Let Him protect us both. May He bless us that we come to enjoy
together (the bliss of knowledge). May we put forth effort together
(in true spirit of cooperation). May what we study, be well studied
(such that the knowledge is available when we need it the most).
May we not hate (quarrel with) each other.

I meditate on You O Nārāyaṇa! the absolute, self-effulgent Being,
who has thousand(s) heads (omnipresent), with all-viewing
eyes (omniscient), source of delight for the world, the all-encompassing
(inclusive), the refuge of all beings, the imperishable, and the
supreme destination.

He is beyond the universe, eternal; He manifests as the universe,
the remover of evil. The universe is this absolute being alone, and the
universe subsists on him.

the eternal One, the auspicious, the infallible. He is the
Supreme object worthy of being known(realized), the Soul of all
beings and the ultimate refuge. I meditate on You O Nārāyaṇa!

Nārāyaṇa is the Absolute Light (as described in the Upaniṣads).
Nārāyaṇa is the infinite Self. Nārāyaṇa is the Absolute Reality
designated as Brahman (in the Upaniṣads). Nārāyaṇa is the Supreme
Meditator; Nārāyaṇa is the Supreme Meditation (Nārāyaṇa is beyond
the triad of meditator-meditated-meditation).

He is the limitless, imperishable, omniscient, residing in the ocean
of the heart, the cause of delight of the world, the supreme end of all
striving. He manifests Himself in the heart-space which is comparable
to an inverted bud of the lotus flower.

the seat of manifestation of Pure Consciousness in the human being,
is the great abode of the Universe, as if adorned with garlands of flames.

Surrounded by nerve-currents, suspends the lotus-bud of the heart in an
inverted position. It is in a subtle space (a narrow aperture, the suṣumnā
nāḍī), and there it is to be found, the Substratum of all things.

In that space within the heart resides the great flame of fire,
undecaying, all-knowing, with flames spread out in all directions,
with faces turned everywhere, consuming food presented before it,
and assimilating it unto itself.

His rays, spreading all around, sideways, above and below,
warm up the whole body from head to foot. In the centre of that Flame
abides the Tongue of Fire, of the colour of shining gold, as the topmost
of all subtle things.

Harī (the Protector), Indra (the Ruler), the Imperishable,
the Absolute, the Self-governed Being.

the Truth, the Cosmic Order, the Puruṣa of blue-decked yellow
