experience in developing electrical System Design drawings and Electrical single
line diagram using tools like AutoCAD.
7. Conduct necessary training to the Junior engineers as and when required.

This job also involves the following aspects –

o Ability to independently communicate with Clients in written and spoken English.


o Ability to independently create electrical design drawings based on client instructions and
standards.
o Ability to handle projects and drawings independently.
o Ability to understand the architecture drawing and decide the effective routing of conduit
and cables in the plan.
o Ability to understand complete MEP system.
o Ability to understand other mechanical services for coordination and power requirements.
o Ability to get trained and work on newer Design Software.
o Ability to undertake offshore visit to client office if required for detailed training and one to
one session.

Key Skills Required:

The following statements define the experience that is needed in order to apply for this position -

o 3-5 Year experience in electrical system design (4-6 Year for Diploma holders).
o Knowledge of electrical system design, standards and calculations.
o Experience in electrical design for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
o Experience in overseas and specifically in US projects are an added advantage.
o Very good knowledge of AutoCAD software for preparing Design layouts.
o Knowledge in Auto CAD Electrical is an added advantage.
o Experience of using MS Office.
o Good spoken and written English communication skills.
