SYLLABUS

The objective of Design Thinking for Startup:

Design thinking is a process that helps businesses iterate and create solutions to problems by
combining multiple perspectives. In a startup ecosystem, design thinking can help companies
solve problems relating to customer acquisition, product development, and governance.

How can the design thinking approach be useful for startup entrepreneurs
Design thinking is a creative problem-solving approach that puts the needs and desires of
your customers at the center of your innovation process. It can help you develop products or
services that are not only feasible and viable, but also desirable and meaningful.

The five stages of design thinking

 Empathize: research your users' needs.
 Define: state your users' needs and problems.
 Ideate: challenge assumptions and create ideas.
 Prototype: start to create solutions.
 Test: try your solutions out.

Most important qualities of design-thinking

 Creativity, lateral thinking, and intuition.
 Effectively clarifying and communicating concepts and ideas through models,
sketches, and stories.
 Being solution-focused—meaning designers make sense of a problem space by
proposing and trying solutions.
