So fisrt, in this chapter, we will carry out research in the import market in Russia.
We believe that understanding the market for the product category in the importing
country is important for several reasons.
First, market research helps to gain a clear understandi ng of the industry’s
requirements and standards.
These could include quality standards and certifications such as GlobalGAP,
HACCP for food, or certificates of origin.
In addition, market research helps you understand regulations related to taxes,
import quotas.

In recent years, the situation of agricultural production in Vietnam has made very
solid progress.Among them , Vietnam's agricultural product exports gradually
dominate when they are present in more than 130 countries around the world.
According to data from the General Department of Customs, the Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam's

Currently, both sides still have difficulties in terms of market access and opening
up import-export markets for each other, which significantly affects the import-
export capacity. However, the agricultural products of Russia and Vietnam do not
compete but complement each other, creating favorable conditions for businesses
to promote.

Potential partners
After researching the product and target market, I have found potential partners for
the company. Currently in Russia, there are many businesses specializing in
purchasing agricultural products from Vietnam, including Sapo.
After searching through import-export groups on Facebook and websites about
Russian businesses, we have identified the three most exemplary companies:
LENTA : was established in 1993. it started as a small store in St. Petersburg,
Russia.
And now Lenta operates hundreds of hypermarkets and supermarkets across
Russia, offering a wide range of products, including food, household goods, and
agricultural products.
Fruktovaya Lavka : was established in 2006. Over the years, Fruktovaya Lavka
has gained a strong reputation in Russia, especially in cities like Moscow, for
providing fresh and premium products to its customers.
RVI : was established in 2006. RVI plays an important role in developing Russia's
risky investment market.
