ONLINE EVENT DONATIONS
What events can I show my appreciation for by means of an online donation?
You may use donate.jw.org to make online donations to show appreciation for regional,
special, and international conventions and for circuit assemblies.
Can I donate online for an event before or after it is held?
Yes. You may donate on donate.jw.org before, during, and after the event.
What donation payment options are available on donate.jw.org?
Credit or Debit Card: You may use different card types. You may be asked to approve
the transaction using your bank’s application. A jw.org user account is not required.
PayPal: This mobile wallet allows you to store payment information. You may use this
option if you already have a PayPal account. A jw.org user account is not required.
Direct Debit (ACH): Using this payment option, you authorize a donation to be withdrawn
directly from your bank account. A jw.org user account is required.
Do I need a jw.org account?
No. A jw.org account is not required to donate. However, a jw.org account is needed to
establish monthly donations, to access your donation history, or to use some donation
payment options.
Can only Jehovah’s Witnesses create jw.org accounts?
No. Anyone with an email address can open a jw.org account. Please note that you
should use only an email address you personally control to create an account.
Can I set up a recurring monthly donation to show my appreciation for these events?
Yes, most donation payment types allow you to set up a recurring monthly donation in
appreciation for an event. To use this option, you will need to have a jw.org account.
Do I need to select a specific event before making an online donation?
There is no need to specify a convention location, since expenses for regional, special,
and international conventions are cared for by funds from the worldwide work of Jeho-
vah’s Witnesses. For circuit assemblies, some of the expenses may be cared for locally.
Therefore, you will need to select one of the congregations assigned to the circuit assem-
bly to help care for those specific expenses. Please note that if you are logged into jw.org
and change your congregation, this may affect any recurring donations you have previ-
ously set up.
Will I receive a receipt for my online donation?
Yes. You will receive an automatic email receipt from “
[email protected]” to the email ad-
dress you provided when making your donation.
Will I receive donation solicitations to my email address?
No. The branch office may use your email address to send you a letter of appreciation for
your donation, to provide you with information in connection with a donation you have
completed, or to provide information you request for a future donation. However, if you
receive an email from someone claiming to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and asking
for a donation, please use the “Contact Us” feature on donate.jw.org to inform the branch
office of this communication immediately.
Are my online donations eligible for an income tax deduction?
Yes. The automated email receipt provided can be used as a tax receipt in this country.
Where can I find more information about how to make online donations?

donate online and how to create a jw.org user account. The “Frequently Asked Questions
