Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the posts of Senior Residents
in Andhra Pradesh Medical Education Services through online in the following specialties to
work in Government Medical Colleges under the Directorate of Medical Education, A.P.
TOTAL NO. OF VACANCIES: - 1,458

AS PER THE NEED OF THE DEPARTMENT)
ELIGIBILITY: FOR SENIOR RESIDENTS IN AP MEDICAL EDUCATION SERVICES
Post Academic Qualification
Senior Resident Medical post graduate degree DM/MCH/MD/MS//DNB/MDS
1. As per the Teachers Eligibility Qualification in Medical
Institutions Regulations, 2022
2. For Department of Emergency Medicine, in absence of
qualified persons, the Post Graduates of the following
departments are also eligible to apply as per NMC
guidelines:

i. General Medicine
ii. Anesthesia
iii. Respiratory Medicine
iv. General Surgery
v. Orthopedics
*DNB in Broad and Super Specialties granted by a Medical Institution with a attached Hospital
or in a Hospital with a strength of 500 or more beds granted by National Board of Examination
are only eligible as per Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations,
2022.

Age: : The Post Graduate must be below 45 years of age at the time of initial
appointment.
Tenure:
1.
1. The post of Senior Residents are tenured positions for 1 year only.
2. Selected candidates are to compulsorily complete one year period.
Eligibility to apply:
1. Candidates who have a Post Graduate Medical / Dental degree
(DM/MCH/MD/MS/DNB/MDS) from Medical College / Institution recognized by NMC/MCI /
DCI with A.P State Medical / Dental Council Registration.
2. Non Local candidates with AP Medical / Dental Council Registration are eligible for Senior
Residency if local candidates are not available.
(NOTE: Local Candidature:- A candidate studied atleast 4 years from 4th to 10th in AP. In case
of study of 4th to 10th in Telangana and migrated to AP after bifurcation, then certificate from
the revenue authorities to that effect as per G.O.Ms.No.132 & 133 GA (SPF&MC) Dept.

Application Procedure:

7. Candidates has to login to DME official website –

7. He / She has to read the notification and fill all the columns by following the
instructions given in the software. Instructions sheets are enclosed.
3. The candidate has to enter his / her details, and submit the application with
relevant data.
4. The candidates has to pay the application fee Rs. 500/- for OC and Rs. 250/- for BC,SC
and ST candidates.

5. Availability of online application: from 04th December 2022, 00.01 AM date of
submission of application on line on or before 10th December 2022 at 11.59 PM.
6. Improper submission of applications or inadequate documents are summarily
rejected.
7. If any of the information provided by the applicant is found to be incorrect, at any time
of his/her appointment will be cancelled without any prior notice.
8. The following documents duly attested must be uploaded while filling
the application.
9. The applicants will not be permitted to submit the documents after last date of
submission of application. No application or documents received in physical
mode.

Provisional Merit list :The provisional list of Eligible / Not eligible candidates will be the
displayed in the DME Website along with merit scored by them.
Selection Process:
1. The merit scored in Post-Graduation exam (including theory & practical) will be the
criteria for preparing merit list & further giving postings as Senior Residents duly
following rule of reservation (RoR).
2. Rule of Reservation will be followed.
3. In case of more than one candidate is having the same marks, Date of Birth will be
taken into consideration and elder person will be given first preference.
4. The selection committee also reserves its rights to alter or modify regarding conditions
laid down in the notification for final selection and also posts notified.
Counselling: - Selected candidates will be allocated in Medical Colleges for SR through
Online counselling strictly based on merit.
