MARKET IS PROFITABLE

• Is There A Population? Find out how many NOTES:


people are in your market by typing this phrase
into Google: ‘how many _______ are in the us’.

Look for those that have over 1 million people.

“How many quilters are in the US”

“How many nurses are in the US”

• Search Google Trends. Click here, then click


‘Explore’ tab and search for your market:
‘gardening’ or ‘golf’.

Next, switch the time period to ‘Past 5 Years’.


Look for trends that are consistent or growing.

• Are People Flocking To Websites? Get a free NOTES:
trial to SimilarWeb, then search for websites
in your market. Click one of the first ones that
show up.

• Then look at the website to find answers to


the following questions:
• Do they show ads on their website?
• Are they collecting emails?
• Do they allow people to advertise on
their site? (scroll to bottom and look for
advertising link)
• Can I contact them directly? (contact page)

• Are There Similar Sites? Go back to SimilarWeb,


and click the tab that says ‘Similar Sites’.

• Then search those websites and find answers to


those same questions.

TIP: It’s actually AMAZING if they are not


currently running ads on their site!

Example Searches:

• How many quilters are in the US • How many engineers are in the US
• How many bodybuilders in the US • How many farmers in the US
• How many nurses are in the US • How many firefighters in the US
• How many bow hunters in the US • How many hair stylists in the US
• How many dads are in the US • How many gardeners are in the US
• How many moms are in the US • How many yogis are in the US
• How many cigar lovers in the US • How many guitarists are in the US

YES! My market idea has over 1 million people in the USA.

NO – my market idea has LESS than 1 million people in the USA.

NOTE: If you chose ‘No’, then try again with one of your other market ideas.
You want to make sure that there are enough people in your market you can
sell to.
