1 Document overview
This document is complementary to the technical documentation TC1019 Alcatel 4059 MAC / IP -
Installation procedure for version 5.0.4.
It describes the new features, the software corrections and the update recommendations.
For further information on attendant set operation, please refer to "Alcatel-Lucent 4059 - User Guide"
documentation.

2 Hardware and Software compatibility
Version 5.5.6 is compatible with Windows® 10/8/8.1 (64 bits Professional Edition), Windows® 7 (64
bits and 32-bits Professional Edition).
Pre-requisites with Windows® :
 1,5 GHz minimum processor
 500 MB of system memory
 40 GB hard drive with at least 1GB of available space
 Graphics with minimum 1280*1024 resolution with true color graphics card.
 DVD-ROM drive
 Audio Output
 Internet access (only one IP address on same network card)
 Alcatel telephonic keyboard

3 COMPATIBILITY OF ALCATEL-LUCENT 4059 and OMNIPCX


ENTERPRISE
Version 5.5.6 is compatible with OXE Release R11.1 and above.

If the 4059 IP must be sign-on in different PC without deleting the MAC address in attendant tscip
parameter” manually. The parameter “4059: PC unregistered at logoff” must be True

The first OXE version compatible with this feature are:

L1.301.41 (because of CROXE-5364)


L2.300.38 (because of CROXE-5358)
M1.403.18 (because of CROXE-4772)
M2.300.7 (because of CROXE-4743)

4 Important advices

4.1 Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP on Windows® 10 64bits

Version 5.5.2 to 4059IP is the first version compatible with Windows 10 64 bits.
Reminder : The 4059MAC can not be installed on Windows10/8/8.1.

The 4059IP migration isn’t possible from W7 to W10 (Windows10 must be re-installed from scratch).

Version 5.5.5 is the first version with the signed driver from Microsoft.
The update process is described in chapter 4.7.1.
Hence after installation of the usbkbdsigned_64 for Win10, the Alcatel Phone keyboard will have the
digital signature.
With a signed USBKBD driver we MUST use the keyboard with the reference:
3AK17154ABJD.
This ref is the technical ref, it isn’t on the catalogue MLE. To launch a command the ref is
3BA00637xB (x is country-dependent).

4.2 Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP on Windows® 8 or 8.1 64bits

Version 5.4.1 to 4059IP is the first version compatible with Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bits.
Reminder : The 4059MAC can not be installed on Windows8/8.1.

The 4059IP migration isn’t possible from W7 to W8 (W8 must be re-installed from scratch).
In this version the driver is the signed driver from Microsoft. Hence after installation of the
usbkbdsigned_64 for win 8/8.1, the Alcatel Phone keyboard will have the digital signature.
With a signed USBKBD driver we MUST use the new keyboard with the reference:
3AK17154ABJD.
This ref is the technical ref, it isn’t on the catalogue MLE. To launch a command the ref is
3BA00637xB (x is country-dependent).

4.3 Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP on Windows® 7 64bits

Reminder : The 4059MAC can not be installed on Windows7.


In 5.3.0, the USB keyboard driver of 64bit installer was wrong. In 5.3.1, it is resolved.
For issues of 4059 IP 64bit on 5.3.0, it has to be uninstalled 4059 IP and USB keyboard driver and
then install 4059 IP 5.3.1 64bit.
For any other versions of 32bit, 4059 application can be upgraded in 5.3.4.

4.4 Alcatel-Lucent 4059 MAC
The Alcatel-Lucent 4059MAC is in phase out.
Reminder : The Alcatel-Lucent 4059MAC can be installed only on Windows XP SP3 (NOT on Windows
Vista, 7,8.x and 10)

4.5 For Alcatel-Lucent 4059 driver MMK
Driver MMK is phase out and cannot be installed on new computer (no more tested and supported).

4.6 For Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP and MAC


Warning If a 4059 older than 5.0.5 is installed you must uninstall, reboot and reinstall the 4059
application. This recommendation is not true for the keyboard driver.
After this installation, the parameters in 4059 management must be set again.

4.7 For Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP


4.7.1 Install or Upgrade keyboard driver in 5.5.5 or upper:
Since 4059_5.5.5, We have the following folders for keyboard installation:

usbkdb32_win7_unsigned-This installation folder contains the keyboard driver that can be used for
win7 32bit.This driver is not signed.

usbkdb64_win7_unsigned-This installation folder contains the keyboard driver that can be used for
win7 64bit.This driver is not signed.

usbkdb64_win7_win8_signed-This installation folder contains the keyboard driver that can be used for
win7 and win8/8.1 64bit.This driver is signed .

usbkbd64_win10_signed-This installation folder contains the keyboard driver that can be used for
win10 64bit.This driver is signed. The version 5.5.5 is the first with this driver version. Please follow the
steps below to update this driver.

Win 10 keyboard driver installation procedure:


Plug the keyboard. If the driver is already installed please follow the below uninstallation steps (1) and
then do installation steps (2). If suppose, it is the new installation directly go to the installation steps (2)

1.UNINSTALLATION STEPS:
Uninstall previously installed keyboard drivers in following paths:
a.Programs and features.
b.Device manager.
a.Programs and features:
Please uninstall the previous installed Alcatel keyboard.

After clicking uninstall. Give the remove option and yes for removing all the installed features.

After loading setup status process, before giving Yes for restarting the pc, we have to delete the
drivers from device manager.
NOTE:Before clicking the finish button on setup wizard, kindly do the following as given
below in b. Device manager.

Please select the checkbox “Delete the driver software for this device” and click OK.

Now you click the finish button in the setup wizard as shown in the below picture.

Now PC goes for reboot , once it comes up do the following installation Steps.

after restarting the PC.

