Impact of technology on environment
4
select few fabrications are necessities, (airplanes, food machines, etc.). People really need
to stop relying on artificial intelligence for simple tasks. While technology can be a
powerful force to improve our standard of living, it comes at a cost. New technological
goods are often burdensome to the environment. This damage may come from acquiring
the resources to produce new technology, or from toxic byproducts of technological
production. It can consist of environmentally harmful waste produced by the technology
itself, or the castoff remains of obsolete technology. This very first technology and its
impact on natural environment brought greenhouse gas emissions which accumulated
through more than a million years of widespread use of fire.
Negative impacts
Positive impacts
Technology may not be able to fix all environmental issues but it invariably can
contribute to its betterment when channelised correctly. The reason why the
environment is in such bad shape is due to the wrong implementation and
practice of technology. Climate changes, global warming and pollution are
influenced not by technology but the mismanagement of it. It is concluded that
5
uncontrollable and unauthorized usage of technology impacts the environment
negatively but if targeted rightly has the capability and the potential to restore
the environment. Therefore, it is the use of technology that determines the
positive or negative impact and the aim should be to position technology in a
way where the current health of the environment which surrounds us is cured
and emphatically reinstituted.

QUESTIONNAIRE FOR SURVEY
1. How many hours a day do you spend using electronics devices?
2. Do you believe technology can help reduce environmental pollution?
3. Have you noticed any changes in your daily life due to technology's
environmental impacts?
4. How concerned are you about the environmental impact of technology?
5. Do you think recycling programs for electronics should be improved?
6. Do you think that technology has a role in solving environmental problems?
7. How often do you recycle or properly dispose of old electronic devices?
8. What do you think is the biggest environmental issue related to making
electronic devices?
9. Have you heard of the term "e-waste" (electronic waste)?
10.Do you believe that companies should do more to reduce the environmental
impact of their technology products?
11.Which type of technology do you think helps the environment the most?
12.How likely are you to choose environmentally-friendly technology (e.g.,
energy-efficient gadgets) if given the option?
13.Do you think technology companies should be required to make their
products more recyclable?

Conclusion
This report provides an overview of the impact of technology on the environment and
human lifestyles . The majority of attendees were found to be students.
The responses indicate a growing awareness and concern about the environmental impact
of technology, but also highlight several gaps in action and knowledge. While most
respondents believe technology can help reduce pollution and are open to adopting
environmentally-friendly products, they are also concerned about the negative effects,
such as increased e-waste, energy consumption, and factory pollution.
A significant majority recognizes the need for improvement in recycling programs for
electronics and believes that companies should be required to make their products more
recyclable. Despite this, many individuals are still unsure about how to properly recycle
their devices or do so only occasionally.
The biggest environmental issues associated with electronic devices are disposal
(e-waste), energy consumption during production, and the pollution caused by
manufacturing processes. While there is hope that technologies like solar panels and
energy-efficient appliances can help mitigate these issues, there is still uncertainty about
the role of technology in solving broader environmental problems.
Overall, the data suggests that while people are increasingly concerned about the
environmental consequences of technology and are supportive of solutions, more
education, infrastructure, and corporate responsibility are needed to address these
challenges effectively.
This survey highlights growing awareness and concern regarding the environmental
impact of technology. While many respondents recognize the potential for technology to
reduce pollution and support environmentally friendly initiatives, there are still
significant challenges related to electronic waste (e-waste), energy consumption, and
proper recycling practices. The responses show that while people are willing to adopt
green technologies, there is a need for better education and infrastructure to support
responsible disposal and recycling of electronic devices.
The survey revealed strong support for companies to take more responsibility in making
their products more recyclable and eco-friendly. Technologies like solar panels and
energy-efficient appliances are seen as key solutions, but there is still uncertainty about
technology’s broader role in solving environmental issues.
