WHAT IS HOME AUTOMATION?
WHAT IS HOME
AUTOMATION?
• Home automation is control of home devices from a
central control point.
• It includes control of home lightings; security locks
of gates, doors and other systems.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AN
AUTOMATED HOME?

• control over your home from any location .


• The greatest benefits of home automation system
are added of sense of security and peace of mind.
APPLICATION :

• The project designed is very


practical in nature because
everything can be controlled with
the help of just a mobile phone
which is widely available nowadays
and also proves to be handy.
• Also the project is feasible because
the cost of the project is very less as
compared to the expensive Wi-Fi
based home control systems
presently available in the market
which require an additional cost of
internet services.
WHAT IS ARDUINO ?
..
• Arduino is an open source prototyping platform based on
easy to use hardware and software.
• Arduino boards are able to read inputs (light on sensor, or
twitter message) and turn it in to output (activating motor,
turn LED, publishing something on line).
• You can tell the board what to do by sending set of
instruction to the microcontroller on the board to do that
use the Arduino programming language and Arduino
software based on processing.
COMPONENTS

• Arduino UNO
• Bluetooth Module HC-05
• Relay
• Android smart phone
• Laptop
• Led bulbs
• Switch
• Battery(9V)
• Connection wires
• Jumper wires
COMPONENTS USED:

Arduino Uno
• The main piece in our project is an Arduino UNO.
RELAY :
 A relay is an electrically
operated switch.
 Relays are used where it is
necessary to control a
circuit by a low-power
signal.
 Relays protect electrical
circuits from overload or
faults.
WORKING EXPLANATION:

• First we need to download and install the Arduino


Bluetooth controller App in our Android Phone from the
Play Store and then pair it with Bluetooth Module
HC05 like we normally pair 2 bluetooth devices.
.
• Now we have Bluetooth Terminal App installed in our Android
phone through which we can send data to Bluetooth
ModuleHC05. HC05 Bluetooth Module is connected
to Arduino UNO to serially receive the data sent by
Bluetooth terminal App through Android Smart Phone.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
BLUETOOTH APP :

 Download and install Arduino controller app.


 Turned ON mobile Bluetooth.
 Now open Bluetooth controller app.
 Press scan.
 Select desired (BluetoothModule HC-05).
 Now set keys by pressing set button on screen.
CONCLUSION :

• Home Automation is undeniably a resource which


can make a home environment automated. People
can control their electrical devices via these Home
Automation devices and set up controlling actions
through Mobile.
• In future this product may have high potential for
marketing.