Click the install setup file in path 4059_5.5.5\usbkbd64_win10_signed\Disk1 and give RUN option.

After restarting the pc.
Please check the details of Alcatel keyboard in device manager.

4.7.2 Upgrade from 4059IP 5.0.5 or older

Warning If a 4059 older than 5.0.5 is installed, because of the policy management of MAC address,
before starting the application, you must delete the attendant in the PBX configuration and
create it again.

5 Known issues

5.1 Solution if a PC does not start with Alcatel USB keyboard or if Alcatel USB
Keyboard is not recognized
Our USB Keyboard estimated consumption is 200mA/5V which is less than the availability of a
standard USB port when configured in High-power mode.
Every USB port (driver) should be able to provide a current of 500mA/5V when configured in High-
power mode (this is standard). Unfortunately, some PCs have USB ports configured by default in
Low-Power mode which only allows to provide 100mA/5V.
In such cases, the solution is to either configure the PC’s USB port in High-power mode (depending
on PC/Bios configuration) or add an USB HUB (between keyboard and PC) with external power
supply which provides High-power mode.

5.2 Access between 4059EE and OXE Through a VPN


This solution isn’t validated, but it is technically possible.
Please check that the VPN is VOIP compatible (The computer MAC Address must be correctly
transmitted by the VPN).

5.3 Solution if the keyboard telephonic panel is blocked


Check if the software Altiris is running on this computer. (In this case a process AeXNSAgent.exe is
in task manager).
In this case stop this software or excluding the Alcatel driver USB from Altiris scope.

Version 5.3.2 corrects anomalies described in Appendix 1.

6.11 Between 5.3.1 and 5.2.6


Version 5.3.1 is the first version compatible with Windows® 7 64bit.
Only the USB keyboard is supported. A specific driver is delivered with the version.
Version 5.1.3 contains all reports from 5.2.6 and corrects anomalies found; see Appendix 1.
Now, only release 5.3.x will evolve.

6.12 Between 5.2.6 and 5.2.5


Version 5.2.6 corrects anomalies described in Appendix 1.

6.13 Between 5.2.5 and 5.2.3


Version 5.2.5 corrects anomalies described in Appendix 1.

6.14 Between 5.2.3 and 5.1.8


Version 5.2.3 is the first version compatible with Windows® 7. It has the same level as version 5.1.8.
Version 5.2.3 is compatible with Windows® 7 (32-bits Professional Edition), Vista Business (32-bits)
and XP SP3.
Windows® 7 and Vista accept only USB keyboard.

6.15 Between 5.1.8 and 5.1.7


Version 5.1.8 corrects anomalies described in Appendix 1.

6.16 Between 5.1.7 and 5.1.5


Version 5.1.7 corrects anomalies described in Appendix 1.
Following the correction of crms00197499 "4059 Call by name impossible", in 5.1.6, 4059 Call by
name search on LDAP 4760 gives result by checking the query string with Last Name or First Name in
LDAP. For this the existing feature is to be enhanced to get the call by name result also by checking
First Name.

6.17 Between 5.1.5 and 5.1.4


Version 5.1.5 corrects anomalies described in Appendix 1.

6.18 Between 5.1.4 and 5.1.3

Version 5.1.4 can be installed on Windows® XP SP2 and SP3, Windows® Vista Business 32 bits (for
4059 IP).

6.19 Between 5.1.3 and 5.1.2


Version 5.1.3 contains all reports from 5.0.9 and corrects anomalies found in version 5.1.2; see
Appendix 1.
Now, only version 5.1.x will evolve.

6.20 Between 5.1.2 and 5.1.1


Version 5.1.2 corrects one anomaly found in version 5.1.1; see Appendix 1.

6.21 Between 5.1.1 and 5.0.4


The version 5.1.1 is compatible with Windows® Vista Business (32 bits) (from R9.0) and Windows® XP
Professional SP2.
Windows® Vista supports only the USB keyboard.
Windows® XP SP2 supports the two keyboards.
Version 5.1.1 is at the same functionnal level than 5.0.7 and corrects some anomalies.
On a computer Windows® XP SP2, the 4059 can be updated without removing the driver (except if
you change the type of keyboard from MAC to USB).
Version 5.0.5 corrects some anomalies found in 5.0.4; see Appendix 1.
The 4059 management application accepts three IP addresses, which allow a good working in spatial
redundancy and PCS.

6.22 Between 5.0.4 and 5.0.3


Version 5.0.4 corrects some anomalies found in 5.0.3; see Appendix 1.
The 4059 management application accepts two IP addresses for tftp server, which allows a good
working in spatial redundancy.
In this application before starting first time, the PC has NOE softphone parameter must be ticked
under Application Setup tool if the associated station is an Alcatel-Lucent IP Desktop Softphone
installed on the same computer.

If this Boolean is ticked/unticked after starting the application, you must delete the
attendant management in the PBX and create it again to reflect the new MAC
address in PBX.

6.23 Between 5.0.3 and 5.0.2


Version 5.0.3 corrects some anomalies found in 5.0.2; see Appendix 1.
Version 5.0.3 contains the same level of correction as 4.016.10.

7 Restrictions

7.1 Alcatel-Lucent 4059 MAC


4059MAC is phase out and can’t be installed on a new computer.
The operation of the Alcatel-Lucent 4059 Multimedia application has been tested on the models of PC
described in technical communication TC0966 Alcatel 4059 MAC / IP - Installation procedure for
version 5.0.3 like HP Compaq® DC7800.

7.2 Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP


Note Virtual DESKTOP environment is only usable with 4059EE, this feature isn’t compatible with 4059IP.
