Documents Checklist
This section will provide a comprehensive checklist of the documents you need to apply
for a Canadian study visa:
1. Valid Passport: The passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in
Canada. For example, if you plan to attend a two-year course starting September
2022, at least your passport should be valid until September 2024.
2. Proof of Acceptance from DLI: In Quebec, you also require a CAQ (Québec
Acceptance Certificate), which the Quebec Government issues. For a course that is
less than 6 months, a CAQ is not required.
3. Proof of Funds: Proof of funds is also required in the Canada student visa
process; it shows you have enough funds to pay for tuition and living expenses.
You can use a Canadian bank account, a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC),
bank statements, or other documents to prove funding.
4. Passport Size Photographs: You will need two photographs that are not older
than six months, and if they are digital, they should be at least 35mm x 45mm in
size and recent.
5. Immigration Medical Examination (IME): International students from India
must undergo an Immigration Medical Examination by a panel physician to comply
with Canadian Immigration requirements.
6. English Language Proficiency Exam Score: While not mandatory at the time
of application, it is highly recommended that students obtain their English
Language Proficiency Score before starting their visa application process.
Acceptable scores include TOEFL and IELTS.
7. Statement of Purpose: Although this is listed as an optional document, it is
strongly advised to submit one.

8. Letter of Recommendation (LOR): These letters can be from teachers,
professors, or supervisors.
9. Credit Card: The fee for Indian students is CAD 150; only credit cards are
accepted, not debit cards.
