Science week Activities

Grade 1 to 3
Name of the activity- “Science Spectrum”
Description- Students will conduct hands on
experiment based on air, water or light.

Grade 4 and 5th


Name of the activity- “Time travel”
Description- Students will be acting individually
and talking about the changes (environmental,
technological, biodiversity, geological) as if they
are travelling from the past to the present or from
the future to the present.

Grade 6 & 7
Name of the activity-“Scientific spark”
Description- innovative ideas to provide solution
for day- to- day problems ( AI) based

Grade 8, 9 & 10
Name of Activity- “Discovering the magic of
science”
Description- Students will be making and
showcasing scientific models using the materials
provided to them on the spot, thus making learning
fun and interacting

Grade 11 &12 Panel discussion (Role play)


Artificial Intelligence: Boon or Bane?
Discuss the ethical implications, opportunities,
and risks of AI in various fields such as
healthcare, education, and employment.

Rubrics
1. Understanding of Concept (10 points)

10.points: Demonstrates a thorough


understanding of the concept and how it applies to
the project. Explanation is clear and accurate.

5 points: Shows a good understanding, with minor


inaccuracies or unclear parts.
3 points: Basic understanding with noticeable gaps.
2-1 points: Limited or incorrect understanding of
the concept.

2.Creativity and Innovation (10 points)

10 points: Model shows originality and creativity in


approach, design, or application.

5 points: Some creativity shown but mostly


standard ideas or execution.

3 points: Minimal creativity, follows typical


approaches.

1-2 points: Lacks creativity or originality.

3.Construction and Design (5 points)


5 points: Model is well-constructed, stable, and
aesthetically pleasing.

3 points: Design is functional but may have minor


structural issues or aesthetic flaws.

2 points: Several design flaws, some functional


issues.

1 points: Poor construction, model may not be


functional.

4.Functionality and Practicality (10 points)

10 points: Model works as intended and


demonstrates the concept effectively.

5 points: Mostly functional, with minor issues


affecting performance.
3points: Model works partially, but some significant
issues affect functionality.

2-1points: Model does not function as intended.

5. Presentation and Communication (5


points)
5 points: Clear and effective presentation.
Demonstration of model is well-explained, with
confident communication.
3 points: Fairly clear explanation but lacks depth in
some areas or less confident presentation.

2 points: Explanation is unclear or confusing at


points, with less effective communication.

1 points: Presentation lacks clarity or important


information is missing.

6. Research and Data (5 points)


3 points: Thorough research is evident, with
relevant data supporting the project.
2 points: Adequate research, but data may be
lacking or not well-organized.
1 points: Limited research or weak data
presentation.
0points: No research or supporting data.

7. Teamwork (if applicable) (5 points)


3 points: Excellent collaboration and division of
labor.
2 points: Good collaboration, with minor issues.
1points: Some teamwork, but issues with
cooperation or contribution.
